There's something interesting based off that first section that perhaps speaks to human nature throughout history, that its the kids who stop and appreciate the new technology. This is brand new tech to both kids and adults and yet, similar to today, the adults seemingly dismiss the new tech as silly or a toy and say Im gonna go about my day as usual, but its the youth who look at that camera and say wow this is something worth posing for, playing with, engaging with and admiring. As if they understood the longevity and importance of that tech more than any adult did. Which in a way is counter intuitive cause youd think an adult who lived for so many more years would appreciate and eagerly adopt the newest technology even more and yet that's not how it seems to go.
The lovely thing about this is, that people act very naturally an authentic while being filmed because they had no intimated feelings about being seen and judged by other people on video as they had no experience with being filmed. Nowadays everyone instantly changes his behaviour when seeing a camera
Old B/W footage has a detached look. Little connection. Everyone is dead - but it means little. As the technology improves the humanity, the connection is restored and personality comes out - the eyes can be seen. They become alive and you can mourn their death. I find it that profound.
@Autohunter06 Yeah, because rampant TB and cholera, dying of easily treatable illness before you turn 10, likely dying giving birth, working 12 hours a day 7 days a week, orphans selling themselves to survive, and having all your teeth fall out by 40 was so much better.

This video makes me kinda sad, what culture, flair and uniqueness each country had, It only took 2 generations for these beautiful unique cultures to be eradicated by the homogeneous scourge of multiculturalism.
at a certain point it just snowballs, in the 1800-1900 you could easily imagine all the things that could be but nowadays with AI and technology going so fast, no one can say whats happening in 10 years, AI alone made incredible heaps the last couple years. only wars and devastation could stop humanities progress now and once we reach the stars, we will conquer our galaxy and if we encounter alien we will enslave them, we are a savage race, we are either be stopped or continue until everything is ours
Notice how each country is one people who belong in that country. Their culture is completely preserved and unique to them. Absolutely beautiful to see

Yup, largely because we are all so interconnected, back than the world was much more defined by national borders, dialects, and the history of individual people groups, they were much less mixed and there was much less writing and fiction, nobody got lost in delusions or fantasy back than, and nobody was confused as to what most other peoples beliefs everyone existed on the same “page” in relatively the same place, and practicality was the way of life, entertainment was very secondary

Exactly what I was thinking, very scary to think about, even the youngest babies aren’t around to see today, the March of time stops for no man but it’s a almost scary perspective having that right in front of you
thank you...this was joyous to watch. The folk seem to be more chipper...happy and energetic.
I don’t know why I love to watch your videos. I cannot explain how I feel while I am watching but it is so peaceful, excitement, wondering, happy and so on in the same time. Sometimes I really feel like I was there for a while. Moreover, thank you very much for all of your clips ❤😮😊.
It makes me feel so sad, everyone Ive just seen is dead. But on the bright side, kids are kids whatever the century lol...and my how technology has changed even in the last few years to colorise these clips. Im convinced a holo deck, like that in Star Trek, is just round the corner. Brilliant work, I feel privilidged to have seen these. Thank you..
The days before mass manufacturing, all the clothes were so well tailored amd fitted! All the ornaments, lamp posts, signs, buildings were finished with incredible detail!!!! The difference between craftsmanship and modern manufacturing 😮😮😮
One day, people in the future will watch us.
Not possible the old time were great bcs of they did not seen cameras bcs they were made and were presuos no phones no social media so
We are that future.
May Allah forgive us ❤❤
people 200 years from now watchin nikacado avacado vids.
Not in the future - in the NOW
5:00 I love this fella. Two finger salute "piss off". Clearly can't be arsed with this amazing new camera technology 😂
I think he says dont film me also.
@@antonw4671 Bad boy. Became a Tory politician in later life.
@@mikerodent3164 True, the Tories came from genuine working class stock, it could have been worse and become Labour and sold their soul to the highest bidder and stole their heating allowance to send to corrupt friends abroad.

