Seeing finn react "authentically" to the breakdown was the greatest thing I've seen this week
Made me fucking die of laughter in transit lmao
Yes it was😂
Im having such a bad day but this really fucking helped. Lmao.
@@user-zh7th2ge1c hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Keep it up.
Someone needs to meme that shit. Brilliant
Gotta love the unfiltered and honest breakdown reactions.
it’s crazy how ronnie sounds exactly like mgk right when he drops that kamikaze reference
Had to watch that again, and yup. You right.
I thought the same thing haha
I checked a few different sources bc i was convinced it had an mgk feature lol
It’s not the lyrics. It’s the tone that makes me think he was taking a jab at MGK
@@JonnyRottenn__ yea for sure, his tone sounds exactly like mgk. and that kamikaze reference where ronnie says “kamikaze crashed like a suicide” was where eminem dropped his diss on mgk on the track not alike, and he’s dressed like mgk so it has to be an mgk reference.
On stream Ronnie said this song was mainly about hypocondria. Like your head hurts but google says you have cancer so the voices are always telling you that something is wrong with you but you actually just have a headache or something minor. Like the feeling that everything can kill you or something like that. It was cool to hear him explain it live on his stream.
health anxiety
Ooooi
I have really bad health anxiety i always feel like I'm dying from something lol
It's about mental health too. Not about depression exactly, but something similar. Thats why it looks like "about depression" in a first place. Additionaly, context: "Popular monster", "Losing my mind" story and fact about people, creative especially: most of them have problems about mental health. We all know that stories.
@@Inacryst ronnie himself said its about health anxiety and how it can ruin someones life but people can interpret it as being depression/suicidal thoughts and he understands why they can see it that way
Watching you react to the breakdown a second time for the first time was so genuine and pure
He's not just a musician, he's an artist. I may not be a huge fan of all his music, but the guy is talented. The music videos are always amazing and so well thought out. The re-imagined songs are great in not only the videos, but the composition of the songs are completely changed.
I think it is a dig at MGK, just listen closely to 13:45, everytime he ends the verse ("the worst advice", "suicide"...) he imitates MGK's voice, maybe it's just me but i can't unhear it
At first I thought that was just a reference to how he sung in early FIR songs but every time a reactor points it out on stream he just giggles and doesn't deny it lol.
Plot twist: Ronnie didn't escape from imprisonment. Ronnie was never locked in a cage to begin with. The door was always open. Ronnie locked himself in a cage, as the voices in his head told him to do.
damn bro, that's deep
Just a fun fact for anyone who didn’t know; The name of the band before Falling in Reverse was From Behind These Walls. They had a couple of leaked songs hit RUclips and then changed their name shortly after.
Haha this was a great video! 😂 🖤 I'm sure Ronnie will love this vid actually, Im gonna ask him to watch it on stream! 🙏
doubt Ronnie liked it, honestly. he pauses every three words. there's nothing wrong with that, but Ronnie goes nuts when people do that. plus, he hates what he calls "the nerdy stuff"
The chorus in this song kinda threw me for a loop at first but it’s grown on me. I dig the interesting little things like the Corpse part and that operatic vocal thing. Not my favorite of the recent singles but I like it more now than on first listen.
Exactly my thoughts. Not my fav of the recent singles, but it still remains my favorite band.
Hey Nate thanks for reviewing this! Loved writing this with them!
I got people who don't like Ronnie. But he's grown a lot since the forming of Falling in Reverse and you can tell he's learned a lot both personally and personally. This man is still making banners 10 years later and that's amazing!
Eh, he still has a ways to go tbh. I’m sure he’s trying, but his comments on non-binary people made me lose a lot of respect for him
@@becknorland587 transphobia / constant talk of cancel culture / love of Tom McDonald. He should just man up and rebrand as alt-lite-core instead of trying his weird balancing act
@@bleachboys3623 yeah I agree. I still have a lot of respect for him due to his outstanding musicianship, but he just seems super insecure, like he has something to prove. He seems to always claim that he’s on top of the world, but he responds very poorly to criticism and refuses to take responsibility for his actions for the most part. And his weird conservative viewpoints back that up. I still can’t believe that he’d invalidate non-binary people, as lgbtq+ people are a huge part of this scene. On top of being a massive asshole for saying that, he’s alienating half his fanbase.
