Haven't played this piece, but I've met Galante. He was a clinician at a high school band clinic I attended. It's very enlightening having the composer teach his own music. We only shook hands... I should've gotten his autograph
I got his autograph last year; he was our band director for the district band event. Such a cool and fun guy, plus heś personal friends with my band director.
This is a high school? All the time I wish I was raised in a school this good, just so i would be better. It kind of makes me sad that it's not like that.
Knightmare 87112 peek at the description, it’s a little hard to admit. For the past month I’ve been aiming to be really good at the Flute, all I have been doing is practicing!
Currently playing this piece in my senior year of high school (Grad year 2022). I've been with the same band and band director for 6 years, and I'm already feeling the nostalgia. Man, it's just so nice being in my band and knowing these people for so long. I am not the best french horn player, but I'll do my best to give the piece the respect it deserves.
This is the greatest piece of music to be heard by a human being in the history of planet earth. This song belongs in a museum for people to listen to thousands of years later.
This piece was commissioned by one of the senior classes a few years back at my high school as a graduation gift for our band teacher. We are playing it this year (my junior year) and I abolutely love it!
This piece was commissioned by the seniors of North Haven High School class of 2014, who raised money to have the piece written for the senior concert. We performed it at our senior concert. It was dedicated to Kenneth Tedeschi, and his name is mentioned in the inscription below the title. It was a great experience.
you wouldn't do this in marching band this would be your high school's concert band. and I totally recommend doing marching band anyways because you can learn a lot of new things and you make tons of new friends
in middle school, i said the same thing you're saying. but i stuck with it and now i wouldn't trade it for the world, and next year ill be studying music ed in college. you never know, you might just end up loving it.
Even better idea - Bb1. It’s higher, for sure, but you could feasibly have a *lot* more people playing it (Trombones/Baritones/Tubas/String Basses/Bass Clarinet?/Contrabass Clarinet/Bassoon/Contrabassoon) - it’d also help that the 3-valve Baris and triggerless Trombones could actually play those notes without using false tones, so there’s some extra body in that. Maybe get the Tubas & Contrabassoons to play Bb0 (+ String Basses could also maybe drop tube down there) for extra unholiness? Yeah…..I get excited quickly. I love to see this sort of idea anywhere, regardless of how it’s done
This is around a level 6-8 and my band teacher wants to push this song for an 8th grade band next year which I'm going to be in ;-; ( though it is true that the intermediate band I'm in is really advance, according to the state we should be playing 1.5's to 2's but we play in between 3.5's and 5's pieces like novena by James swearingen, Nathan hale trilogy, and mountain King by George something idk forgot his name )
Alex Moore damn. My director pushes a lot too XD. He wants to do duel of dates and imperial march which are both like level 7 this year. Also we got an insane song like a month ago called deja view. It's easy for winds but I feel bad for percussion.
Then again is it y'all or horns that have a harder part? Y'all have a lot technique necessary, but horns have the range and they still have to get a good sound.
It allows Galante to be really flexible with notes to have no key signature. There are also so many accidentals that a key signature would be essentially useless. You can still transcribe it, just do it using the no flat no sharp key for every instrument and then add in the accidentals.
Not bad. I don't know if it is the band but I didn't enjoy this as much as some of the composer's other pieces. Plus surprised there is no Eb clarinet part especially for a Grade 5 piece.
I was the tuba player in this recording! I love this piece so much!
Roberto Ramos Brito Really? That's awesome!
You are now officially a hero of mine. My Symphonic band at school is going to play this, and I hope we do good enough that you'd be proud to hear it.
Roberto Ramos Brito Nice job! I'm a tuba also. You sounded great! I hope I can play this piece one day
im sean pickard i was an all state tuba player in 06 and 07 at west genny
Tuba player here also! I loved this piece so much! Probably the best bass line I ever played!

@@andrewkimtrumpet I got to meet him over a video call! Awesome guy 👌
I have never heard a High School that sounds like this!!! 👏. The 2nd flute solo gives me the chills!
Galante... Always there to make the most magical pieces ever! I love him
God those horns in the beginning
+RedstoneManiac They weren't that bad tho
+Matthew LeFebvre No, I mean, they are FANTASTIC
***** There were some spots though were they messed up, not as good as the ones we have.
+RedstoneManiac West Genny horn section for you ;)
Such a powerful song
The bass clarinet parts, the horn parts, the high woodwinds, everything is beautiful. 🥰
So fortunate to have been able to work with Rossano on this piece and record it for him and have him actually conduct our band for the recording!
cool
Lucky!!
Horn player here, this piece is SO fun to play. I’m currently playing it in class, and WOW. It’s just *chefs kiss*

Knightmare 87112 Sorry to say, but some of the winds in this recording are kind of rough, so there’s no way it can be a college

I cried when I played this piece, it has to be the most beautiful piece I've played so far
Try Whispers from Beyond by same composer
@@jakemf1 i just listened to it, it was absolutely phenomenal, thank you so much
Holy crap this needs to be my alarm
when my high school band played this i was in 8th grade (i was in the band a year early) and was the only euphonium
Really hope my band will play this within the next 2 years! i’m in love with this piece😍
Shell North did you guys play it?
This is the greatest piece of music to be heard by a human being in the history of planet earth. This song belongs in a museum for people to listen to thousands of years later.
Props to the solo grace notes in the piccolo to start the piece. Interesting orchestration choice, but it sounds super cool.
Pieces like this cannot get thumbs down!
+Nathan St John No! It got two! How can this happen?
Matthew LeFebvre Five*
and now 10 :'(
There are died in the wool grunge rockers out there everywhere.
I went to a band camp at the University of Virginia and I played the Euphonium and this was one of the pieces we played. I love it so much
I wanna play this so bad!!
I’m 90% sure that this piece was commissioned by my high school a few years back as a gift for our director
Tim Yang idk probably
I PLAYED THIS MY JUNIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND IT’S MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE ❤️
i love this guy's music!
Wow! I love the harmony with the flute and clarinet!

