This was Fami’s (the new bass player) first ever concert with Lovebites, and first large concert of any kind. She's 21 years old! Fami - the nuclear power cell of smiles, joy and energy! Notice Fami slaps those two bass solo sections (which the original bass player, Miho, played finger style) and the bass/drum section after the solos is a joy... Asami's look of support and delight, followed by a thumbs up to Fami. Not only did Lovebites make the perfect choice, Fami BELONGS in Lovebites. The energy is radiating from all members. Haruna's playing is incredible here and her drums sound amazing and of course M&M kill on guitar as you'd expect... but notice Miyako seems invigorated!!! She's moving around, head-banging even, more so than I ever remember seeing. "We're back!" Hell yes, you are! GO! Oh, and Asami sounds better than EVER! Asami was trained as a ballerina for 16 years… until someone pointed out at 4’ 10” she was too short… now she’s a gaint voice in heels for the best heavy metal band on the planet. 🤘
Its funny you mention the singer, Asami, being like a ballerina. She was one for like 16 years she always moves around very gracefully. They actually incorporate it into one of the live performances of one of their best songs yall need to react to: A Frozen Serenade.
Not like a ballerina, she grew up studying ballet. A Frozen Serenade encompasses a lot of their variety of skills.
Asami began classical ballet at the age of 2 and trained in ballet for about 16 years.🤗 Not a ballerina? OK
Miyako and Midori are not guitarists. Because they have only been playing guitars for 15 years.😅

This song is one of their early works, included in LOVEBITES' first full album "AWAKENING FROM ABYSS" (October 2017). In fact, among their repertoire of about 60 songs, there are extremely few songs with solo parts for bass and drums, and I think this song was chosen as the opening song because one of the purposes of this concert was to showcase the new member FAMI (bass).
You mentioned the two guitar players personalities. Ironically, from what I see, the dark-haired guitarists, Myiako, is far more active on social media. Especially with the fans. She is always posting all sorts of vids on her website engaging with the fans and explaining stuff about heself and the band and guitar playing in general. And she smiles a lot more than when playing. She seems like a, not quiet or shy, but "low key" personality. Not saying the othe guitar player is not also like this. I just see far more of Myiako doing it.
Midori the Blonde Muscle girl is a Adrenalin Junkie. She is Fierce and Fun whether its on stage at the gym, hiking,river rafting or on the way to 7-11. She lets it all hang out and Wonderfully I might add.
That mustache should be in a museum or something. Its a national treasure.
I enjoy your reactions to the best band in existence. If you can get to Japan…..do it! I saw this concert in March and am going back in September for 3 more. It’s the most beautiful country with THE nicest people I’ve ever encountered. Every single one of them is helpful, polite, welcoming. I love Japan almost as much as I love Lovebites…

Pigtails are very common among Japanese women. Many musicians weave pigtails .
Haruna (drums) braids a pigtail for concerts on the left side of her head. You just didn't notice her pigtail (Haruna has a pigtail in this video).
Fami (bass) also has a pigtail (in the back) in this video.
Miho (former bass, founder and leader of the band, 2016-2021) sometimes also braided pigtails for concerts (side)
The bass solo was 3. Two short ones, one longer one. You paused 2 times unsuccessfully (on bass solos) and talked for a long time.
On July 2, 2023, Midori (blonde, guitar) took 5th place in the East Japan Bodybuilding Championship (Body Fitness category). The first 6 places are finalists.
On July 16, 2023, Midori placed 2nd at the 58th Tokyo Championships in the Body Fitness category. Tokyo is the largest urban agglomeration in the world, with the largest population (more than 37.270.000 people). The competition in the Tokyo Championship was serious.
Asami (lead vocals) trained in classical ballet for about 16 years. She started ballet at the age of 2. After graduation, she lived in the United States for several years. In the USA, Asami studied singing (Jazz) and danced hip-hop.