@@becknorland587 lol what. He was 100 percent correct. Even if he wasn't grow up. He has maybe you should do the same. And half of his fan base isn't the LBGQ community. Lol thanks for the laugh. That's Ike a very slim percent of the population to begin with. Very slim.. its people like yourself why nobody will ever take the community seriously. Getting outraged over an opinion. At least have a legitimate reason to hate the guy. And Fun fact Tom macdonald isn't a republican he lives in California and is as middle as the road as it comes. I suppose with how far the left has become its very easy to make that mistake
@@hitman9198 dude I ain’t outraged, I’m just disappointed. I looked up to Ronnie for years and I just can’t do it anymore. The half his fanbase thing was an exaggeration, I’ll admit that, but this scene in general has lots of lgbtq+ people in it. If you can’t support that, then I don’t really know what to say. Also, non binary people are valid. No questions asked.
When you actually edited the foot pic into the background for the rest of the video, I died laughing. Editing skills on point my dude!
Thank you for the authentic reactions always makes my day !
"Here's a flashback to 'Hot Rockergirl Ronnie'" - I lost it 😂
Omg, I was thinking the same thing about that pink microphone. 🤣 For a long time I just ignored Ronnie bc all I knew was the bad stuff about him & I didn't bother to dig deeper. Your video about his life is actually a big part of what made me start taking him seriously & realizing what a true genius he is. And yes, I definitely admire his ability to reinvent himself so many times. Most people would have taken the prison sentence as an excuse to self destruct & give up on their dreams, but he did quite the opposite. Seeing as I just pre-ordered his book I guess you could say I'm definitely a fan now. Thanks for being part of why I can say that.
Also, this song is freaking amazing. That operatic "forever" gives me chills. Brilliant. And the canceled license plate- I totally missed that!!
Dude, he's doing MGK's voice during that segment, I just noticed! The operatic bits are throwback to the hair metal, too. It's like a culmination of all his evolutions musically, thematically, lyrically, etc!
The song has literally nothing to do with MGK. Even the part where a whole bunch of people are trying to say he's dressed as MGK, that's literally just his old pre popular monster, singles era style. Its just him slowly working his way through his history and killing off old hims... No he's not doing an MGK voice.
then he says "kamikaze crash like a suicide while hes got dude in the cross hairs.. if that isnt an Eminem killshot reference then I do not know what is lol
finn reaction is my favorite character atm lmaoooo very insightful video finn!
That foot edit getting bigger every time Finn said 'bigger' was just ✨perfect✨
This is the best video you have made 🤣 your meme breakdown reaction is everything 🙌 😅
Good video dude, the commentary was on point! Solid song too.
The editing at the end with the feet was God tier lmao! Props to your editor. P.S. I love this song.
Great video Finn, always great commentary
Love the content man. :) keep this shit up. ❤️
Really like the messages about mental health and recovery. It’s important to break the stigma if we’re ever going to get better as a whole.
shout out to the editor leaving the foot pic in the background for rest of the vid
I love doing a song reaction by taking a step back and looking at how we got here. Providing the context is great.
17:33 was so good I had to come back to this video several days later to watch it again. Love you Finn.
as an ex addict with bad anxiety Ronnie’s music and lyrics are incredibly cathartic to me. I have to fight obnoxious catastrophic thoughts every day just to feel like I’m not some incompetent and unlovable failure. The one good thing about mental illness monkeys on your back, is when self defeating voices turn into self motivating voices. That hypercritical inner dialogue can sometimes be a useful form of dysfunction when you can transform it into something productive. Love Ronnie, he’s Inspiring AF
love that you put up that foot in the background.
This video was super enjoyable to watch. Thanks as always! Loved your "reaction" to the breakdown lol.
Sidenote: It bothers me when people say Ronnie changed too much or shouldn't rap. He's been rapping just as long as he's been doing rock, there used to be videos of him freestyling on RUclips back in like 2009
Wow, what a great recap!
The "authentic" reaction had me dying! 😂 💀 Careful Finn, once you get a taste of that "I am merely confirming everyone's musical taste as the best musical taste ever" money you're not gonna want to go back to well thought out content that takes effort to produce!