I played Piccolo RIP ears, so many high notes
I love this piece ❤️❤️❤️
the beginning makes me wish i play french horn
eavin PLAY IT!!
Kermit the frog's stalkish uncle i play clarinet lol
eavin I see another clarinet player appreciates French Horn. I play bass clarinet.
amen
2:58 - 4:30 is the best thing to ever come out of a composer
Saxophone player in this recording😋
me too. Im from korea
4:08 have fun winds
It’s really just a chromatic scale going down but that tempo is a yikes
2:09 is so amazing, those trombones,, makes me loves playing that instrument- and then the mystical horn part at 2:16 makes the part even better
We have to play this for band and I hate doing the runs. (flute player)
Runs are just so fun in flute. Especially when they go through multiple octaves.
The only Rossano Falange piece that’s different from his others
Best part hands down: 4:01
what a fantastic arrangement. i would love to play this with a group.
this piece is sad. not criticizing it but it is good it makes me sad.
kind of. Sounds like something from ancient greece
I'm not even a band kid and I think this is amazing
Woah, legendary song
i wanna play this so bad. im only in middle school so this probably wont happen
That's why you go to high school band
Ben Hummel obviously. But marching band looks like too much work. I don't wanna be wearing a suit in 90° weather
you wouldn't do this in marching band this would be your high school's concert band. and I totally recommend doing marching band anyways because you can learn a lot of new things and you make tons of new friends

My high school's wind ensemble played this and they were really good.
playing this for euphonium as a freshman! it's hard but so rewarding!
Libby Keledjian oml Libby I found you ~Savannah Jenkins
Libby Keledjian I played it on Euphonium and it was hard😂 but after the practice I love it so much
This is a whole movie
If they make something similar to this, the bass trombone, the contrabasses, and the tubas should play their lowest notes at C1.
Even better idea - Bb1. An amazing piece for sure
I almost play this piece, got study for months
I'd play Flugel, mad flutes parts
I got addicted in this meanwhile
It's this my Grand song!!
ya

One of the bands we have in our town is nuts. We have 6th graders playing grade 4 music, and they're playing it well. Our directors push us a lot.
im a senior in hs and im playing nathan hale trilogy lol

I am going to recommend this to my director right now
um 4:08 well then
Keylin Boyd Ahahahah ikr. I was like, well dam. I guess that'll never be me
I am doing this piece right now as a flute player, and it wasn’t bad till my director took it full tempo….
Pretty magnificent sonority throughout this piece.
...rossano galante.
Bass clarinet part is great
Joshua Fisher I agree. It’s almost like a clarinet part in difficulty and I had a lot of fun with it.
@@avah9721Nice. I hope my band plays at least one of his pieces. I also play bass clarinet.
Those who say Rossano Galante is cliché... but are perfectly ok with playing a ton of Karl King marches?
my senior highschool band sight read that today :) or attempted to xD
Haha poor woodwinds at 4:09
Then again is it y'all or horns that have a harder part? Y'all have a lot technique necessary, but horns have the range and they still have to get a good sound.
I’m playing this right now as a flute player, and I was doing fine till my director took it to full tempo 😭
I know about the 7/8 part, but ahhhhh that ending F minor chord.....
My band played this and i was one of 2 horns.
why the signature are all the same????? i want to transcribe it but the piece does not have a key signature. :((((
pls nswer me :( I like this piece
ill soi I'm pretty sure the key signature is written in the accidentals. It's one of those pieces without a key signature.

4:10 HOW?
Does anyone in this recording play the 16th note run at 2:17?
CorrosiveRi0T yeah but it’s slower and doesn’t seem like it
@@annika9953 what no they play it fine
Mister Smith II ya know this was two years ago and I have absolutely no memory of saying that or why I even did, listening back now I totally hear it

@@michaelolmoz225 honestly me too, deaf and dumb lmao

Yeah that oboe is a tad luckluster
I was in highschool when i made this comment...jesus
These guys are 5th graders?!
+Linus Lau No, this is a High School group. Grade 5 is just an indicator of the difficulty of the piece.
+Linus Lau No, the _music_ is Grade 5, which means it is pretty difficult.
+Linus Lau lol
grade 5 is for11 graders because if they started 7 grade then they have been playing for 5 years
power to the chicken horse thats not what it means... It's just a level of difficulty. Not everyone started playing in 7th grade.
The horns yikes
Why did they choose this band?..
girl wtf they did great
heuuu... C'est donc ben faux!
+Catherine Malenfant Catherine, tu veux dire quoi le mot "faux"? xD
thumbs down
Boi, tf is wrong with you?
Do you really have to tell us that? c'mon
No
Well, it’s the bottom comment. I see why.
