@@patricialavery8270 i grew up in England ..but since arriving in Oz my entire family loves it...inc my husband from the Middle East .....if you prefer savoury over sweet....vegemite is awesome....just dont use it incorrectly.
I'm Australian. I winced when I saw Gul Sher taste some Vegemite without any butter (!!) but was relieved to see that you provided some buttered toast a little later 😅 He still used a bit too much, though. The golden rule is: toast the bread till it's golden brown, add lots of butter, and a SMALL amount of Vegemite. It should be treated as a condiment and used sparingly - NOT slathered on like peanut butter 😊 And NEVER eat Vegemite on its own 😂😂
We have (what I assume) a similar product in South Africa called Marmite. I literally spread a nice, thick layer on buttered toast. I'd even eat it off the teaspoon
@theborg5981 marmite is pretty different. I know they look and sound simular but i rather eat marmite then vegimite but tbh i think i just pick to starve.
Lmao ooooooh no!!! I thought Uncle Gul Sher got lucky and didn't have to try this. Poor guy, you guys caught him and was like, "hang on you forgot to try this." Lmao he almost got away. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣✌️
Gull Sher has such expressive hand gestures when he's describing things haha.. I hope Gull Sher and the TPT team are all well! Thank you for another super interesting video! :)
Tried this once and vowed to never let it pass my lips again. 😅 I have a hard time understanding why anyone would continue to eat something that you have to warn people about before they taste it. One comment said that the very thin layer that Gul Sher put on his toast, was way too much! My thought on that, is why even bother? 😂
That was my comment. I also said Vegemite should be treated like a condiment, not a spread. If you had sushi, would you slather it with horseradish? No, you'd apply a tiny amount. The same principle applies to Vegemite.
@@FionaEm I wasn't criticizing your comment at all. I was just sharing my thoughts about the product. There are foods that I really enjoy that I'm sure some people wouldn't like in the least. When I said "why bother", it was just my way of saying that it's not that important for me to like (or learn to like) Vegemite. Have a lovely day!
Brewers yeast, the main ingredient in vegamite can be made halal, but that usually turns it white... Something to consider after the fact 😊 also, it's best used as a recipe ingredient. Vegamite sandwiches are disturbing.
Someone should tell them the fun of it is that people either love it or hate it but never is there someone who only kind of likes it. It is magical in this way.
@@annainspain5176 My mouth dropped open, too, for a second - but lighten up a little, eh? It didn't kill him and he does have a sense of humor. I absolutely love the stuff!😋 But then I was born in Australia and already had it as a child. For years I couldn't get it because my family moved to Europe, but then first in England and then later on it became available in several shops in my present town: Amsterdam and I can enjoy it once again as much as I like. I even like to take a spoonful of it once in a while, directly into my mouth.
Vegemite has a hidden bonus, it repells biting insects if eaten on a daily basis, it is high in Vit B and will pit a rose in every cheek. Vegemite is an acquired taste, one us Aussie kids had no say in gaining. The equivalent of half a teaspoon eaten daily will stop mosquitos biting. It is a health food basically, a poor mans health food.
Vegemite is the cheap knock off of Marmite. They like to copy everything from other countries but fail miserably. Marmite tastes so much better and is delicious.

'Is it only consumed by sick individuals?' 😂 The answer to that is yes!
The polite way to refer to us is Australians, not sick individuals 😂
@robbiemontgomery581 I just came to write exactly this but you beat me to it haha
NO! Don't Do it Gul Sher! Run away quickly.. It will make your Mustache Fall off!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@LittleBlueOwl318 Among other things.
I think only people who grew up with it can eat it. Americans also find it inedible.

Americans eat peanut butter & jelly, so ... 🤢😅
How is that relevant?
The fact Gul Sher didn't know about it means that the other 3 made sure not to spoil the "fun" for him.

Marmite tastes milder to me than Vegemite.Less pungent and salty.

It's like Vitameatavegemin, which got tastier as it was consumed

lol, they didn’t let him escape the fate of the others.
Vegemite.
It is wood filler...NOT food.

Welcome back!
Tribal people play twister pls
🤣🤣What a marvelous sense of humor!
He put too much on the bread, and more butter was needed. Just a pinch of vegemite if you have never tried it.
Props for finishing your plate.

British Marmite is AWFUL; Australian Vegemite is tolerable. BUT Sanitarium Marmite from New Zealand is the best.

Isn't vegimite the cheap crappy version of memrite or somthing... ?