I love that section when the band goes hallftime, just as Midori is starting her solo. Haruna's work on the toms and that riff by Miyako is so funky! Totally something you wouldn't expect ro be thrown in the middle of a metal song. 🥁🎸😙🤌

After this concert was over, *Midori* Blond braid started training for a Bikini Body Fitness competition in July - where she Medaled. *Miyako* (guitar) smiles a lot on her RUclips channel, and is practicing for a recital in November. She has a new EP out of old Metal classics, re-imagined as classical piano pieces. There is even an awesome MV of her piano cover of Helloween's *_Eagle Fly Free_* . *Asami* (vocals) found out that at 4'10" she was considered 'too short' to be a ballerina. So she became an R&B singer, auditioned for Lovebites, and discovered she was a 'natural' belter. This was *Fami's* (bass) first Live with Lovebites, and first ever show with a big audience. Haruna (4'9" Powerhouse drummer) is a smile machine, and her double kicks are legendary..
Given that this performace Includes Fami I would think that that the fitness training and competition things were before this concert (during hiatus thingy).
@@jfw413 No - when you are 'peaking' for a body building competition, the final month or two are the crucial time. This recording came from a performance in March, and Midori's competition was in the first week of July. Midori medaled in the competition, but I'm not sure if it was a 2nd or 5th place finish. I believe the band actually scheduled the Judgment Day tour with Midori's competitions in mind. She will be competing soon in the All Japan Bikini Body Fitness competition. The Judgment Day tour is from late August to the first week of October.
Their first song in their first set in their first live concert after two years. No sign of rust, just fire! Oh, Midori is a competitive body builder.

"the hammer of wrath" is a song from the first album released in 2017, composed(co-written by mao) by bassist miho who left the band. It is speculated that this song was played to show gratitude to miho who left the band. the first stage of fami, who was selected in the bassist audition. fami is a third-year university student, 21 years old, and has 670,000 followers as a bassist youtuber. all the members can play keyboard, especially blond guitarist midori, who was thinking about becoming a keyboard (electronictone) player in the future when she was in high school. next is, change a point of view and recommend anime opening song "winds of transylvania" composed(co-written by mao) by singer asami.
Miyako, the dark hair guitarist plays classical piano for years before she took up guitar, that why I think doesn't make faces while soloing. Have you seen classical pianist making faces in a concert?
Actually I have. Some are very animated while they perform. I know classical guitarists that make the funniest faces while playing. 🙂

If you deny the is no attraction to these ladies then you are lying to everyone. They are beautiful because we love what they do and are so drawn to them.
Great reaction...LMAO at the comments. Midori/blond and Miyako/black are polar opposites who blend perfectly together. They practice together away from the band often so that their harmonizing is perfect LIVE. The M&M show as they are known, will either inspire you to be a better musician or intimidate you to quit LOL. The new bass player, Fami a 20 y.o. phenomenon, fits right in with these insanely talented women. This was their comeback after an hiatus of 2 years, yet it was like they never left except for the energy and joy they generated. This is off the new CD/DVD/Blu-ray and it means this is one wicked disc to get your hands on. Hoping for tours in 2024 so that this band finally gets the recognition they deserve. Many of us Wolfpack members have been singing their praise since 2017 but the growth has been slow.