This breakdown was unreal by you sir
Imo the first falling in reverse album is there best work but I like how he's evolved his sound
he seems to have some sort of michael jackson vibe with the melodies on these last couple of songs you talked about
Funny you should mention Eighteen Visions. Them and Escape The Fate were my two favorite bands. Also, I had the biggest scene-crush on Ronnie but I think literally everyone did back then - both girls and guys, haha.
Don’t listen to falling in reverse really at all but every time I hear a clip I definitely stop and listen Ronnie is definitely a talented lyricist and vocalist
One of the best imo
Awesome video Finn!
Glad you enjoyed it
11:48 Man John Travolta really did just shoot Avril Lavigne, what a mad lad
the sound of this song reminds me of recent bmth, especially the move part
Drugs, popular monster, and this new song are absolutely fantastic in so many ways, and they are (imo) the three best fallong in reverse songs released to date, there something just special about them
His biggest transformation and sign of genius to me was his reinvention of The Drug In Me Is You
Man I fucking love Ronnie. I always have and I always will. Been following him for a long time now (since I was thirteen & I'm nineteen so you do the math) and you're so right everytime I think he couldn't possible surprise me any more he somehow does and he levels up like crazy everytime. Also yeah this mans got issues for sure but then again don't we all. He's my hero no matter what. Ronnie Radke defense squad forever!. Great video Finn!
Ronnie just does what he feels like and i love that for him
Come hang out on Twitch! www.twitch.tv/finnmckenty
18 visions have some excellent songs, love the obsession album
I still listen to Tonightless on repeat
16:57 i love when you roast tool LMAO
As someone with podophobia I tried really hard to ignore this part of the video. Thanks for making me take notice🤨😰
Besides this... Great video!
Greetings from Germany
Loved your honest breakdown reaction 😉.
I just found them a couple of months ago and I adore the FIR videos... sometimes slightly gasp or audibly say "whoa" at Ronnie's lyrics or vocals but some of the reactions channels going apeshit at breakdowns are kinda starting to get on my nerves. Your bit about going back to breakdown on the breakdown was funny AF!!
I'm enjoying your channel lately. Gotta see if you have more Alice In Chains or System Of A Down videos now.
I like how your reaction is actually a whole history lesson.
I loved the hot rocker girl Ronnie flashback. That was my favorite Ronnie look (Not so much the personality to be fair) but it was sick and I always loved that motley crue look that ETF did.
He looks kind of like Skinny Glenn Danzig in this video.
lmao the authentic breakdown was probably the most animated ive ever seen finn. felt weird seeing more than a straight face and hand movements
One of the few artists I get excited for when i hear he's going to release soemthing new
His last 6 singles over the past few years have been phenemonal
Losing my life is a great song
THE FOOT PICTURE ON THE WALL 😂😂😂
Ronnie's never gonna be my cup of tea, but I respect the Hell out of his work ethic and drive.
Always been my philosophy with him. I TOTALLY get why people wouldn’t like his music throughout the years, but he does deserve credit where it’s due.
@@thecreatedvoid117 Exactly. A lot of people really don't have a life after dope, nevermind a hugely successful and productive one. Gotta hand it to the guy, for sure.
I'm a huge Ronnie fan, but I like when people say this instead of absolutely trashing him. It's okay to not like his music, but the guy deserves respect. He's been doing this for soooo long, and right now, he's bigger than he's ever been.
@@ExTiNkT91 I try to keep an open mind. I spent a lot of time in my early 20s hating on successful things, and I might be trying to make up for it now lol. Either way, I respect the hustle.
God damn the breakdown react had me laughing
The best breakdown reactions in the business are right here on this channel, folks.
The freakin' foot thing had me dying XD
Bald Ronnie and Finn can be twins ong lmao
I really like this a lot
I’m so glad you pointed out the MGK thing I commented about it on his music video a few hours after it went up and no one else acknowledged it so I thought maybe I was going crazy lol I didn’t notice the lyrical shade though but immediately noticed by the appearance that was MGK
I'm just glad you're willing to scream yourself hoarse to give us your honest and organic reaction. Sacrifices, bro. Sacrifices.
