Baba O'Riley's intro has gotta be the most legendary intro to a song ever
To me, the coolest thing about is that without that exact Lowrey organ under the exact conditions where it was recorded, it's impossible for it to be perfectly replicated. It truly is a unique sound.
Yes , i have it as my ringtone , love it ❤❤❤
RIP Moon !!
RIP ENTWISTLE !!
Long Live THE WHO !!!!!!!!
I want them back
So do i
Ringo's son Zak is a perfect fit for The Who, he has a individual power and style without trying to be a Moon clone and we all know Moon is impossible to clone
Keith bought him first set. I have photos of him and keith together. Couldn’t write it..
boring af
Seeing them finally tomorrow night . I've waited since age 15. I'm 64...bucket list check !!
Are you going to the Nashville show too? I'll be there. Also seeing them in Atlanta in September. I hope you enjoy the show.
Was lucky enough to see them 3 times, the first was when Keith Moon was alive. None of the shows I saw ever disappointed.
I seen them last night! It was a pipe dream come true!
I've seen them 9 times....Superb
Sweet 👍🌼
This song came out in 1971.
This concert was in 2015 .
44 years later and Roger is still singing it in the same key.
Fucking amazing !!!
Yeah but Pete ate shit
I'd love to go see the who live
ah well the original was slightly pitched up
@@badabing4814 no
I remember the Who announced the Use It Or Lose It Tour, which was a reference to Roger's voice.
I mean it happens. They didn't die before they got old.
Ringo Starr's son on Drums...amazing!
He was drummer of OASIS. He is great drummer.
You mean Zak Starkey's Dad was in the Beatles.
Zak is the real hero.
Keith Monn's godson too.
Ringo is the worst drummer in the world total shite
@@jacob.loesch yup
God, Daltrey's voice hasn't lost a single bit of power. Bit scruffier around the edges but maybe that makes it even better.
Baba O'Riley is the best piece of music ever written.
The Cartologist Preach, brutha!! Literally the best song ever made!
No lies detected.
The music is out of the world.
Baba O'Riley is an anthem of hope in youth that never materialized. A wonderful song and a passionate moment by this iconic rock band! Long live The Who!!
Well said!!
Andre Oliveira 1
Especially when I would listen to this song at the time of the Vietnam war.....
That's because so many interpreted the song as about doing drugs as opposed to the wasteland they could cause.
@@fashionistalagerfeld1954 Hi Cheryl....yeah always in my mind the Vietnam War....when I hear Babba O Reilly....( I was just 10 in 1973 but I come from a Family of Vets.....but isn't cool how the WHO here in this video is portraying teenage wasteland as the internet?
Did you catch up that?
Real music never dies
MLG- *Very True, very True*
spot on
IS TRUE MLG
Never!
music is music. Jazz is music. This is music. Two cavemen fucking could be music to someone else's ears.
When your grandpa is cooler than nowaday teenagers...
When he was your age he was twice your age!!
That is so true.
Ages between them... in being cool
Bence Maráczi boooooooo
Bence Maráczi I’m 10, not a teen, but y’know
I am 18 years old, and you can't even compare this music to days toplist songs. I have my father and older brothers to thank for introducing me to real music
Same here I'm 17 and only listen to old music or new music made by these older people
I am stunned mate! Good for you. I am 56 and The Who my fav band. Blown away that you are only 18. Amazing. Good to know someone so young understands rock and roll music. Brilliant. Teenage Wasteland!!!!
My Generation ' hope I die before I get old' is mental attitude. Do you want to be old at 30 or young at 70? Wish I saw Keith Moon.
Damn, they are old but they still rock better than a lot of young bands. Long live rock !
ya
Way much better
I need it everyday
To put it in perspective: The drummer Zak Srarkey who just happens to be Ringo's son is 50 here....
Hope I die before I get old.
It amazes me how good Daltry still sounds. And the guitar by Townshend is as masterful as ever.
New lyric "I hope I die before I get *real* old."

Daltrey is a cancer warrior
@baby jesus I'm sure he isn't. U on the other hand are I think.
James McGrath we’ve All fallen short . What’s your claim to fame ????
My 11 year old son's, first concert!
Pumping his fist to Won't Get Fooled Again, makes an old man proud!
Well Well !!!, here we are in 2020 , never thought I'd be saying that and The Who are still with us and ain't that grand.
Hell, I heard this song just because I'm a huge CSI (Personal favorite is NY) Fan, which made me into the who fan.
James McGrath Pete Townsend was researching for a book got off with it Lucky twat his police interview is on you tube coppers must been big Who fans
daltreys voice still as strong as ever, amazing
lol that was a Good one
Kilkenny Lad only just
Beatlesfan no.1 nope he is as strong as ever
Not as strong as ever.. but really fucking good regardless, and better than 99% of people his age, and probably better than most people anyway, The Who!!