Amazing colossal task of searching, gathering and colouring over 14 minutes of videos. I am amazed by looking at all these people and how they dressed and played.. they have all gone now..they worked so hard for their children and grandchildren, but how many of them are remembered now or remembered the hard life they have been through.. even though they looked happy and contented with what they had.. now people communicate remotely and have virtual friends, families eat dinner in different rooms and their eyes glued to their mobiles etc. Etc.
Thank you for this wonderful video, it made me compare how people lived then with the people who live now ..❤❤
You look at these faces and think, life is in full swing, emotions, things to do, but these people are long gone...
Excellent upscaling & colorizing here - it is endlessly fascinating to be able to peer into an increasingly distant time in history.
How beautiful this should be shown in schools all over
They won’t show this in schools in the UK that’s for sure, as lteachers are making a huge effort the last few years to brainwash all their pupils into believing that Britain has always been ethnically mixed. Mustn’t show them the truth
Those who are depressed and happy: After watching this video, I felt that the people featured must have experienced depression, shared happy moments, felt sadness, faced financial issues, lost family members, and celebrated successes, among other things. After watching this video, I think: "We are here for a short time, so always be happy and cherish happy moments." Thank you for creating this video! :)
I know times were very very tough back in the early 20th century but goodness, those kids look so happy, and they probably have nothing….
Wrong.......they had everything they needed.
God, Family, Duty, Sense of Belonging, Community, Purpose.
Everything we now lack, and materially we have everything they could only dream of.
I think part of it is that this is pre WW1. In a way the whole world now has collective PTSD from the world wars.
You guys dont realise it, but 1st reply is true af
Like how many people with social media addictions would rather live in the old times?
They got more than what we have. No vaccines barely back then, no poisons, no radiation, they had good health, holistic doctors, today so many are sick and stressed out. Their water, air and food were not poisoned like ours. Rather joy and health than materialism and sickness.
@@Wakeupnow14 The footage of london bridge tho looks like the city is covered in a smog. Even without lots of car traffic all the homes were heated and factories ran on coal.
Imagine all these people looking into the lens and running in front of the camera have no idea that +100 years later hundreds of thousands possibly even millions are looking at them through small screens in our palms. It’s literally like time travel, the footage is so authentic and raw.
This is amazing! I would love to see the same quality video footage of something from the 1904 World's Fair.
Amazing ! like a window through time.
I am very impressed by the curiosity and reactions of humans at that time when they probably saw a camera for the first time. Nowadays it’s less so, but we still remain curious. Congratulations, great job!
The *HARD WORK* they had put into life, amazing 👏
13:12 That’s “Wuppertal” in Germany… suspension railway build in 1901. It still exists today.
The boys in the beginning of the video are all dressed so nicely with like three-piece suit and a hat. They all look so nice.
Unlike the kids of this generation and past generation, all dressed like they are a bunch of homeless kids.
The sad things is all things dies and these are treasure videos that is what kept memories alive. Rip my brothers and sisters and thank you for the inventions, innovation and memory videos, so the next generations can go back and look at way of life. Sad, but thank goodness cameras and ect were invented back in that time to preserve memories and traditional! Times are forgotten, but memories will lives on forever in videos and in our hearts! Love and peace!
That's why I choose to believe in an afterlife
@@Fergus-H-MacLeodtrue, all this life can’t be for nothing
I wish time would go back to this era. Life was simple. No phones, no computers, no internet. Just work, making friends, and having fun. This is the life that we have lost now.😢
Except for health system 🤔
yeah. there used to be so many innocent ppl back then...
Yeah just work work and work at the factories😂
The United Kingdom, 1900 at 4:25 is just great. Playing, laughing. Love it!
And no immigrants.
@ Well, except the 1.5 million Irish immigrants that came to England in the late 1800s. And the 150,000 or so Germans around the same time. Not forgetting the Russians, of which over 100,000 or so came to England around 1890. Oh wait, you probably just mean immigrants that don’t look like British people. Got it. 👍🏼
@@classiccasualgamingand use hijab 😂😂😂😂😂
@@paulashton9705 Yet I understand the point he is making. You can see why so many British people are so fed up with the state of their towns and cities yet you cannot blame the people coming in for striving for a better life.
@@paulashton9705 Yes, because Germans, Irish and British are still far more culturally compatible than Africans and Muslims. If UK only imported other Europeans, it would be much safer 👍
13:15 It is the suspension railway in Wuppertal (Germany). It is still in operation today
Fabulous! Thanks.
This one got me my guy. This one got me.
Felt like I had the camera and they were all reacting to me.
Very well said!
The lovely thing about this is, that people act very naturally an authentic while being filmed because they had no intimated feelings about being seen and judged by other people on video as they had no experience with being filmed. Nowadays everyone instantly changes his behaviour when seeing a camera
Sad but very true!
Germany 1903 13:13 is very impressive. way ahead of its time !
Thank you for another interesting video 👏👍
0:44 all hijabis turned out it's Muslims who are protecting the culture 😂
My mind is blown! Amazing. Thank you so much for this
Old B/W footage has a detached look. Little connection. Everyone is dead - but it means little. As the technology improves the humanity, the connection is restored and personality comes out - the eyes can be seen. They become alive and you can mourn their death. I find it that profound.
Kids now 2024 are twerking with their ipads
yeah bro insanely sad. we need to go back to the old times, no kid should survive to see their 20s and die from toxic gasses or starvation
Better than forced child labour
😂😂😂
@Autohunter06
Yeah, because rampant TB and cholera, dying of easily treatable illness before you turn 10, likely dying giving birth, working 12 hours a day 7 days a week, orphans selling themselves to survive, and having all your teeth fall out by 40 was so much better.
Yeah, coal mining kids are better.
Brings those old black and white photographs to reality.
Footage from Germany was futuristic! just wow!
😅its still the same picture over there
All the shots are amazing, especially the shots from Germany and India with the elephants, mind blowing.
I love how everyone dressed nicely back then, even the kids.
2:00 looks like a digital camera on a tripod! Close to the left door.