Already in 2017 (the next year after their formation) LOVEBITES gave concerts outside of Japan (3 concerts in London).
In 2018 (after 2 years!) they received the GOLDEN GODS Metal Hammer in London! I advise you to find and read what other famous bands and famous musicians received the GOLDEN GODS of Metal Hammer. You will be very surprised when you read. The first GOLDEN GODS Awards took place in 2003. How many Japanese bands have received GOLDEN GODS since this prestigious Award existed?Personally, I know only one Japanese band that received the GOLDEN GODS (in 2015).
In 2018 LOVEBITES performed at major rock festivals (Japan, Germany and UK) :
- LOVEBITES performed at the world's largest annual heavy music festival Wacken Open Air. For reference: in 2018, LOVEBITES became the first all-female Japanese band to perform at Wacken in the history of this festival (since 1990).
- At Bloodstock Open Air , LOVEBITES performed on the festival's main stage(Ronnie James Dio Stage). JUDAS PRIEST and KAMELOT also performed on this stage in 2018.
I may be wrong, but LOVEBITES is the only Japanese band to be honored to perform at these festivals 2 years after their formation. The chance to perform at major festivals rarely falls to new bands not known in Europe.
At the end of 2018, LOVEBITES played concerts in the Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK.
And this is TWO years after the formation of LOVEBITES and ONE year after the release of their first 'The Lovebites EP' ! How many bands (not only Japanese) are there that have achieved such results in two years after their creation (starting from scratch)? And if you take into account the fact that LOVEBITES is a Japanese band ? Given that 95% of metal fans in the west are not interested in Japanese metal.
In 2019 LOVEBITES performed with ARCH ENEMY in China. During the summer they performed at major rock festivals in the UK, Spain and Belgium. The performance of LOVEBITES at the Download Festival in Donington (UK) was named by the organizers of the festival and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! At the end of 2019, a tour with DRAGONFORCE (11 concerts) in the UK.
In January 2020, LOVEBITES performed in Singapore.
Since the first 'The Lovebites EP', all their albums have been released outside of Japan (Europe, America, Australia, New Zealand).
The album 'Electric Pentagram' (2020) was included by Metal Hammer (April 2020) in 'Top 20 Metal Albums of 2020' list.
'EP 'Glory, Glory, to the World' (2021) was nominated for the 2021 Global Metal Apocalypse Award as 'Global Metal Release of the Year' and placed 2nd.
But in 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic began, which prevented this. Then Miho left (2021), gave birth to Miyako's child (2021), then gave birth to Asami's child (2022).
The Western music press often refers to LOVEBITES as the Queens of Metal . One music critic stated .... 'it seems like a crime that these two guitarists (Midori and Miyako) are allowed to play in the same band!' Making it clear that it would be possible to create 2 great bands, with one guitarist in each.

There are a lot of good bands and musicians in Japan, the competition is very strong.
See what venues LOVEBITES perform in compared to many other Japanese bands. Good concert halls. The occupancy (number of spectators) in them is greater than in the halls in which most other Japanese bands perform. Look at the level of organization of LOVEBITES concerts (including scenography, lighting, sound, cameras, etc.). Better than many Japanese bands. Etc.
Tickets for LOVEBITES concerts are sold out several months in advance and quite quickly. Japanese music media have repeatedly reported that LOVEBITES concert tickets are difficult to obtain because they sell out very quickly. There were cases when tickets for concerts were sold out during the day!
@@user-lr3kc2fu9c Outside of Japan? The concerts and awards were great yet they finally reached 100k on their YT channel just recently. Fami had over 600K on her channel when she auditioned for the band. COVID killed their world tours and they haven't toured in North/South America. They won the award but never got to fully follow up on it. While we Wolfpack member rant and rave about this band they are still chasing Babymetal and even Nemophila has gained more exposure thanks to their recent tours. LB is easily one of the best bands I have ever listened to and I have seen some great bands over the years from Cream (1966) on, yet for all the insane talent they are still mostly an unknown asset even in the Metal world that they should be dominating. Now that Fami is settled in and world tours are likely in 2024, I truly hope they finally become the household name every true music lover can appreciate. Even with all the YT reactions over the last several years they still remained a surprise to most metalheads These women should be the AC/DC or Metallica band of present day, how they are not is criminal.

Keep up the reviews guys, very enjoyable. btw the singer Asami was ballet trained for 16yrs, , FROZEN SERENADE live clip shows that , the gtr player Midori competes in body building comps and has a six pack, Miyako 16 years of classical piano training. Yes they are astoundingly talented women. The new bassist recorded her first album by 19yo and her accumulated views on her work to some ridiculous figure like 73 million view , rising to 78 million , when she joined Lovebites. Haruna the drummer played 11years with Destrose with the previous bassist Miho. Haruna is 4'11'' of atom smashing power and accuracy with a cupsie doll look of joy on her face.