Yeah Roger daltrey voice is still amazing love the who
These guys are old great grandpa's and still rock
MCORP the governor's!
Actually Roger's voice is gone. Same as Ian Gillan. Retire gracefully.
Rock Stars don't retire.
And when i say Rock Stars, I mean the real ones. @Jean Ferret
@@DavidHalll t r u e
Daltrey will go down in history as rock's frontman with most prime longevity. He's on a league of his own still.
There’s a handful of guys that are all on a par, namely Jagger and Springsteen, but they don’t make rock stars like these guys anymore. My heart will break beyond recognition when the last one passes onto the great gig in the sky 🤷🏻♂️
@@AdamSmith-my1un have faith and have gratitude for their lives
his voice is like a wine
the older the better
how on earth could people won't get goosebumps on this performance ??
Roger is 78 now and still performs this song flawlessly. Nothing can stop him.
The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who and Queen
That's a damned fine list Mr. Faris.
Cream, CSNY, Allman Brothers, Santana, Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Doors, The Eagles, Jefferson Airplane/Starship, CCR, Janis Joplin, ELP, Rush, Yes, Genesis...
Fuck YEAH !!!!!!

Status Quo!
Long Live Status Quo! - The Best Rock Band Ever Years!
50 Fabulous Years! I Love You Quo!
Roger Daltry man.. still with unbelievable vocals
Like veterans, or should I say LEGENDS-McCartney, Jagger, Stewart, Elton and Springsteen- Daltrey and the boys can well and truly still ROCK the crowds. Fantastic!
I've often said that if I ever had to explain "Classic Rock" to someone, and could only use *one song* to do so ... THIS is the song I would play for them!
Damn Straight. This kicked butt in 1978 and it still does..
I’d play Rock And Roll or Black Dog
Perhaps, just perhaps, the BEST song ever written and performed?
The voice is a little strained but Roger Daltrey is still one of the best frontmen ever. And that light show is the best I have ever seen!
This is the best version of this song. The vocal mature is amazing. The modern sound quality makes it really shine.
Shepperton studios was the best. Still had Entwhistle and Moon
its shit
I can't believe how well Roger's voice has held up. He doesn't sound the same, but he still sounds pretty good!!
Almost the same just lost a little range
@@noahreaves8235 yep! His held up better than Plant's for sure
@@robertmantell1700 oh yeah definitely
@@robertmantell1700 And better than Paul McCartney as well.
He doesn't look the same neither but still great for his age too:-)
How does that band still play and sing at the same level as they did in the early 70's? Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
It’s amazing, Pete Townshend drinks in the pub I work at and we’ve become quite close friends since! His voice today is still phenomenal!
Their songs are over 40 years old and are still relevant. The Who can still fill the stadiums as they did from the 70's to today. Can the bands of today do that?
I could listen to Daltry belt out the first verse of this tune over and over, and never get bored. It's awesome.
Sr. Daltrey, Sr. Townsend, Sr. Entwistle, Sr. Moon.
All we have to say is: THANK YOU, thanks for your music.
Roger's voice only gets better with age. Sounds so raw.
Goosebumps!
Long life The Who!
First heard this on a stereo cassette recorder in 1972 - 50 years ago when I was 17 - these guys sound amazing. And indeed we grandpas were way cooler than today’s teenagers 🤩
Ahhh, Ashok. The adults are too hard on the kids for havin their cell phone at the end of their nose alla time. I wish I had several tons of money so I could dote on my neice's boys.
Yeah, Roger and Pete's voices are a little scratchy and they can't hit those high notes like they used to, but give them a break. They are both pushing eighty years old. Well done, mates. Well done. Salute from a life-long fan.
I agree 100%
Sounded pretty damn perfect to me
Roger's voice is absolutely incredible
To Whom It May Concern, When I'm on my death bed and on life support. Play this song in full and then when it's over set me free. Why? Cause with the song I can look back on the time I was here and realize, "I did it all and I loved every second"
Those power cords by Pete will never get old.
Pete and Rodg are going to leave this earth on stage while playing their beautiful hearts out.
One of the greatest Bands ever
"Who's Next" one of the greatest Rock 'n Roll albums ever released!!!
God Bless these MoFos. Pete, you changed the world. Beatles, Hendrix, Zappa, Townsend - you're that important. And Roger - man oh man. His very soul is right there on the stage. Greatest rock vocalist ever, and absolutely inimitable. Utterly.
And no excuses for the present - merely bewilderment.
I still cry like a little boy hearing to this song...it´s incredible how the years didn´t affect the quality of this band. Seing all those guys getting old and still doing what they love...Amazing!