Fabulous video...thank you......
I watch this kind of videos during breakfast from about one year.. this is indisputably the best one around in the tube.
I just watched known and well known places live - from 122 years ago! Fascinating! Shared with every adult I know. Please complete this brilliant work with all the accompanying information you came across! I believe the view count will explode.
This video makes me kinda sad, what culture, flair and uniqueness each country had, It only took 2 generations for these beautiful unique cultures to be eradicated by the homogeneous scourge of multiculturalism.
and it was your own fault, since you couldnt do anything for yourself, you needed other people build up your countries.

things had not changed much from 1300 to 1800 , but from 1800 to 2024 the world has changed a hell lot
human growth is truly exponential.
Too many changes too fast. Crazy right!?
THats because they stole knowledge from ancient egypt during colonization of 1800
at a certain point it just snowballs, in the 1800-1900 you could easily imagine all the things that could be but nowadays with AI and technology going so fast, no one can say whats happening in 10 years, AI alone made incredible heaps the last couple years. only wars and devastation could stop humanities progress now and once we reach the stars, we will conquer our galaxy and if we encounter alien we will enslave them, we are a savage race, we are either be stopped or continue until everything is ours
That is simply not true 1600-1800 was the period of the great resenesance
It's changed for the worse.
Beautiful. The innocence, real humanity & companionship… totally lost in time.
Absolutely amazing!
Germany 1903 @13:13 looks amazing and wayy ahead of its time. 🙌
Notice how each country is one people who belong in that country. Their culture is completely preserved and unique to them. Absolutely beautiful to see
People looked so decent. And because they were decent they were happier and more calm. And so there was less need for security forces.

It’s shocking to see the unity between all of Europe in similarity and how interactive they are and just having fun just like we would in right now, but it’s really cool to see the difference of people act today then back then.
These are so important. It would be wonderful if the end of the clips could fade into a then-and-now of the locations, like ghosts fading away.
It's insane how this crazy world changed in 100 years
Yup, largely because we are all so interconnected, back than the world was much more defined by national borders, dialects, and the history of individual people groups, they were much less mixed and there was much less writing and fiction, nobody got lost in delusions or fantasy back than, and nobody was confused as to what most other peoples beliefs everyone existed on the same “page” in relatively the same place, and practicality was the way of life, entertainment was very secondary
One of these videos is made in Holland btw
Those poor dear children from Hollinwood, England, working in factories all day; the brief joy and fun they had when they saw the film maker 🥹
