My husband and I were at beautiful knitters on the 31st of august on our adventure to London and Paris, what a fabulous shop and we purchased our yarn that was made within 50 kilometers of London 🥰 since it was my husbands birthday, they gifted him one of their project bags. They were so kind and very very helpful 👍👍👍
Yeah, me too. I do wish he'd said the town they were in, or showed a map. Not that I can't Google it, but some parts of London are more disabled friendly than others. So if you use a wheelchair you'd need to plan extra to get to some of these places. Not to mention getting around the shop. Plus seeing where the nearest tube or bus station is helpful for all kinds of tourists. A lot of the creative craft/ fine art supply shops are on the north east (above the river) side of London. Camden, Hackney, and Soho are all more or less in this area. It's not the art quarter or London, but if you mentioned it that way, I would not entirely disagree.
"Mark, I love experiencing London through your lens and discovering the diverse knitting shops you visit. Thank you and Ned for sharing your wonderful travels!"
I went to Wild and Wooly when I first decided to learn how to knit. You are correct. The lady there (owner?) was very helpful. She helped me pick out a yarn and needles for my first project. I don't know if they still do, as this was before Covid, but they have meetups there for people to meet and hang out with fellow knitters/crocheters. It's two buses for me to get there, so I go to my local walking distance groups instead.
Loved how this video felt like I got to have a tour of London yarn stores! I especially enjoyed all the footage of decor and unique yarn and makes from local designers. Thank you for sharing this!
My daughter and son-in-law are going to London in October, and I am keeping their pup. I think I will put in a request for something fun from one of the shops you took us too. Fun!
I really enjoyed your video! Visiting yarns shops is high on my list. Every new place I go I try to find a new yarn place. Some are better than others. Thank you for sharing!
Yes, the yarn and other goods were amazing, but the thing that was most impressive💌 was your resolve! I would have blown my budget several times over. Thanks so much for allowing us to "crawl" vicariously through your video! Best wishes for a safe and happy remainder of your trip!
I loved visiting all these beautiful little shops with you. Such fun to see all the wonderful yarns and all the accessories that go along with kntting/crocheting.
I came back from a short trip to London last week, and Beautiful Knitters was the only shop I had a chance to visit. I bought some beautiful yarn there I definitely did not need, but I love it and can’t wait to use it. London is gorgeous and you are a beautiful soul. Love your videos! ❤
I do hope that the little cat at the end has a home. Thank you for this trip to London. I was really pleased that you visited Wild and Woolly as Anna is my go-to person when shopping online. I certainly spotted the Garthenor sock yarn she sells that I’m addicted to.
What a great day out! I’m a Londoner. I really must do this one day. I’ve purchased from a few of these shops online but think I’ve only visited one in person. Great video. Thank you
Mine comes in and admires anything I put in his hands. Even when he can't see it, lol. (He's visually impaired & can't get a read on darks or pastels.) These days he's more likely to be outside with our spawn, tho. They're still at an excitable stage
Thanks for watching! I've always loved the idea of window shopping. It's a great way to see the shops around you or when you travel without having to commit to spending money or buying things that you don't need in the moment.
This was such a delightful video to watch after a very difficult day. I'm London born and raised and I really enjoyed seeing the city through your eyes and coming on this little journey with you. I'm not the most avid knitter (I like the idea of it far more than the reality haha) but this was so charming it's inspiring me to finish the legwarmer project I started back in January and haven't finished yet. I hope you really enjoyed your time in the UK :)
Beautiful Knitters is wonderful! Super knowledgeable, helpful and community minded (they have a poster up advertising my weekly knitting group for me, even though it's at my cafe, and not in their shop) 100% can't recommend enough x
I had to repeat that first shop, Stash, - in “Mt Pleasant” - I live in Charleston, SC - and different sections, one that is a Major part of Charleston, “Mt Pleasant” - what fun - a trip around London to knit stores!!!❤️ so much fun traveling with you, have been to London a couple of times, one of my favorite places !! You have been having a fabulous trip with Ned and also, your family.🎉
Oh that's a neat connection! It's funny to see city and neighborhood names that match where we are from in the states :) Thank you so much for being here!
I LOVE the bags. I think Norman from Nimble Needles uses those Hide & Hammer bags - they really are attractive and sophisticated in appearance, but appear to be great to use too. Plus seriously: Knit with Attitude? What a GREAT name. Terrific Tour Mark.
