All it is missing is lives
@@solitarioerrante4296 Same. I just assumed I was being bad at video games
I played Metroid II two years ago and it ended up somehow being my favorite 2D Metroid (I haven't played Zero Mission in years though and haven't played Fusion past the first few areas, so either one of those is likely to surpass it once I get around to 'em) but the constant copy-pasting of rooms literally led me to using a map and *still* ending up searching the ENTIRE planet from bottom-to-top-to-bottom trying to find one last Metroid, which turned out to be in a room that looked exactly like *another room I killed a Metroid in.* So yeah that was a slight tiny little annoyance. Never take for granted the fact that videogame rooms look different from each other now!

I also remember having a similar problem in Metroid 2, but it was much less annoying in comparasion to some unfair moments in the first game.
I am forever grateful to all the gamers in the 80s who managed to delude themselves into making this game a success. Without them Nintendo might never have made the GBA Metroids, which rank as some of my favourite games of all time.

The thing that amazes me is that programming on duct tape is _technically_ possible! So... fun fact. You can beat this with out killing anything. But it is not possible in our life time. If you leave the game running for 300 some years NES version at least. Mother Brain will be dead when you get to it. There is a password for that on the NES version of the game.