🙌
Daltrey & Townsend - incredible Rock Monsters who gave us dozens of phantastic songs. This is really great music. Todays music and todays musicians couldn't compare.
That guy jumping with the guitar at the end is the coolest thing ever
1:20 the way he sings "I fight for my meals" is so clean, for a man his age to still be able to sing in such a way is amazing
i love his voice now and then.
both sounds amazing to me, they're great
Something tells me that Keith and John were smiling down on Pete and Roger....watching this concert. There will be a time when Pete and Roger won't be able to do concerts, but thank the rock gods that their music will live on!
What a fuckin sound!! So lucky to see original line up twice !!!!
Alan Jones the who bologna
The Holy Trinity of Rock & Roll: The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and The Who. Good music never gets old. Thanks for so much
@HAB'S 25'th CUP well it wouldn't be a trinity then would it
I cannot fucking believe how good Roger Daltrey sounds in this.... Even with some effects and reverb on his voice he sounds incredible. Wow.
They sound like the old days. Zak does an unbelievable job on the drums.
One of the best tunes ever
i will thank you forever, dear friends. Thank You for THE MUSIC!!!
One of the most ICONIC British bands with one of the most down to earth front men.
still the one of the best bands in the bands in the known universe...
Interestingly put - what might be out there ?
For the love of good, they still sound amazing. People should really appreciate the fact that they are still alive and rocking out on that level. Probably the only band that deserves to be in the conversation for best and most influential band of all time along with the beatles, the rolling stones and pink floyd
Zak Starkey it's not only "the Ringo's son"... He´s a brilliant drummer in his own right!!!
I am so lucky to have seen The Who a half a dozen times. The first time was in'76, and Moon was on drums then 1st row in 79. Both at MSG.
Each of the other shows over the years were so powerful.
the synth make this song sounds like it just came out yesterday
It was not a synth, but the sound of an organ. It was a stroke of genius by Pete ;)
@@fabriziocannas6489 that's hilarious!
That harmonica is awesome
his voice sounds better than ever
IT'S ON - LY - TEE - NAGE - WASTELAND
WOW ..... THEY CAN STILL BANG IT OUT ! When you play a song live a million times live sometimes you fucking nail it.
Zak Starkey is such a brillant drummer! He fits the Who really well! He's A great addition to the band.
Sadly no-one will ever be as good as Keith 😕
He is awesome but Keith is Irreplaceable, The Who's live shows were much more awesome with a drummer like Keith
He has impeccable lineage
Like father, like son
When you've actually bought yourself a drumset for your 40th birthday, spent a year trying to learn to play them properly and failed miserably .. then and only then do you fully appreciate the true skill and talent of a good drummer. Totally in awe of all of them.
Meher Baba and Terry Riley!!!!! Many thanks KIDS!!!! 🏴🇬🇧💪🏼🏴🇬🇧
THE WHO FOREVER!
When I die and if I see a light at the end of a tunnel, this is the song I want to hear when I walk towards it.
happy to see he still puts ducttape on his mic lol
Simply...Awesome, I have no Words....
By far one of the most iconic bands ever to come out of the UK, thank fuck I was born when these were in their prime. the original line up will never be replaced but they still sound awesome......................fooking love them to bits.
It was, still is,and will ever be a masterpiece
68 and I still get chills :)
Still kicking the living shit out of it. I guess they didn't get the "Siddown and shut up, grandpa" memo.
One of the greatest Bands in the history of Music! Simply Astonishing, they are ever better today rounding the end of life, and they love and live for what they do!
The windmill! One of the most iconic guitar moves of all time!
I cracked up with pure joy that he still does that!
Now this old school folks .the who never gets old .
I was there that night. Brilliant & unforgettable
Talking about cool grandpa, these guys killin' it
"The WHO is legend bubba!" ~ The Iron Sheik
First concert I ever went to was the WHO at the Chicago Stadium in 1976. Keith and John were still alive, Pete was at his most audacious and Rogers voice was superb. What a fantastic night!!
Roger always sounds so good
Roger’s voice aged like fine wine
Pino is an absolutely awesome player to back Roger and Pete!
Pete still doing the windmill strumming, love it
Possibly the greatest song ever made
Did not know Daltrey was such an amazing harmonica player....class act! Speechless
Goosebumps at 1:55
at 3:11 and 4:02 too :) amazing perfomance if you think about their age
the entire song!
Magical what one big loud F chord can do
Everytime!! Especially at the 2010 Superbowl Halftime!!!! Man I cried lol!!!

They are the coolest Grandpas on earth!
Im seeing them in april 2020 and for a 15 year old whos inspired by the 60s 70s and 90s rock bands seeing one of the bands that are not only alive and touring but one of my biggest music influences is genuinely an honour
One of the best groups and still brilliant what a bunch of daft entertainers they had something special great to watch and listen the WHO
