Tell me if I would get 2 marks for this. Because I did a question in a test where I had to prove that the vector of MN is b in a triangle. So, they given us a diagram with a triangle. The triangle was labelled ABC, where A was the top of the triangle and BC(left to right) was the base. Vector AB( which is going down) is 3a, and vector BC(left to right) was 2b. M is the mid point of AB and N was the mid point of AC. The base of the triangle (BC) had a parallel symbol. Would it be okay if I just just said vector MN is half of BC (2b), and just do 2b/2 = b? and state that since its collinear it would be equal to b as well as parallel since they have same orientation gut different magnitude? because it was 2 marks and i really doubted that i had to do half of 2a or whatever and do a half of AC and then add and cancel each other out, cos that wouldnt be worth 2 marks. it wud be worth at least 4 or 3 marks minimum.
at the timestamp 3:21, how do we know which side to go coz we can reach x from A in both directions right? like we can go from A to C and then C to X also right? please help
I've thought that too but if you do the working out again from the other direction you still get the same answer. Either direction should be fine so nothing to worry about. Hope this could help!
I was just wondering whether your tutorial videos are okay for students who are currently working towards achieving a GCSE in Maths with AQA. I know that some of your videos are Edexcel related but can they be used on AQA papers also
paper 1 tomorrow and I 100% know that this is going to come up smh, It's the only one I fail to grasp. I've got all the high grade ones to a tea but it's just f*cking vectors. I shall not rest tonight till I have mastered it.
it's not you just need to take time to understand it. The vectors simply represent a quantity in a direction. For the first one if they asked for C to A its like a GPS, we have no road from C straight to A so we take the road -b (minus because we are going opposite direction as the written direction is forwards) then we go -a (minus again as we are going the opposite direction to the one written) the path is -b -a Ask me any more questions, cmon you got this man

I really appreciate how you simplify maths
these type of questions always fuck you over at the last page
do you have to expand the brackets or is it only if it states so in the question? Thank you, this is very helpful xx

Is colinear the same as parallel? In some exam questions they say prove that they are colinear.
Colinear is the same line. So if they are parallel and also pass through a common point they are colinear.
How would u know its minus b or plus b
when he gave the two examples about midpoint why do you have to find AC first? I don't get this!

Would ths be on a calc paper or non calc?
I don't understand. You should explain the vector's meaning.
Ask me anything, the vector is just a representation of quantity in a direction.
Is this foundation or higher ?
Vectors questions can appear on the foundation - the harder proof questions are on the higher only
Give up on maths I got accused for cheating just because I got a vector question right
