    I really like the drop in 4 way blade. That and the tilting nature of the design show some really good lateral thinking. I did notice you putting your foot on the frame when you switch from horizontal to vertical. Have you thought about adding a (textured) footplate for this use? You would be less likely to slip or kick the electrical connection. All in all an excellent design that really shows your design skills as well as your craftsmanship. Very well done. :)

    • @xenonram
      @xenonram 4 года назад +1

      @@marekkrepa9982 Usually hydraulic is best, but this motor is so friggin big there isn't a situation where this wouldn't be able to split a piece of wood. It's geared so low that there would just be no way of stopping it. (With a log) I'd bet, provided the rest of the components are strong enough, that it could split a piece of wood across the grain. The 2200W/3hp 3-phase electric motor, is geared down so low, that it makes power the least concern.

      Nothing in this world is absolutely perfect.
      For example, the towing couple - one for passenger cars - in the yard it is not necessary to deal with passenger cars and in the woods or in the field, you take a tractor with another towing system.

    For security purpose the motor should stop moving when the machine is not in use. Also you should have a security mechanism which imply that both of your hands are not exposed to the moving parts of the machine when you want to use it (might be too contrainant). But that's a beautiful machine :-)