This was a super tour. Thank you for taking us along. I have two Hyde & Hammer bags and although they are not cheap they are so worth treating yourself when able. ❤
My mom and I visited Stash in 2012 and seeing your video brought back some great memories! I'm impressed you were able to get to soany yarn stores- Loop was closed by the time we got there.
Hi Mark, Thank you (and your husband) so much for sharing your journey to UK. These yarn shops in London are beautiful! As you are still in UK, I wonder whether knitting a Gansey would be an option for you ? 😊 kind regards !
I love to find unusual places to knit or buy yarns on vacations, my favorite place was a grocery store on mackinaw Island in the strats of lake Michigan and lake Huron. They had a corner of the store with some yarn and a large wooden farm table to set at and knit. The most unusual place was a casno lobby! I got a lot of strange looks lol!
I visited Loop this summer. So many lovely things. I'm from The Midlands and Loop is within walking distance of St Pancras station that serves that area of the UK. I'm hoping to visit again next month when I'm back in London overnight. Thank you also for showing the other shops as potential future places to visit 😊
Hi Mark and Ned! Thank you so much for bringing us along on your trip. I love what you have been doing with your vlog: to be truthful, I’ve gotten so tired of the usual “ here’s my CO, here’s my WIP’s and here is my CO..oh, and so and so gifted me with Yada Yada Yada” . You’ve hit the nail on the head as far as content!
Ha! My feet are tired. We tried to limit the walking and take the underground as much as we could! I've worn the same pair of boots for the last 6 weeks - and I'm so so excited to get home and wear all of my other shoes for a change!
I liked seeing the yarn shops, some street scenes and I loved the music. I was knitting with Rowan Felted Tweed as I watched you and perked up when I saw the nice stock of it on the shelf.
Oh my gosh! Those Hide and Hammer bags are dreamy. I am now a follower, of their IG and a consumer of one of their delicious project bags. My husband would call you an “Enabler.” I say you provide crucial access to resources so your followers can live their very best lives. 😉
Thank you, Mark, for allowing us to accompany you on your wonderful tour of these beautiful shops. I live near London and am very much a beginner, so I would feel intimidated to go in them, fearing that the items they stock are way out of my price range. I do most of my yarn shopping online.
Thanks Mark! I am travelling to London on Monday from Sydney and I am so grateful for your ideas for yarn shops to visit. I am going on to Shetland for Wool Week too - so many opportunities to buy more woolly goodness❤❤❤
Thanks Mark..what a gorgeous way to spend the day 😊.. I can see why you love Ned..he's beautiful ❤.. if you ever consider a trip down under..we have an amazing mixture of Creative Fibre here in New Zealand ❤
Londoner here! I know four of these shops very well but I've not heard of Stash ... I'm guessing it must be new. I will have to investigate! I love the fact that the London yarn stores don't overlap too much but cover a huge range of yarns between them.
Thank you, it was great to see all of these shops, I've never been yarn shopping in London, beautiful knitters is really cool, I loved the project bags, may buy one, I have just been looking 😊
Thank you very much for this brief travelog of yarn shops in London. My cousin and his husband live in Battersea, I'm hoping to visit them in the Spring.
I can’t wait to see your videos and really look forward to them. I love the idea of just visiting a yarn shop and just having fun. I probably have many yarn shops nearby that I haven’t even seen yet. I’m going to plan an adventure.
Thank you for this tour! I have been to London once and managed to find Loops but am excited to find the others! I am going back in December so I will be writing down the names of the others.
wonderful video so glad you enjoyed your trip. I live in the London suburbs and have only visited Loop so thanks for this will put these shops on my list
I am soo looking forward to Beautiful Knitters! I have a London trip planned in a month and a half and honestly I've been going through London Yarn crawls on youtube trying to decide which shop to visit, 'cause I'll only have time for one :D. And yeah, Beautiful Knitters seems like a good choice to land on. Thank you for the tour!
Another video made with love. Thank you ❤ I always love the atmosphere of yarnshops, no matter where. There's always something to inspire and push my creativity 😊 Rowans felted tweet is one of those yarns, I have heard a lot about, but still not tried....
Thank you so much for that very kind comment! I like Rowan Felted Tweed - they have colors that really speak to me. I made a sweater from it last year and it was nice to work with. The only thing I noticed that might affect future projects is that the yarn is fairly light. I think it is classified as a DK yarn, but I found it to be more like Sport.
We visited both Beautiful Knitters and Loop. Both shops are really nice. The folks at Loop were very nice and helpful. I bought 3 skeins of yarn exclusive to the shop from the Orkney Islands and made a cowl from them. Thanks for the lovely tour!

