I love your honesty, humour and realism. I’d have flung the thing in the naught corner a long time ago. Good luck with all that purling.

Here's a non complicated way to do just knit on the opposite side...without having to reverse anything.
Start exactly the way Stephen said for the first part....then knit instead of purl...you'll have I row that looks like stockinette but you won't see it after a few rows
Knit the accent color twisted rib as the patten says.
Only on the color change purl that row so the bumps are on the correct side...then knit instead of purl...
My sides looks exactly the same cant tell 1 bit

Your colors are beautiful! I did the modification for the 2nd wing, and it was wonderful. At first I was reluctant because my brain is tired from work, and I couldn't think through the mods. I purled the first wedge, and I was ready to give up, and started the mods on the 2nd wedge. It was great! Start by knitting 3 rows of plain color- and on the 4th row, knit to 8 stitches from the end. From there you are doing what you did on wing 1. You wrap on the wrong side and add the new color on the right side. But maybe you don't mind purling :)

Hope your daughter is feeling better 🙏🏻. I love your Bichon Frise in the background…so adorable!! I had a Bichon named Pierre for 15 years…he was a lovely doggie! Your Twists and Turns is looking gorgeous!! It’s Monday night and I’m on Section 2 - Short Rows. I’m still behind but this section is going faster than Clue 1! 😅 I knit a Magnolia Bloom Cardigan for one of my sisters earlier this year…such beautiful sweaters!

    You are so amazing!
I finally figured out the pattern for clue 1 and am still working on the first part-
Yes life does get in the way! Had to make a throw quilt for a birthday on the 28th - I’m behind- and I am thinking positive I will get caught up ( soon 🧐)
Thank you for cheering us on - I so needed it.

Looks great Karen! I am still on clue 1. Yikes. I am too using Lykke needles a 3 mm fixed circular. I think the yarn makes a difference!

I’m enjoying watching your journey with this MKAL. (FYI - I am not participating). Your comment about loose purl stitches rings true with me too and I recently saw a tip that if you wrap the yarn from the front to back it uses less yarn thus making a tighter stitch, HOWEVER, you then have to knit the stitches on the reverse side thru the back loop if you’re knitting stockinette. Maybe this tip would be helpful. But I’ve never heard of creating garter by purling, so will curious to see how this worked out when you get to it😉

The first wing looks great. Don't feel bad about not being on time, I'm still on part 1! I'm in the zone so hopefully I'll finish soon and catch up to this next week! ( Probably not!)
Can you use a small crochet hook to fix the icord?
Hope your daughter is feeling better. Your dog is so cute, he looked like he was following your every word.💜🐕💜

I love your colors! And I admire the fact that you’re even trying this. I just enjoy watching but I would never try to make one. How about a little crochet hook to weave those ends in? I think that would work fine. It was a good solution though picking up and securing those stitches that are hanging loose. Keep on, and know that we are enjoying watching your process.

I did the same thing with the dropped stitch in the I-cord. I managed to snag it, took a crochet hook and crocheted it up to where I was. I'm on clue #3 and you would think it's a easy short knit. But no, it's taking me forever. With that said, I am loving the knit. I always learn new things with Stephen West.

It’s Thursday morning and I have 4” of icord bind off left (I fell asleep with my needles in hand last night). I also dropped a couple stitches on my icord edge so I was relieved to see hear that I was not alone. The good news is that I was able to grab them in my pick up for the next section. On to clue 3 today. I’m hoping it’s a little less than the previous clues as I would like to work on another project for a bit.

This is what I did for sec 2. I knit the second row too. And cıntinue knitting the reat. You omit the first garter bump. Bıt really id mot that big of a deal. At least dorsnot bother me as my loose gauge would

when my mother taught me to knit, her purls were purls through the back loop; when i finally took a knitting class i found that out and my purls have been really loose! a Norwegian purl seems to fix most of those issues for me. this is specific to continental knitters btw.

I dropped the same stitch in the I cord edge. I saw it about 10 rows later en fixed it as good as possible with a crochet hook. And yes a lot of purling!

On you last episode I forgot to comment that I reacted the same way as you when I realized I basically had to do another repeat. And now in this episode I am with you. I feel the same with the back loop stitches. When I hear you talk I feel like your in my head. Glad that I am not alone. And this weekend was supposed to be a knitathon for me but one of my kids was not well. Soooo, still on the right side on the first accent wedge.

Love your colors together! I need to admit that I really did not enjoy the purling section… My purls are way tighter than my knit stitches, so the opposite problem than yours. I’m almost done with the first cable section, that was my first time doing cables and i hope the stitches will even out after blocking. I actually really enjoy doing them!
