For a guy who operated in the shadows for so long, it's such a pleasure to hear Ernie talk at length. Good on you, Julian. As a football fan, I'm hanging on every word.
For me, it’s Ed Reed. That has to be the biggest draft regret in Bill’s time here. 2002 they took Daniel Graham at 21. Real good blocking TE, made a few big plays in the passing game. He was gone after 5 years though. 3 picks later at #24, the Ravens took Reed. And we all know how those next 11 years went
Gotta give props to Ernie.. despite being asked a question that essentially pressured him to say something negative about the patriots organization he answered in a political way where the pats made sure to get the guys they wanted so they didn’t make a bad or regretful decision.. that’s a man who truly has Patriot’s back..
@@DavidBarton777 I was trying to remember the rest of that haha there was something like dont talk to my mom or something I think randy was on the phone with his mom maybe
I do feel like the Pats were one of the few teams that could draft a "needed" position as opposed to just taking what everyone considers the best player available. They did it multiple times, and it wasn't always a big need, but a player that worked out better than many drafted in front of him.
He doesn't want to say "Taking N'Keal Harry and Joejuan Williams with bionic versions of the same player Harry was slotted to be still on the board in AJ Brown and DK Metcalf. Then picking Yodny Cajoste and Hjalte Froholdt instead of Maxx Crosby."
I love Ernie everybody loves Ernie but Ernie's probably the only one that didn't really get the question 😁😁😁 what he's saying Ernie is there a guy you could have drafted but you waited one round too many and you missed out on a Hall of Fame type player 😆
Watch every draft and the one player me and my friends watch falling don’t the draft and I thought for sure we would draft was randy moss…we drafted a linebacker who ended up retiring and randy went the next pick to Minnesota…man that was a tuff one..😂😂😂
Learned absolutely NOTHING from this. The video was teased like there was a name that some other team picked instead of the Pats that they really wanted badly, but instead this guy just rambled on about Matt Light and Logan Mankins for 10 minutes...
Agreed I came here expecting a name or regretful draft decision too.. but Ernie was smart and gave a very political answer. Ernie essentially gave an answer where they got the guys they wanted and didn’t make a mistake or regretful decision in the draft. He did a good job not to say anything negative about the patriots organization even in a question that was pressuring him to say something negative.
@@redstone5149 Lol nah I think he understood it, he just had 0 insight so he bragged about 2 barely above average linemen to make him and his bf BB look like geniuses just because those 2 didn't cost much.
The more he and BB talk the less I think either of them had anything at all to do with the 6. I used to think it was 80% BB and 20% TB12. I no longer think that. They both sound stubborn and clueless.
great draft guys land 3-6th round gems regularly. it sustained the Patriots for years, the guy running this show is a perfect example. Notice what happened when Ernie left?

Hahahaha. The ramblings of a borderline autistic 70 year old. We have to basically read between the lines to hear his answer, essentially “oh yeah we wanted all the really good players that other teams got but it was pointless to think we’d get them until we did so I didn’t think about it” or something like that. It’s like BRUH, just tell us you wanted Cameron Heyward or Mark Ingram or something in 2011 and you just missed out.

Props to Julian finding 3 different wants to ask the same question

The specialty of that patriots regime. Still hiding information that isn't relevant to hide now
Thank you. I’m 2 and a half minutes in and I’m already annoyed.
A reason why we have 6 rings
@@ChicagoPatriot123 We??? You have zero rings. The NE Patriots have 6 rings
@@ChicagoPatriot123no it’s not, Brady is the reason you gave 6 rings. This guy and the coach were failures on every team they assembled without Brady

Ed Reed would've been an excellent fit for the Patriots system
I saw Ed Reed play one game at Miami and he instantly stuck out as a stud. Incredible ball instincts.

No way he was answering that question lol..
Every episode of this podcast should be Ernie Adams breaking down important games from the Patriots dynasty run.

I'm not convinced AJ or DK would've been successful in NE. There was something very wrong with how they developed outside WRs.
Ofcourse he is no Maxx Crosby, but Froholdt actually turned out to be a starting center
Jon Hannah is on the Mt. Rushmore of pats players
Mt Rushmore for offensive lineman…all time
Picking my all time Pats team, Len St Jean would be one of the guards

This guy kills me. It takes him an hour to say 30 secs of information. If he was sitting next to me on a plane, I'd switch planes, mid air.
I can't help but imagine Ernie coming inside during a Boston winter day and his glasses fogging up so you cant see his eyes.