I love the prison cell door open imagery, to me signifying we lock ourselves out of so much in our own mind when really the doors are open and we can choose to be who we want to be
Can you do Holding Absence and October Ends next? Two of my favourite bands releasing bangers one after the other. Didn't know it was Christmas yet
That 'forever' pitch he does 100% reminds me of Brendan Urie's era of Panic! at the disco.
In my head: “HOLY FUCK JUST GET TO THE SONG AND STOP TALKING!!”
Me: thank you
He’s going through and disposing of the old versions of himself that he’s left behind to evolve into the person he is today.
It’s about the struggle between personal growth and the things from your past that try to drag you back.
He said on stream it was about hypochondria
i like the breakdown
Seriously can't over how good the music video is. Zombified was insane too! A band from the same management called October Ends just released a new song and it's a banger too. Would love to see you react
Unfiltered Finn under water screaming hahaha perfect
Do you edit your own stream highlights? Because the edits are so good.
I don’t, shoutout to my editor!
Popular Monster is me in 2015 I relate to that song sooo much!
2:58 Ronnie is the William Afton of music, he always comes back
Who else noticed the foot getting larger in the background as Finn was saying “bigger bigger and bigger!” Towards the end? 🤣🤣🤷♂️
I felt the exact same thing when I seen that pink microphone. I didn't know if he was going to suck it or singing to it
I DIE WHEN HE REACTS TO THE BREAKDOWNS! I CAN'T WATCH REACTION VIDEOS ANYMORE BECAUSE OF FINN!! HAHAHAHA!
I feel like I’m the guy that has to use the toilet after ronnie, and he’s just like “sorry bro you might wanna give it a minute”
Ronnie literally JUST said "Good Girls Like Bad Guys" is like MGK's "Emo Girl". A song that he's going to look back and cringe hard af. 🤣🤣🤣 Love Ronnie, he's about it. 🤘🤘
but this song will always be epic bc people coming out the car brought me back to coolio video
I didn’t know or hear of any of ronnies songs til the beginning of covid with pop monster popping up on Spotify when I was looking for new songs. From all his songs up to 2018 are all the same. Then once the trilogy came on he literally flipped a switch. This music (2018 on) is sooo much different from the rest of his songs. It changed so fast. I love Ronnie as a person too
This music video also seems to be inspired by the movie the one. It has a bunch of heavy influence thing from the fight scene and him fighting all of his clones.
Hey Finn, idk if you’re into this idea, but I think examining bands like Be’Lakor, Kalmah, Omnium Gatherium etc. would be sick. They are interesting because I honestly don’t understand why they are different from other metal bands? Or I don’t understand why I feel that way.
Love the "bigger and bigger and bigger" and the foot picture keeps getting slightly bigger. 😆
The Yard hat!!!!
Popular in my monsters! What a banger! FiR did it again guys. Definitely found a formula but the next single needs to be a bit different. Great video though.
It’s like a struggle with two worlds via melding rap and hardcore.
Haha the first Ronnie was when he did I'm not a vampire in 2011/2012
On his reaction stream he said the song was about health anxiety/hypochondriac's.
Ever since the first "foreveeer" it looks like a power metal music video to me
Ronnie is always stepping up his game
What’s really interesting to me is why every band has to have at least one music video in that same f***king colored room
This song came on my RUclips mix yesterday. I thought it was Mgk. I couldn’t change the song fast enough lmao
Hell yes brother
This is cool.
Joan Jett cosplayers
I have so much respect for RR. I can't say I like every song he's ever done, but you can tell whatever it is he COMMITS to the idea 100% and throws himself in head first. You might not like a particular song or video, but you HAVE to respect the sincerity.
Kamikaze was the Eminem album that contained the song KIllshot (okay, it came out as a single first - but it was on that album). If he can get Em on a record I will absolutely lose it. I could hear FIR covering Eminem's "Fall" WITH Em on the track...
"I got no faith in your writers/I don't believe in ghosts"
Question: I see the concept of the video being he is still in prison, and in his mind he's dreaming of escaping to this future where he slays his demons. But is his sitting prison look a reference to Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Everything they release is fucking heat
My four year old is obsessed with popular monster and zombified!
the corpse bit also might be at mgk since corpse did a song with mgk
