Welcome to the drum-tec electronic drums Silent Studio Sessions once again! You might have stumbled across episodes 1-3 of the series already (which were released earlier this year), showing Ralf Schumacher & Gundy Keller in a super silent electronic drums based duo studio session at Spytunes Studio, Mainz.
Episode 4/5 again features a beautiful drum-tec pro series kit hooked up to the Roland TD-50 electronic drum sound module, triggering sounds from Toontrack Superior Drummer. Have fun listening to a spontaneous funk drum & bass jam, which was later overdubbed with additional keys by Gundy Keller.
Don´t miss the silent sessions noise level cam at the end of the performance, which shows HOW silent the session actually was in the room!
The drum kit setup in detail:

Time for an album from you and Gundy. Don’t you think Ralf?
:-D Hey Paul, yes absolutely!
I keep thinking that this is how I can FINALLY play drums with my friends without causing problems! I’d love to see how each player got to the point of recording. What’s the basic setup beyond the equipment? Not really what’s being used, but a basic of what would help less tech savvy people get up and running silently . That’s a big ask! But someone should start a channel on these type of questions and issues! With the distances we need these days, the future surely will involve quality practice via the internet! That’s the next level.
Hi Wes, the setup is super straight forward: the direct output of the guitar/bass amp go into an audio/midi interface, same for the midi output of the TD-50 module. The midi data is used to trigger the sounds from Toontrack/Slate in real time, while the bass/guitar sounds are recorded as audios in Logic Pro on a Macbook Pro. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV thanks so much! I love your content and gear! But your playing always blows me away! Thanks for taking the time to respond!
@@MrStoutfool Thank you Wes! You can find more drumming/music over at my personal channel if you like btw:

This is just awesome 😎
Any chance of sharing the SD3 preset?
Pretty sure it's the ezdrummer 2 core library. The Yamaha kit and Sabian cymbals.
Cool. Might be useful to see a db-Meter. Super playing. Thanks.
Thank you! :)
Loving these sessions!
Question! Are you planning on showcasing any vst from GetGood Drums?
If anyone is capable of making them work good on an e-kit, it's you haha! \m/
Thank you very much! Well, I am not sure right now how well their mapping & interface will work with electronic drums. But maybe I will have the chance to check this out in the future. Kind regards!
Thanks you so much for posting this type of content! Like others, I would be interested to know about the SD3 presets you used here.
👍
Awesome playing and sound! Can I ask if you were using the Core Library (what preset?) or an add on SDX Pack? Thanks!
How much for all this? Drum-tec drums, cymbals, plus module?!?!
Hey Joshua, if you are interested in an individual quote for this exact kit, please get in touch through service@drum-tec.de & refer to the video :) kind regards!
How do you mix yours and guitar's sound and hear it both through the headphones?
Is it a 2 ch amp or something else?
Hi, we did the monitoring straight out of the audio interface, through which we recorded the DI signals of guitar/bass and the midi coming from the TD-50 module (on a macbook pro running Logic Pro X). If your computer/laptop has enough cpu power and a fast audio driver, it is no problem to monitor at ultra low latency. Kind regards!
We’re all those pads hooked up to that one module?
Yes the whole kit is hooked up to a Roland TD-50 module, which is triggering Superior Drummer through midi. Kind regards!
Hi can you tell me how do you connect the module to the computer? interface, DAW and parameters to reduce the latency, it seems you have no latency when you play the drums, thanks
Latency is depending on your computer/hardware setup. If you have enouhg cpu power & ram available, and a fast working audio driver with your audio/midi interface, it is no problem to play live with hardly any latency. Kind regards!
Hi do you ship to India? What would the shipping fees, time and estimated duties cost?
Hey Andrew, please get in touch through service@drum-tec.de for further info and/or an individual quote including international shipping if you like. Kind regards!
Nice groove! Great to hear music for a demo - for a change. I get so turned off with someone with a ton of mere chops - very un-musical.
Thanks Matt, you can also check out the other Silent Studio Sessions episodes here on the channel if you like :) kind regards!
Which drum stands are you using for the cymbals ? And for the splash ? Can one use regular drum stands for e cymbals ?
Yes you sure can :)

I’m trying to contact drumtec to buy a drum set and after one response they aren’t even answering the rest of my emails? You don’t want my money?
Hi, sorry to hear that! Have you tried service@drum-tec.de? You can also call up the hotline if you need some assistance right away. You'll find all the info on www-drum-tec.com, please let me know if everything has worked out. Kind regards!
That’s y i prefer a drummer to play rather than drawing notes..lol...sd3 and other drum plugins are invented to be played on edrums in the first place...it’s for musicians ..not some wanna be self claim “musicians” but doesn’t noe how to play any instrument but rely on drawing notes...LOL of the LOL
