I'm American and once had a Pakistani neighbor. We would cook together. I taught her to make things like banana bread and cinnamon rolls. She taught me to make puri, halwa, pakora, samosas, and more. I think I got the better end of the deal. :)

Trust me, as a Pakistani, cinnamon rolls are one of the tastiest western foods I've ever tasted, you taught her a real good one. Been wanting to taste y'all's biscuit and gravy one day, all my American friends tell me that's the best dish in America but unfortunately it ain't available anywhere in Pakistan, no restaurant serves it

@@mr.knewyork5843 I don't know how difficult it would be to make biscuits where you live but you have all the ingredients for a cream gravy so that part's doable. If you poured the gravy over naan it would be a similar experience to our biscuits and gravy even if it's not exactly the same. Hope you get to try it soon because it is a yummy dish even though it's a simple one.

People don’t realize just how good Indian and Pakistani food is.
My partner is one of those basic American food and nothing else types. She doesn’t like new flavors usually. We just had a great local Indian and Pakistani restaurant open.
I took her to try it. We then went there five times in seven days. She will literally now go there anytime we can afford it. And she’s tried everything on the menu and wants to learn how to cook it.
Halwa, all the different breads, curry, biryani, etc. are all just amazing food that doesn’t taste anything like western spices and it’s all incredibly flavorful, and sticks to your ribs like a good home cooked meal.
I could literally eat biryani every single day and never get tired of it.

You mean "White" people (sometimes) don't know how good their food is, that doesn't mean most other groups of AMERICANS don't know that-because they Do! You guys are noT the "default" human beings or the only representation of what it means to be a true American, so don't talk about people in absolutes like that.

Yes it appears to be a heavy breakfast but remember a lot of these guys are working hard slog in manual labour type jobs. The puris are flash fried in seconds so are quite light and fluffy.
