@@zeitok8 There is a lot factors because we aren't all "equal" on our path of life and we have differents level of sensibility and knowledge, many people don't "fear" doing something dangerous even if it could kill them and usually it do or not but the idea of surviving take multiples levels too, it could be good and sometime you need to take risk or just "avoid" them all your life but it is a smart balance each has to do. I understand the "impressive" because there is a lot of people we can see and each of them had someone who knew them. It's like you know someone or all the person you know died in a plane crash or something and you received the call, the last thing left is how we deal with it. Emotions are importants to "feel" with life but knowing them and how to control them is just a bonus for doing greater or not .

The world was much simpler than in every aspect, people were not concerned with great wealth, fortune, or fame as such concepts were pretty novel and obscure before the roaring 20’s the American dream never really materialized and the same ethos applies to Europe, and their colonies, people didn’t expect to become anything greater than someone well known and respected by the people they had face to face contact with, or their nation/town, it was also a world that didn’t care so much about your material wealth, it cared more about your status, are you a soldier, a doctor, a government official? Respect and social standing was much more valuable than as it was universally recognized as valid, money was not as important and it wasn’t as necessary either, you could buy less with money, as there was no internet, no air travel, the products available to people were quite limited in range and most of it was all practical things, money didn’t buy much luxury or entertainment back than except for the Uber rich

@@HistoryOnPaper Imperial Germany (WWI Germany) invested a lot into their military due to their heavy belief of “Militarism”, which is basically the thinking of making a powerful military for national pride, prestige, and to secure one’s nation’s place, that being Germany, as THE leading power of Europe. The idea was even support by their Emperor at the time, Kaiser Wilhelm II.
There was also an arms race between nations in Europe due to heavy tensions and grudges at the time so Germany invested a lot into their military to have an edge over other nations (that’s why they fought so well in WWI in the beginning against multiple nations until they were overwhelmed by the United States and supply shortages at the end of the war).
As to how this led them:
      - The result of these huge investments into their military led to paranoia by other nations (such as Britain being paranoid due to Germany’s navy presence) and Germany going through some economic problems during and post-war WWI. (Economic problems becoming HUGE in the Weimar Republic and unfortunately helped create a vacuum for Hitler and the Nazi Party to convince the public and take control of Germany later in 1933).

There's something interesting based off that first section that perhaps speaks to human nature throughout history, that its the kids who stop and appreciate the new technology. This is brand new tech to both kids and adults and yet, similar to today, the adults seemingly dismiss the new tech as silly or a toy and say Im gonna go about my day as usual, but its the youth who look at that camera and say wow this is something worth posing for, playing with, engaging with and admiring. As if they understood the longevity and importance of that tech more than any adult did. Which in a way is counter intuitive cause youd think an adult who lived for so many more years would appreciate and eagerly adopt the newest technology even more and yet that's not how it seems to go.
