The problem with this subclass is that Druid is an amazing spellcaster and these features generally clash with that. I think the 2nd level feature should apply to all weapon/spell attacks within 10 feet of your Spores. Casting 2nd/3rd level spells seems better damage or support oriented than using some of your Spore features. Other changes I'd implement: -Halo of Spores radius increased to 15 ft and then 30ft at 10th level. No action/BA/Reaction. Once a turn per enemy. Damage is 1d6/1d8/1d10/1d12 at lvl 2/4/7/10 Anything you're fighting at 6th+ level probably has an easy time getting close to you or being threatening so I don't see an issue with increasing the radius. The Con save is influenced by any increases to your Spell Save through items/weapons/etc. -Symbiotic Entity applies the necrotic damage to all weapon/spell attacks and spell damage (i.e. Moonbeam) as long as you're in your Halo of Spores radius. Damage goes from 1d4/1d6/1d8/1d10 at levels 2/4/7/10. Temp HP is still 4 per Druid level and it lasts up to 2 minutes. The temp hit points will stay until depleted (you're using your WILD SHAPE after all). -Fungal Infestation. I like your changes, but I'd remove the reaction for it or increase the Zombie timer to be hours equal to your Wisdom modifier. (so max 5 hours). Alternate design is any enemy that has been damaged by your Halo of Spores and dies will have their head explode in a cloud of necrotic spores dealing your Halo of Spores attack in a 15ft radius. Then the enemy becomes a zombie under your control with a mushroom head (using the base design features). Zombies will eventually be a throwaway at higher levels to having them explode to deal some damage is better than nothing. -Spreading Spores. I'd change this to spread a cone of spores 60 feet in front of you, 30ft wide. You may choose the targets your spores attack (bonus action). Targets must make a constitution save or take twice your Halo of Spores damage and become Poisoned for 1 round or take half damage and not become poisoned on a save. This Poison bypasses immunity to Poison as it becomes more of an acid/poison spray once attached. You can use this up to your Wisdom Modifier and must take a long rest to replenish. Gotta give them something unique to do that other classes can't. -Fungal Body. I wouldn't change much but Adamantine Armor is easy to come by so I'd remove the anti-crit and just add that you resist all damage while your Symbiotic Entity feature is active or until your Temp HP is gone. Good video though. Liked your insight as it made me think about how I'd improve it as well. It definitely needs help and I hope it's revamped in the new 5.5e update.

Honestly love they you are sticking to the 2014 guns. 1 it is easier to explain “I started 2014 and I’m staying 2014” than trying to shift it now. And 2 I’m sure you live the idea of more videos handed to you lol. I know I would. But honestly as much as I’m sure this build is going to do work. I can’t give up my divine soul 6/ undead warlock 14. Level 1 sorc Next 14 warlock Then final 5 sorc. Instead of using a bunch of warpons you use concentration for vampiric touch and enervation. Spells that give that witch bolt, use your actions to cast the spell again type effects. It makes you fairly tanky by the fact that you recover hit points by dealing damage. The sorc dip gives both access to the entire sorcerer and cleric spell list. And that con proficiency. And even more cantrips, which give damage and effect versatility if wanted. And favored by the gods to either clutching an attack or primarily, secure your con saves. I rolled stats and got a nice but not crazy spread so not sure about asi’s if using a standard array. Went reborn for bonuses to skill checks as well as a short long rest. Late game on top of beating an endurance race you can, and I calculated it, easily make 45 skeletons or zombies or maintain control of 63 all before your party finishes their long rest and not have spent a single resource, assuming your dm let’s you chain short rests. Granted that is level 19-20 but honestly I don’t. Care too much. Never fail a con save, out live the mightiest of paladins, and drain your foes with the touch of death, before adding them to your collection of the shambling dead.

I’m looking forward to seeing some folks review Hexblade with the new 2024 base subclass. It seems like it’s still viable but I’m curious to see more opinions.

I'd like to see your take on a Variant Human glaive wielding Battlemaster lvl5 + bear totem lvl3 focusing on great weapon mastery and polearm mastery, just started a campaign playing this combo and I'm curious what it'll be diffrent from your take ;)

Does Hex Blade still work with the 2024 rules. I didn't find this subclass in the new book.