this is so lovely to watch for someone who has lived in London for almost my whole life 🥹 so sweet to see shops I never knew about!
Yeah, me too. I do wish he'd said the town they were in, or showed a map.

Lord i do not need anymore yarn 😂, but now i have a good selection of yarn stores to visit when i do!!
Watching your travels is an adventure for retired me who doesn’t have the financial means to travel! Love your music selection!
This is so amazing!
A great tour, perhaps I’ll be able to follow in your footsteps soon . Thanks for sharing your tour. ❤
"Mark, I love experiencing London through your lens and discovering the diverse knitting shops you visit. Thank you and Ned for sharing your wonderful travels!"
aw the little boy promoting his sisters' business. so sweet

They still have them. Check their website.

Awww! It was lovely to meet you both. I wish you told us, you are making this video, we would gift you some BK goodies 😉 Thank you! ❤️
Thank you for making such a good quality video, it was so nice to see what all of these stores carry !
Thanks Mark for this yarn shop tour, it feels like we have been there with you ! Such a calm and cool vibe in your vlog, thanks a lot ! ☀
Lovely video!
Oooooh, I want to travel to London tomorrow and visit all these shops too. Thx for taking us!
Love your video. So peaceful and positive.
Thank you so much!
My daughter and son-in-law are going to London in October, and I am keeping their pup. I think I will put in a request for something fun from one of the shops you took us too. Fun!
Love Beautiful Knitters! The selections of yarns are all so pretty (though relatively expensive) and their staff are super friendly and helpful.

Ha! Our suitcases were already at max capacity, so that helped keep me restrained!
I live in Islington and you’ve just reminded me to visit Loop again! Camden Passage is such a gorge street.
I loved visiting all these beautiful little shops with you. Such fun to see all the wonderful yarns and all the accessories that go along with kntting/crocheting.

Thx for the tour. Just “found you” today. Enjoying it immensely. Pls if ever back in Europe let me know, I will take you round Copenhagen/Denmark. 💕
I'm an American living near London. I've been to a few of these shops but plan on checking them all out! Thank you. Great video
I love this, like virtual shopping. I don’t live far from London but have never been to shop for yarn there so loved seeing this, Thank you ☺️
I live in England, so thank you for touring the shops, some of them I know, some others I didn't know!
We are heading to London next month and now I can’t wait to explore these beautiful yarn stores that you have visited.
Greetings from Finland! i'm looking forward to see your new videos again 😍
I do hope that the little cat at the end has a home. Thank you for this trip to London. I was really pleased that you visited Wild and Woolly as Anna is my go-to person when shopping online. I certainly spotted the Garthenor sock yarn she sells that I’m addicted to.
Yes, that little cat was with their new owner, just coming home from an appointment at the vet 😻
What a great day out! I’m a Londoner. I really must do this one day. I’ve purchased from a few of these shops online but think I’ve only visited one in person. Great video. Thank you
Thank you for showing the yarn stores. I'm going on the NYC Yarn Crawl on Friday.
When we were in London last year we went to Beautiful Knitters. They were so welcoming! I love their shop!!
Thank you! I hit the yarn shops when I travel too with my very patient partner who stands outside and does some people watching while I shop…
People watching is great! Ned is very good to come along to yarn shops - sometimes he tuckers out after the second or third hour...
Mine comes in and admires anything I put in his hands. Even when he can't see it, lol. (He's visually impaired & can't get a read on darks or pastels.) These days he's more likely to be outside with our spawn, tho. They're still at an excitable stage
Loop is a lovely shop. Thank you for the Beautiful Knitters shop. I'm heading there Wednesday.
Thank you so much! I'll make sure to pass by these shops when visiting london next month
Mark, you’re always very inspiring. Thanks for the trip to London.
Thank you for showing those nice shopes. I love knitting and I'm learning English, I liked the expression "window shopping", I do a lot of it😀
Thanks for watching! I've always loved the idea of window shopping. It's a great way to see the shops around you or when you travel without having to commit to spending money or buying things that you don't need in the moment.

Oh lovely! I'll have to daydream about getting one for myself down the road!
This looks like a wonderful day out!!!!!
Last July I was in London and got to two yarn shops, and visited beautiful knitters and loop. Both were so much fun to visit.
How nice! I think it's so fun to see shops during a trip - even if we don't leave with bags full of wool. Thank you for watching!
You are so lovely ☺️ sending this over to my brother now xx
Yay! I'm glad this video found its way to you - everyone is raving about your bags - I look forward to purchasing my first one down the road!
My mom and I visited Stash in 2012 and seeing your video brought back some great memories! I'm impressed you were able to get to soany yarn stores- Loop was closed by the time we got there.
It took most of the day to get around! I'm glad you were able to visit!

Going to London in October from USA. This vlog came up just at the right time.
I live in London . I feel inspired to do a yarn shop crawl with my creative friends. Thank you!
Loved the video. I live in London and I’ll definitely visit these shops when I have the opportunity.
It's nice to see all the different yarn shops abroad
Hi Mark and Ned! Thank you so much for bringing us along on your trip. Enjoyed the tour Mark. Love to watch you knit, mesmerising. I never visit London so it was interesting to see all that gorgeous yarn. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to watch! I like that people are able to travel with me through RUclips.
I am going to London at Christmas, I am obsessed by knitting and crocheting, I will have to buy some yarn in London
Nice to see things in person even if your not buying at the time then you can store that info for later.
Looks like it was a lovely day.
Yes! That's a great way to think about it :)
I loved beautiful knitters when I went there this past July!
I liked seeing the yarn shops, some street scenes and I loved the music. I was knitting with Rowan Felted Tweed as I watched you and perked up when I saw the nice stock of it on the shelf.
I love Rowan felted tweed! I've got a bin full of it stored in my craft room. One day I'll get to those sweaters...

Hi Mark. Just finished watching. I enjoyed it sooo much. It’s 3 in the morning here so it was great to catch the podcast just as it was put out.
Thanks for being the first to watch, Night Owl! :)
