Because one would probably (I bet the instructions show this) have it sitting on a flat surface and allow the "top" to extend from the base to allow replacement of the cleaning solution. The fact that he was trying to cram the solution into the device without removing the plastic cap tells me no instructions were read.
You save my life on that one. I just bought that same kit at Sam’s Club here in the US and with their Instant savings they had on it that day I paid $129 for it! But I didn’t know how to do anything to it. The only thing is there is one extra head that goes on it that I can’t figure out what it’s for but I’m going to attach it and try it I’m sure I’ll figure it out. But you helped me a lot and thank you.

Yes you can. The charging dock is plugged in with a cord. Just unplug the cord from the dock and plug it directly into the razor.