Me personally my undead warlock uses either big aoe damage spells or concentration spells that let me hit multiple times with one spell slot. Since the features only trigger once a turn I want it attacked to a big hit. Sure EB gives a larger chance to get hem attempt off but being able to effectively upcast vampiric touch an extra level. Or make that cone of cold (not sure if that is from my staff or my character but going with it) hit everyone a little harder. Yes please. Vampiric touch, enervation, etc. bonus points those 2 also already do necrotic damage and heal based on damage dealt. Combined with one level of divine soul sorcerer for con proficiency, access to inflict wounds and the favored by the gods. First and last one bothe helping keep concentration up. And the other for an extra shot of touch based necrotic. I took chain boon because vampiric touch lets me cast it from the familiars place. Having an imp or quasit they can turn invisible and give advantage to the roll. Been a blast to play.

For Pact of the Tome warlocks, they can take the Book of Ancient Secrets invocation to unlock ritual casting instead of taking the ritual caster feat. The invocation might be less costly than a feat, but I guess you can't do this with a Chain, Talisman, or Blade pact warlock. Book of Ancient Secrets is one of my favourite invocations for Tome warlocks and I was sad to see it didn't make it into the 2024 PHB =( I will be asking my DM if I can still use it though 😂 all this aside, I agree that the spell list for this warlock is not amazing.

One of my favorite changes is how they rolled the Hexblade's ability to attack using charisma into the Pact of the Blade option. I feel like it should have just been that way from the beginning.

Thanks for the good content. I appreciate you sticking with the 2014 content through to the end, just for completeness sake. By the time you get to 2024 stuff, I even feel like it'll be time for fresh eyes on that material, the DMG will be out, maybe even the Monster Manual, and it won't be behind the curve as much as it may feel. With 5.5 e I would trade PAM with elven accuracy and 2 lvls on fighter, with 3 attacks, you have 61% crit chance to triger the bonus action attack in GWM, with 6 attacks, 84% (with 19-20 crit)

Correct me if I am wrong, but at level 5 with the Summon Fey, you still have to concentrate on the Summon Fey, so you cannot use hex. Not to say that Summon Fey is bad. It's still great to have a smaller darkness in order not to troll your party.

This is such an underrated video, and I can’t tell you how much this helped me! As a players who’s only been in the game for a year or two, I love diving into the role play of unique characters, but I don’t always mechanically know where to go with it. This video helped guide me so much! 😄

I've never had any interest in playing a PAM character before, I think mainly because it has a reputation for being overpowered with the GWM+PAM+Sentinal feat combo, but it has recently piqued my interest and I am considering a warlock build like this! I also love the idea of a dual wielding warlock for this build, that's really neat.

Please rank Barbarian 5/Rogue 15? The strategy is to do Rogue 1, then Barbarian 5 for Bear Totem, and devote everything else toward realizing Phantom Rogue to the fullest. Bugbear with a rapier, taking Ability Score improvements to get 20 STR and 20 DEX, sneak attack at level 20 is 8d6 and quite viable since we have advantage thanks to rage, which makes us almost completely invulnerable to damage, then we can wail from the grave for another 4d6, and assuming that we’re attacking something that hasn’t moved in combat we can apply surprise attack to that as well, dealing an extra 2d6 of damage thanks to Bugbear - that’s what I’m talking bout.

Quickened Spell is quite nice on Watchers. Watcher’s Will takes an action to activate, which clashes with Bless. Use Watchers, cast Quickened Bless, and stand next to allies. Now they have + CHA + 1d4 to all their saves, + advantage to their mental saves. If you’ve invested in CHA, that’s an average + 6.5 to every save, and + 11.5 to mental saves (advantage is roughly equivalent to +5)

Great spell list and aside from the spector, great abilities. Love a hexblade! I really want to tempt a warlock into doing stuff for extra uses of the curse...

It took me far to long to realise this was for 2014 Warlock 🥴 - Good video as far as I saw, but my games are all using 2024 PHB now. I'll be back if/when you do an updated series. 👍

My first Warlock (also my first Bard) was a Great Old One Pact of the Tome Warlock. And I loved him. A bajillion cantrips (I actually took Eldritch Blast last simply because I already had all the other cantrips I wanted), and control/debuff spells galore. Though I was most often swapping between Vicious Mockery and Mind Sliver, depending on the situation.
