One question: In the video you are shooting the power plant that is under the ship and then the ship spins to hide the power plant but still takes damage to the power plant. Is this specific to the Python that it has a big enough power plant to be targeted from both above and below the ship or does subsystem damage always "pierce" like that?
Thanks to you, I liked my first pirate, got gimbal lasers and targeted this stupid pirates frame shift drive. I killed him with 30 minutes to spare (after a 24hr job). The git kept supercruising away and then when found him, he was at full health again
Great video, i prefer living cheaply i follow sector authorities in a sidewinder with multicannon i wonder if i can target subsystems using multicannons?
Following sector authorities I noticed it didn't really matter what I was flying as long as I was fast enough to get the scan and do enough damage at the end to validate a bounty reward. Also subsystem targeting seems to have been nerfed on smaller weapons it only takes it down a certain percentage if the weapon does not go past a certain damage amount , but assisting other ships the best thing seems to be to target the drives to help slow it down for the NPC anaconda authority vessels to take down your scans for you.

when i destroy the power plant it just stops my target dead in it's tracks and makes it a sitting duck

Give it a try on some easy targets and monitor the results?

How do I select the subsystem target if I don't have a joystick but mouse and keyboard? And what recommendations would u give as to key bindings ?

Nice video! BUT! While bounty hunting is a good way of making money, it is ABSOLUTELY NOT one of the fastest ways of making money.
It was ONE of the best ways when the video was made a few years ago.
