    Hint: while you're bounty hunting remember to bring limpets with you and collect everything valuable the ships leave behind after they explode.
    You'll be glad you did once you start engineering grind.

    Great advice! I've been hauling spoiled rich tourists and celebutantes around, and earned enough to buy a fully-stocked Alliance Chief. I learned quickly that standard combat is a sinkhole, so I was looking for a quick primer on bounty hunting. This is right up my ally. Thanks for the video!

    I have been a bounty hunter since I started playing the game. Killing pirates with my stock Sidewinder, then with an Adder, then with a Viper mk3. Then I upgraded to a Vulture and currently I'm using an Alliance Chieftain. Only recently have I started farming bounties at resource extraction sites and business is boomin' like never before. I feel like I was born to do this

    Another good tip is if you see your target being shot at immediately pull out your lasers (hitscan) and tag them once so they turn red. Once they’re red, scan them with the KWS as now even if you don’t get the bonus you still have something out of that fight!

    I didn't start bounty hunting till I got a alliance chieftain. It has sufficiently good hard points but you must have enough credit to purchase it and outfit it. Once you have it outfitted you have to do a lot of resource gathering to beef it up. On my chieftain I can almost continuously fire without having to pause. My Krait Mark II is even more suitably outfitted for combat but I do enjoy my alliance chieftain because it has more mobility. The alliance chieftain turns so smooth and rapid it can get a little scary until you get used to it. But remember you should always upgrade your power distributor your engines. Remember by upgrading your distributor and engines you will run cooler allowing for longer fire time on your target. And by upgrading your lasers and guns or lazer cannons you allow yourself greater firepower. I've actually been told by three man wings to join them or leave the area because I'm taking too many kills from them.

    I'm maybe a couple of weeks back to the game, and one fun thing you can do to make this extra profitable is to take on Wing missions and hang out at Res sites, if you've got time to burn.
    I took on a mission that had me ordered to kill around 40 pirates, and in about a couple of hours at a RES site solo I'd chewed through the required kills and basically made 10 mil, with the only expenses being to reload on ammo for multicannons.

    • @Rob_IE
      @Rob_IE  3 года назад +3

      The vulture is an excellent ship! Maneuverable, packs a good punch, can definitely take a hit, it's just that the biggest downside is the smaller power plant. I'd recommend engineering your power plant and rolling into a RES site with two large thermals. But for Resource Extraction Sites where you will most likely have backup in the form of System security, you'll be fine as long as you don't foolhardily engage anything too powerful alone.

    • @codenamehavvok9752
      @codenamehavvok9752 3 года назад

      The fer de lance is a very good ship. It has decent firepower but that's not the reason why people prefer it. It has great mobility that's its advantage over those ships that have greater fire power turning to use its mobility is its greatest asset but you will have to pound and pound on your adversaries destroy them. You may not find the ship to your liking at the beginning but practice practice so that you may learn to turn and fire turn and fire and to keep to the rear of the ship that you're trying to destroy keeping behind the ship is the best place at least amount of hits on you Shields will prevent your destruction.

    • @Rob_IE
      @Rob_IE  3 года назад +2

      When it comes to Vipers, always go with the Mk 3, never the Mk 4. The 4 trades a lot of speed and maneuverability for a bit more armor. It's not the worst ship, but it definitely isn't an improvement on the 3 and many agree on that fact. The Viper Mk 3 is an all around great ship, though if you really have the money, you can LOAD up a Cobra 3 with some great bounty hunting stuff and tons of hull reinforcements.
      This is what the wiki says about the Viper mk 3 verses the Cobra mk 3: "compared to the multi-role Cobra MkIII, it has the same weapons capacity, slightly stronger shields per shield class, slightly weaker hull, marginally slower turn rate, much faster strafe speed, faster speed under normal thrust and slower speed under boost".
      Basically I'd just go for the Cobra if you can afford it, but if not the Viper Mk 3 is probably the most stable option for first time RES fliers. Remember to never solo engage, take time to recharge your shields and always scan with the Kill Warrant Scanner!

    So how exactly do you use the kill warrant scanner?

    • @Rob_IE
      @Rob_IE  3 года назад +2

      Good question! The Kill Warrant scanner is a Utility item that you set on your fire groups, similar to your other weapons. Just set the Kill Warrant scanner on a fire group, and when on that fire group hold down the button you assigned. When targeting another ship, hold the button down until the scan bar is filled up, and the scan is completed. Afterwards you can freely engage and destroy your target knowing you'll get the full bounty.

    • @JW-fm2cy

    • @Rob_IE
      @Rob_IE  3 года назад +2

      @@JW-fm2cy It does not scan automatically. Each ship is assigned a value But you can get more money per kill by using a scanner. Equipping a Kill Warrant Scanner to your utilities and putting it in a fire group allows you to "fire" it. Holding the button down will slowly fill up the scan meter at the bottom until finally it will say "Scan Complete". You will then get extra money for other bounties that may be placed on the ship that you would not have known about without the scanner.

It shouldn't be too difficult to do this in an eagle, and since bounty hunting now gives more money, you should be able to upgrade to a Cobra, Vulture or even an FDL over a much shorter time.

    Bounty hunting is easy... NPC killing is easy... but it does not pay well.. mining does not even pay well.. they were supposed to fix it.. make bounty hunting pay much better and even out Mining.. but Mining just takes a lot of time and effort for very little pay today. Bounty hunting is fun.. I love it.. but it takes time.. and its hit and miss on whether its worth it... you can make 20 maybe 30 mil in an hour if you are lucky.. you have to run into a LOT of wanted guys worth a lot of money.... If you have a very good ship and you are good at it.. you go the the Haz Res and hit up ever NPC wanted Anaconda you can find.. Anacondas are usually harder to kill but they seem to be higher pay. Or hit up a bunch of ELITE NPC.. they take longer..the fights can seem to just last forever... they can do a lot of damage.. they use missiles.. etc.. so by the time your finished you have to go to a station and get repairs a lot. no matter what.. you are NOT making a lot of Creds. IF you want to make Creds in this game.. I do Robigo runs with my Anaconda and make easy 100 mil an hour.. every hour.. no hit and miss.
