Log Splitter - Workshop made

  • Hi everyone. @MadeinPolandChannel here and this is our second channel :)
    Wood splitter is very useful because we can save a lot of time and a lot of energy.
    Small pieces of wood can be easily split with an ax, but if you have a large wood with knots, dealing with it is very tiring.
    As a splitter drive, we used a 2.2 kw / 3hp geared motor, which reduced the gear speed to 20 rpm.
    I used the M4 toothed rack (40x40mm) and M4 18-tooth gears.
    Check out others videos :)

    The automatic return of the blade with the spring system makes things easier. The system is not complicated and works efficiently. Congratulations, you have created a beautiful machine.

      Sure would be nice if the market still had a quality standard. Even high end equipment has junky aspects to it. You almost have to make something yourself or buy one designed to fail.

    Congratulaitons, much simpler than hydraulic splitters

    • @ontheroadagain4773
      @ontheroadagain4773 Год назад

      Can you please explain how this can be simplier than a hydraulic splitter? This system has way more moving parts and needs a lot more maintenance than the hydraulic system. If you use a heavy hydraulic cylinder you don't even need other moving parts, except for the return mechanism and the control valve lever (that this one needs too). Gear pumps and cylinders usually don't cause any trouble as long as you have good oil in the tank and this is the only thing you need to care about. No gear box, no bearings, no rack. And if it of some reasons doesn't have enough oil, it just stops working before anything else happens.
      And I built my own hydraulic splitter without having advanced tools like a lathe. I couldn't build something like this with my tools.
