Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪. Loved the review with the British slang words 👍🏻👍🏻. Bought myself the Braun 9 Pro and only had old-school shavers before. I still wait for it to arrive. 🧑🏻💻
This is the thing that I want to see. An honest, proper bloke testing these on himself and sharing his honest, practical opinion. I don't want to see no commission-induced corporate article or a mash-up of stock and company ad footages. Thank you.
was looking for reviews so i could figure out which shaver to get for my boyfriend, and i was pleasantly surprised with this video, as a fellow brit i have to say this is the most british review i have ever seen and i love it mate, keep up the great work youre hilarious 🙏
I own 3 new razors. Norelco 5000 aqua touch and the 5000x & a Braun series 3. Both Norelcos shave very well dry, haven’t tried wet shave yet but even though they shave very close and comfortable I can go behind the norelco with the Braun series 3 and it takes off more and feels more smoother but honestly either of the 3 are great razors. You can’t go wrong with either of the 3 razors and all under $70 in the USA. Hope this comment helps someone cause this is my honest review.
This question is an easy one for me. Rotary takes off the most in the shortest amount of time, and the newer 7-8 blades rotaries are replacing the 3-5 head versions. The Braun foil will shave more closely, and it's better for getting under the nose, below the lip, and around the next. I use both, rotary first, then Braun series 7. Combined, they're 95% as close as a blade. If I'm going to a really fancy event, I'll use a blade, but that's only once or twice a year. The benefit of electric is that I can shave every day if I want to. Update: I take that back about using the Braun for under the nose and under the lip. The newer Brauns don't have a head lock feature which my old Braun 7 Series does. You need that feature to be able to do a good job in those hard to reach areas.
Picked up the Braun Series 5 recently. Combined with a pre-electric shave (Lectric) it gets me a better shave than my DE and with no irritation. For trouble spots I want to smooth out, there's enough slickness to hit it quick with a blade and be done.
I guess you didn’t read the Philips IQskin brochure. In that manual it reads that after the first two, three shaves the built in sensors provide a map of your face contours and the density of your facial hairs. Thus, from the third shave you should expect a much closer shave than before. I saw that for myself and after a few not so close shaves, now my rotary S5585 shaves the closest I’ve ever seen from an electric shaver. Also, mine has self sharpening technology as well so no need to any other accessories but the tap water.
Have different philips shavers with all the marketed features and they are exactly as explained in this review - not very close and always some hair sticking out, especially if you miss a day of shaving. Will try a braun!
Tried brown and Philips. The rotary not as close as brown but faster and more efficient under the neck or angles. Also longer bird 3/4 days more. Difficult and painful compared to rotary Philips and not.
That little extra trimmer head is something to really look for. When my old shaver broke, I bought a Braun model that doesn't have the trimmer. Now I can't easily get at the hairs that are too long, and if I forget to shave I'm screwed. Problem is it's a Braun so it's a reliable, quality thing that I've now been stuck with for the past 7 years :D
I need something that's gonna plough off 7 days growth, coz I'm too lazy to share multiple times a week..... This video hasn't helped me choose my next shaver but it gave me a bloody good laugh... Thanks for posting 👍🏻😂
You can sharpen rotary blades yourself, using some polish and a small mirror, search RUclips for the how-to video. That way, you don't have to buy new blades every 3 months.
Went from a Panasonic foil (12 year before it died) to a philips rotary and absolutely hate it! You summed itup perfectly here. I'm going to try a braun series 5. Thank God for Amazon returns!
I went from a rotary to a foil (Braun) and I absolutely hate the Braun. I'm switching back to the Phillips rotary when the Braun wears out......hopefully soon.
i'd like to agree wiv ya but i think the main reason why people go electric is cause they got a sensitive littl' baby face like this geeza if i went for a cartridge my face would have more craters than the frickin moon pal
I have no sensitive skin but tired of time waste every morning and going for gel and brush and so on. Also I suppressed my obsession with shaving closeness and surprisingly nothing bad happened and I still managed to keep my job!!.
Foil seems better, but what about the rotary ones that have an additional trimmer head or the Braun 5 that also has an optional trimmer head? Till we buy one, what do you suggest we clean the Wahl Trimmer with? Older model, but only one that hasn't died on us, newer models die with the first drop.
thanks for the review. I decided to buy the braun series 9, hopefully it works well. I would like to give you a one piece of advice for your channel, you have a great sense of humor, I think you only need to work a bit on the video Montage and Thumbnail, and your channel will get more success. Good luck (:
I have a doubt, it does always turn the light of the replacement on when you finish your shaving? How will I know when you need to replace it? Does it change to red or something?
Nice video, you're so funny :D. yeh, as anticipated Braun way better but, I think one blade changed the equation you know, for price to how good and close, and how durable the blade is.
So ive used a braun s300 since like 2017. i dropped it and one of the heads broke so i decided to try a rotary one (a Philips 5000 S5467) but it was complete garbage. It didn't shave very close at all, it gave me razor burn and it wasen't very comfortable. my old braun with its its 6 year old head still did a better job. The rotaty one was better at the neck (since the braun one hardly does anything there) but other than that it was just inferior
Here’s the issue. I got little pimples on my face (not too much). I shave my whole face everyday because i got a baby face. Which razor do you recommend me getting? Thanks
I have one question. How close shave I can get with Andis compared to cartridge razor, i know Panasonic Arc 5 is maybe best electric shaver but it's expensive and i can't find it in my country.
braun gives the more consistent shave - panasonic is more varied when you examine spots on your face...and i could use the braun more consistently aswell because it doesn't hurt my face nearly as much as the panny but the panasonic is slightly closer
My only memory with Braun goes back to 15 years ago and as a teen I bought my first ever electric shaver which was a Braun 3 foil. After 4-5 times I used with cuts and bleedings it stopped working one day and found nowhere to repair it!. Don’t know about todays and the new series.
I've had the braun series 9 for a while. It does a good job of getting close but my beard grain grows in different directions - which is still causing ingrown hairs. I'll be picking up the s9000 prestige by Phillips tomorrow. 🤞🏾
@@Arcadiez it has not been unfortunately. I was wet shaving with the Braun and the Philips. I made the change to using a completely dry foil shaver with talc powder as pre shave and that had much better results for me. I'm using the GoldFX FOIL Foil shaver from babyliss for that
I wish my facial hair grew that slow. day 1 its a bit prickly, day 3 is like a one blade. for me day 3 is a beard like your 'bum fluff' on your chin. I 100% need to shave every day, good review hit the key need to knows.
I used a Norelso rotary for years. Then I bought a Braun 7 series. I wish I hadn't. I replace the blade every 4 or 5 months, but I have to go over my face with a bic razor after shaving with the Braun. I spent way too much for the Braun, so I have to use it until it falls apart, which is unlikely.
UPDATE: I finally bought the Braun Series 9 Pro+

I ended up getting the Braun 7 bc of this video. IT DOES GET SILKY SMOOTH CLOSE LIKE MANUAL RAZOR! Thanks man for all of your research
Glad you liked the Series 7. I'm in now testing the Series 9 Pro+ which i just bought. Video coming soon if you're interested in the differences
Not only useful comparison but also very entertaining in a different way. Thumbs up Lad.
This was fantastic. First razor review I’ve really enjoyed sitting through

That was a sick review. Informative and entertaining
Didn’t expect to be laughing at a video reviewing razors. Entertaining and got the info I needed. Cheers!
Perfect video for someone looking into electric razors for regular use
