While it's not anywhere near my favorite hip hop songs, Lose Yourself could be argued to be the greatest hip hop song of all time. Not because it's the absolute pinnacle of wordsmithing or anything, but because of the way it blends technicality, story telling, and accessibility so perfectly. Very few songs have ever been able to pull that off.

“Lose Yourself” was always corny and cringe to me, and I liked a bunch of Eminem’s songs, especially stuff off the Slim Shady LP.

Had it not been for xtinas dirrty or her album stripped, none of these young pop girls today would have the artistic freedom that they have. They would've all been a repeat offender of what happened to Britney...she help lay that blueprint at the age of 21
That being said I love the song. It's definitely a banger and always gets me energized... but to each thier own.

The comment about running into Puddle of Mudd at an Applebees reminded me of how I ran into the guys from Hinder at a dive bar in Missoula, Montana in 2011 or 2012 after they played a show at the university basketball arena (seating room only). • @nu-metalfan2654

@Tyler Hackner. The reason for that is 2010’s music wasn’t really bad, nor was it any good. The 2010’s when it comes to music is purgatory, because there was nothing good, but there was nothing too bad, it was all just boring.
I say that but some stuff in the early 2010’s was bordering on really bad, I suppose because it was coming off the late 00’s, Justin Beiber, LMFAO, Miley Cyrus, Carley Rae Jepson, Brokencyde (they were fucking atrocious).
The 00’s were a mix bag of amazing stuff and down right fucking awful stuff. Most of the amazing stuff in the 2000’s were from the first 4 years from 2000 to 2004, because it was still riding the wave of the 90’s.
By 2004 the 90’s wave was fully over and music went to shit.