Sorry, but .... Miyako has been playing classical piano for 30 years! Starting from 3 years of age. Miyako is now 33 years old. Haruna was in DESTROSE from 2012 to 2014.

Great reaction videos! This band is one of my favorite bands! I would say that what characterizes this band the most is talent and discipline! All women have a big part in the success and popularity of this band! And each of them gives the band passion, talent and personality! Miyako (dark hair musician) is my favorite woman from this band! I have been studying musical art Miyako for 2 years. One man's idea fascinated me. How good would Miyako be if she played the guitar from the age of three like a piano!! Miyako taught herself to play the guitar at the age of nineteen! However, Miyako is not only one of the best guitarists and pianists in the world. In addition, Miyako is an excellent keyboardist, composer and arranger! She composed many mastrpieces in this band! I have a lot of respect and admiration for Miyako for her contribution to the band and to Metal/Rock! Midori is a completely different guitarist! Midori (athletic woman) is full of energy, life and fire. What a beauty to see both talented women complementing each other perfectly! Although they are completely different in everything! Like fire and ice! Asami is an excellent singer and I would say she is like a little Napoleon on stage who can win over a crowd! In addition, Asami writes beautiful songs and her graceful movements and smile shine from her presentation! Fami did a great job of following up on the work of former bass player Miho! Her joy of playing bass guitar, passion for music and endless smile gave the band "fresh blood"! Asami said about Fami that when Fami first came to the studio, she brought a "glow" with her! And social media has made it worse--before the internet you could at least entertain the illusion that you were the best around, but you only have to go on RUclips for five minutes to find someone who is better at whatever you do. I think the only solution to that is to focus on your own progress and try to be better than *you*, not to be better than everyone else.

I think you, and many other gets it the wrong way around when it comes to Midori and Miyako.
Miyako, the introvert girl. Please look closer when she do her solo. She is concentrating hard and totally lives in her music. She often looks at the guitar while playing. And you can see her strong feelings when doing some passages.
Midori, the muscular and outgoing girl, she is the one that can play without thinking. She often do not look at the guitar. She can concentrate on the audience instead. Midori is the super shredder of the two. The one with scary muscle memory. That probably can play while she sleeps. OK, even she sometimes plays a difficult passage where she has to concentrate.
Miyako is the composer and the more experimental player that plays with more feeling. Please look at break the wall. There you get it.
If your daughter plays the violin, mayby try an other Japanese metal band: Unlucky Morpheus, they have a (female) violinist in the band. Suggestion: the live version of "Black Pentagram".

I watched the premier of this, since I subscribe to the Lovebites channel. This is about the 20th react I've seen to this. I hope it gets the ladies more notoriety. Fami first live performance with the band, kicking butt and looking so happy being in the band. What you don't see is the hundreds of hours of practice and rehearsals that they do that make it look so easy when it's damn well not. Midori, the one with the braided hair and muscular physic is a body builder and has competed in a few Ms Fitness competitions. I hope to see at least one more song released before the Aug 23, 2023 official release date.

I think you've somehow converted the original stereo sound into mono. LOVEBITES is one band that absolutely needs to be listened to in stereo. As well as just being a much better experience, they record their music in such a way as different sounds are heard in different ears. For example, you can tell whether its Miyako or Midori playing based on which ear you're hearing it.

Haruna (drums) and the original bassist MIHO founded this band! They were both in DESTROSE before starting this band! MIHO left a year or two back and they hired FAMI on bass!
Midori began doing female body building in the down time of the band while they looked for a new bass player (even though FAMI is awesome, MIHO was a driving force behind this band)

Holy cow.....Haruna it's a crazy drum machine with incredible skills to know how to keep and change the ritm but still alltime driving has metronome. Mihaco and Midory and Fami are incredible almost not natural humain been guitars and bass players..Asami voice was just AMAZING and incredible voice she his from another world. Too good. They are musically all gifted and blessed from the Heay metal gods . Nice reaction from you.

