It makes me shudder to think that all those people who appear there no longer exist, but thanks to this beautiful work we can see them in their reality. Fantastic 🙂
A great time. The bike was relatively new, the photography and film and also cars etc. but what makes me even sadder is that many of them later experienced terrible years of war, complete with hunger and suffering.
Jesus look at the kids they don't even look like the age they should be almost looks like mini adults the stress in that time made them look insanely older
Thanks for producing this video. Fascinating to watch. It all looks like a dream. "We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.! (The well-chosen, haunting music in the background adds to the dreaminess of the various scenes.)
La Germania era tecnicamente all'avanguardia.
I am very impressed by the curiosity and reactions of humans at that time when they probably saw a camera for the first time. Nowadays it’s less so, but we still remain curious. Congratulations, great job!
It blows my mind that here we are, over 120 years after this was recorded, looking at how different the world was at the start of the 20th century! These people had no idea the world would see them on the Internet!
It makes me feel so sad, everyone Ive just seen is dead. But on the bright side, kids are kids whatever the century lol...and my how technology has changed even in the last few years to colorise these clips. Im convinced a holo deck, like that in Star Trek, is just round the corner. Brilliant work, I feel privilidged to have seen these. Thank you..
Of course it still exists. The Schwebebahn in Wuppertal transports about 80.000 people per day. But of course the whole train has been updated over the years.
Life has changed so much since the early part of the 20th century. The difference between the social classes - especially in their clothing - is pronounced. Nowadays, one can hardly differentiate between one class and another. The descendants of the poor people in England - as shown in this video - go on overseas holidays to the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and other far-away places.
Days before Technology. People did not walk so serious smiles on faces. Tapping touching connecting meaning. Community lifting chins up. Design was a delicacy. More steps then wheels. I’d love to just stand there for 10 min would probably feel like a beautiful hour of normalcy.
awesome ... I must be thinking at charlie chaplin, because all is looking like in the old films of him. very interesting the fashion at this time. long skirts and hats everywhere.
This might sound strange but how people dress is a major part of culture. Freedom is not worth fighting for without good culture. The US needs to get back to the place when everyone dressed well or the best they could and in a similar fashion. It will help improve things - no doubt.
I don't like the dress personalty, it looks dystopic and boring, everyone is the same, but I'm sure there is a middle ground. The real problem with America is that people don't even have the will to take care of themselves anymore, we are 40% obese and 73% overweight or obese, being a normal weight is rare in America and that is an indicator of some major deep seated issues.
2:00 19th century folks were so chill and relaxed. Always smiling and laughing, no depression or anxiety. Thats the way to live life! With all the advancements in medicine and comforts we have today, we aren’t happy as a society overall.
Lmao what? Take off those rose colores glasses mate this is a time when children had no childhood and went straight to work. When 1 out of 5 children didn't make it to adulthood. When workers had no rights and were exploited. When medical procedures were deadly and anaesthesia wasn't invented yet. I can take a walk outside and film smiling people, doesn't mean depression is eradicated.
Still a much more beautiful time than the times we live in....from architecture to fashion. Today every building looks like a glass box and the fashion is sometimes simply outrageous.
Look at how happy, honest, and social everyone was back then.
Thank you for the video.
We live better than ever. You can't know they were happy and sociable. You probably don't know these people.
They were much thinner and healthier too!
@@AndySaenz924 Yeah, that must be why they died at a relatively young age back then. 🤦🏼♂️
Look at all the women and girls wearing hijab and showing modesty.
These clips are priceless

13:12 this footage from germany is insane. I didnt even know they had trains like that back then. So futuristic for it's time.
They were way technologically advanced than other nations, if they didn't involved in two wars then they might be landed on Mars by now.
I didn’t even know trains like this existed until I saw this video
If you like to look it up: It's called 'Wuppertaler Schwebebahn'. It exists until today.
It still exists. It’s in Wuppertal.
@@itoldyou7887London had an underground railway from 1863 so what’s the big deal 🤷🏻
thank you...this was joyous to watch. The folk seem to be more chipper...happy and energetic.
Jesus look at the kids they don't even look like the age they should be almost looks like mini adults the stress in that time made them look insanely older
I was thinking the same. They look old. They certainly don't have that youthful look that children have.
I'm it's the quality and colors mostly
I was wondering if the lack of nutrition at the time with poverty was causing that.😢
They grew up themselves
@@MCAbdoYes that's true. Also if you would picture them wearing modern children's fashion they would look younger.
Fabulous! Thanks.
The Schwebebahn from Wuppertal makes it look like a drone footage. It‘s really fascinating!
great choice of music for the background, bravo!
Fabulous video...thank you......

Amazing ! like a window through time.
Epic! Thank you for your work!
It's both sad and amazing to just sit and realize that these were all real people.
Who lived real lives.
Great work 👍
3:56 these 2 guys hamming it up for the camera 🎥
It's an eerie feeling to know all those people are no longer with us
This was a great project. Thank you.

Thank you for another interesting video 👏👍
The *HARD WORK* they had put into life, amazing 👏

How beautiful this should be shown in schools all over
I hope we all learn from this
so many of these young men died in the first world war. Poignant.

5:00 I love this fella. Two finger salute "piss off". Clearly can't be arsed with this amazing new camera technology 😂
Funny electric street cars replaced by diesel busses, and now back to electric buses. Makes one think.
Amazing. Congratulations
well done
It really does makes me feel enormously how incredibly likely everyone in this video is dead. It was 100 yrs ago. 🤔
Thanks. I liked the German monorail. They also had a ground monorail controlled by gyroscopes.
This one got me my guy. This one got me.
Felt like I had the camera and they were all reacting to me.
thanks for my daily dose of weltschmerz
The childrens ,looks ' older'..thank yoy for the work🙏🏼
It seems like the camera hogs have existed just as long as the camera itself. 😄

Those poor dear children from Hollinwood, England, working in factories all day; the brief joy and fun they had when they saw the film maker 🥹
Thats incredible
Viagem no tempo, incrível ❤
People without smartphone 😀

Beautifully colorized memories from back in the day ❤ humanity has come a long way since those days, but the results have not always been so good...
Yeah.... I wouldn't say we have come a a long way...I call it "devolution"...
Brings those old black and white photographs to reality.

We carry the past with us and also the connected sadness of moments lost from people who no longer exist.....our time will come soon enough.
These kids are long dead
