- On this Halloween night's spooktacular VG Myths: we brave a Brainless challenge in Stubbs the Zombie for the original Xbox, a game where you play as a zombie. Turns out you're supposed to eat them!

there really was something special about games made from 1998-2006
we had so many unique games where they let the player decide how they wanted to complete the game, i miss it

@@Sage_the_Turt the big difference back then was they had to keep the player coming back and back then the internet wasn't able to support the modern day shady tactics. Yes some companies did them, for example the legend of Zelda cd games, but it was harder back then. Now they can just have the players keep themselves busy and have micro transactions supply money like crazy. I really only play Nintendo and atlus games from aaa anymore because of this. Corporate greed at the time meant it had to supply a decent experience.

oh man... THIS game... i grew up with this game ever since i was 3 years old and it holds a SPECIAL place in my heart. the characters, gameplay, story, environment, humor, EVERYTHING is so goddamn good. definitely an underrated gem. i love this game so much

Not a phrase I was expecting to hear today, or ever.
This was one of my favorite games as a kid. Looking back now, I never realized how smooth the animations are. Probably gonna play this unfortunately underappreciated gem again sometime soon

I’m genuinely wondering what this game is like WITH brain eating, and how central of a mechanic it actually is
Good health regen, ability regen
Well, the idea is to regen health, abilities, finish enemies off quicker and so on. You don't need to even engage in combat if your enemies have their back turned, just grab and chow down.
Best part is zombie army
It regens a bit of health and refills abilities
It refills abilities and a small amount of health but health is normally regenerated on its own
how fitting that this video appears on my feed right after it gets announced for switch

I have a challenge run from a not very heard of game, but please try it anyway. Lunar Knights Nightmare mode at level 1. Only rules are you stay at level 1 for the play through. All weapons and weapon upgrades are allowed. To keep yourself at level one, there is a boot that doubles money gained from enemies, but blocks exp. All terennials (elements you use in the game) are unlocked after the first play through, but the challenge is difficult enough that you can use them at all times, even when you shouldn’t have them unlocked yet. Good luck challenge runners
@1998SIMOMEGA I’ve been doing the challenge myself, and it’s a nightmare, no pun intended. I beat it starting at level 1, but staying at level one is a big difference. So far I made it to the train station, but this run is going to take a very long time.

From the first few seconds of the video this game just looks like Destroy All Humans for the PS2 except zombies instead of aliens

You should try Shovel Knight: King of Cards with minimum jumps! No jumps is impossible, but my personal best is 8, and it’s a really satisfying run to play.

@@Shadethe13th but Plague is almost completely different to King, so getting through Plague isn’t the same as King, it’s like how GC played through two games with the same engine for challenge runs of the same challenge (that being Rockman and Rockman 2 without taking damage), the games pretty much just share assets, the engine, sprites, music and story, the character move sets and the stage layouts are almost completely different

You should do something I dubbed the Dragon Age Inquisition "Insane Challenge". I haven't personally seen any challenges of the dragon age games, which us a shame because there's so much potential. Speedruns don't count, as those are everywhere. Here are the rules:
1. Play on Nightmare difficulty. I believe this is unlocked after finishing a normal playthrough.
2. Turn on every challenge. This includes things like friendly fire, grizzly end, fairweather friends, and rub some dirt on it. These can be activated by choosing custom when selecting difficulty. Choose it, turn on every tab, and pick nightmare as the difficulty.
3. You're only allowed to use your starting weapons and abilities, and upgrades aren't allowed. I'll give two exceptions. The mark of the rift ability is given to you during the story, and it's forced onto you. You can remove it, but I will allow you to use it should you so choose. But no upgrades. I will also allow you the armor set the game gives you at some point in the beginning. You are allowed to wear it if you want to.
4. No potions, tonics, or grenades except for your basic healing potion.
5. No accessories. Again, the only exception will be the Mercy's Crest amulet, as it doesn't give any stat buffs or abilities. The only thing is does is make one single combat have less enemies. It's not even a required combat. But if you want to leave it off, go ahead.
6. These rules apply to all party members as well. Meaning that the only three that will have abilities on them will be Cassandra, Varric, and Solas. The others you would normally spend ability points on, but since upgrading isn't allowed, that's not possible.
7. Hunt all ten dragons. There is an eleventh in the three DLCs but this challenge is for the main game. But if you want to do the DLCs, go right ahead.
Here is a tip I found helpful, as I'm attempting this myself. Pick archer. The stealth ability will let you sneak past enemies that are too difficult. The long range will keep you far from combat.
That should be everything! If you choose to do it, good luck!
Edit: The mark of the rift has one required use, but you can position it to have little effect. Also, I have occasionally gotten a glitch were the enemies just don't attack me. It was very helpful. This is expected, as the game tells you this could happen when you turn the challenges on.

Legit I just learned it... now. Not from this comment but when I hovered over the subscribe thing during the Multiple Personality Soldier. I know the "I don't see race/gender" line doesn't help at all but I always just saw Gamechamp as Gamechamp. Just a cool person who's entertaining and good at the vidya. Good to see the support and the discovery helped you as well though.

I fucking LOVE this game! I'm so glad you covered it, it's one of the best games of the time and everything about it is so fucking fun. The soundtrack in particular just... RULES. Can we talk about how fucking dope that cover of Mr. Sandman is? Or the My Boyfriend's Back cover by the Raveonettes, or the AWESOME Flaming Lips cover of If I Only Had A Brain. It all rules so much.