Miyako is my favorite. A brilliant pianist, guitar player, and composer. She just gets into her playing and grooves to it.
Midori, the fit bikini model shredder, personifies a beautiful metal look.
Asami is the most non-metal, metal as %$#@ singer I have ever heard.
Haruni is a machine/beast on drums.
Fami is a 20 year old technical wiz on bass.
Combined, the best collection of talent I have ever seen/heard in a band. And that includes super groups.

Yeah these ladies are fantastic, they all are successful apart from LOVEBITES, Midori is a bodybuilder and just won 2nd place in Tokyo Japan, Miyako is a fenomenal pianist and released a cd with her versions on piano of metal songs, battery from Metallica, Eagle Fly Free from Helloween, etc Fami has another band and her solo project and has even more subscribers than LOVEBITES on her channel, Haruna, I read shes a certified nutritionist and chef and Asami collaborates with other bands from time to time. You guys disappointed me with your continuous drooling over the guitarists!! Hold on, it was only two you were salivating over and you forgot the most proficient guitarist in the band, Fami!! When Miyako and Midori were 20 years of age, which was the age Fami joined Lovebites last year, she was already streets ahead in experience and talent!! She released a solo album and wrote the content for it by herself ( can be heard on Spotify) , has played on stage home and abroad. She has almost 700k youtube subscribers with 58+ million views! If and when she reaches Midori's and Miyako's age, can you imagine her proficiency then!! Btw Lovebites is the summation of 5 members founded by the drummer Haruna!! 😎🤟 Just thought I would put it out there 😉
LOVEBITES was founded by Miho. It was her idea to create a band. The brain and leader was also Miho. Haruna stepped away from music in 2014 when she left DESTROSE . And Miho, after the breakup of DESTROSE ( 2015), continued to play bass in several Japanese bands and dreamed of creating "her dream band". Thanks to Miho's vision and initiative, LOVEBITES were born.
These ideas belong to Miho:
- What kind of music will the future band play (based on New Wave of British Heavy Metal + thrash metal);
- Lyrics in English. This is one of the reasons why Asami was chosen as the vocalist. Asami lived in America for several years and spoke English quite fluently.
- The new band should go outside of Japan. Achieve international recognition.
- Appearance - white dresses.
It can be said that Miho brought Haruna back into music by offering to join the band she wanted to create.
Is Fami the most experienced at LOVEBITES ? 😳 How many years of musical experience does Fami have? Midori has 33 years of experience! Miyako has 30 years of experience!
When Fami was just born (in 2002), Midori had been playing the piano and keyboards for 12 years (from the age of 2)! In 2002, Miyako has been stubbornly mastering the profession of a pianist for 9 years (from the age of 3)! It is precisely such a long (from early childhood) playing the piano that allows children to develop hearing, develop coordination, flexibility, speed, sensitivity, etc. fingers. This all has huge benefits for learning guitar later in life (Midori at 20, Miyako at 18)! The result you see is the guitar playing technique demonstrated by Midori and Miyako. If you really got what I wrote instead of going off the rails, people reacting should not ignore others for the sake of preference and give a well rounded response. A real critic would do that. My teenage years saw the rise of punk rock and NWOBHM! Three of my friends made it in the industry of which two are still touring the world while the other has retired. The retirees first tour abroad was Japan 1979 and that band has had an influence on lovebites 😉 and as for the other two they have also played in Japan!!! What you wrote does not bother me but be more mindful who you are writing to and try not to be a keyboard warrior 😎🤟

I can understand your admiration for Fami. Fami is a talented musician and a sweet person. But this does not mean that the other members of the band are weaker than her as professionals.
