Surprised to not see fey wanderer here. It might be one of the most fey flavorful classes

I am currently playing a Druid of dreams. Their background is that they were a human that was "adopted" by an archfey and taught all kinds of fey nature magic, They have the Fey touched feat and the feylost background, I question if they count as a fey technically.

I could see a 6lvls ancestral guardian/rest dreams druid work rather nicely at the very least in terms of being a nuisance to the foe and having a complete use of your action economy. The spirits make you a bit more of an obvious target, letting you protect your allies more, your reaction reduces damage when they do get attacked and the bonus action picks up fallen allies. If we take the mark of warding dwarf we get temp hp in armor of agathys and extra oepsie with fire shield. Add to this the dwarven fortitude feat and can regain hitdice of either our wildshape or druid/barb. I could see a reason to dip 3 lvls of warlock for gift of the ever-living one though or the durable feat.😊

I am afraid you way over estimate effectiveness of Wild Shape in combat: normally I dont think CR 1 creature can last long against higher tier opponents. I have heard something about Giant Badger and Burrow Speed but not sure DM is ok with that.
Druid already can cast Speak with animal and Detect Magic as Ritual Casting so spending Invocation on those would be quite wasteful.
At least Mask of Many Faces (spammable Disguise Self) and Actor combo would be great for social encounter. Something any Druid can grab with Eldritch Adept.
By the way, what was benefit of going 2 lv of Arch Fae? If you went 2 lvs deeper Glamour Bard, not only you can get Bardic Inspiration back on Short Rest, but also can Ritual Cast Tiny Hut.

Sounds like a case of artificial nerfing. Druids have a very detailed list of what it already can't do in regards to wildshape. To throw more limits on this very feature is the real waste. Throwing a concentration spell and then burrowing underground to stay out of sight is very tactical. Or climb op trees and other surfaces with footing. Not to mention some creatures have spider climb at those CR. If your DM wants to cripple a character feature beyond it's limits then you might want to stop playing that class entirely.

not having flying or swimming speed is not a bad thing at those early levels. Plenty of beast can burrow and climb at those CR.

I think burrow speeds are severely underestimated by a lot of people

@@DapperSnapperGaming I agree no one really thinks about it unless it's an enemy. Druids get access to this at a very very early lvl. Perfect for keeping out of enemy reach which is what every does and should be allowed to do within the boundaries of the wildshape restrictions.

I mean what's stopping you from throwing down Faerie Fire and going underground?

@@DapperSnapperGaming a salty DM that doesn't like early lvl druid shenanigans. Because that is what the real power of wildshape is. Being able to tell the DM that I don't have to follow the rules of this fight 😋😋
