6:10 You can tell that Brian has a very friendly, kind and educate nature by this kind of things. He's performing a pretty intense solo, the cable of the Roger Daltrey's microphone just fells on Brian's strings, which is VERY VERY annoing for a guitarst. His istinctive reaction? A kind and shy smile!
But the funny thing is, I've met Roger many times and he is shorter than my grandmother was. I'm 6 feet tall and he comes up to my shoulder. Also, in person he is very humble, polite, and the complete opposite of "Leather Lungs Daltrey" that you see on the stage.

Anthony Mclean I think Freddie's vocal range, Brian's guitar skills, even his vocals, and Rogers, and the playing abilities of everyone (don't leave out John Deacon) were better in Queen. The range of genres and sounds, was also more with Queen than The Who.

TheFissionchips I never really got what people saw in Queen. Love The Who and Sabbath. Brian May is a great man. They had some good songs. I’ll take the Stones over the Beatles. I really didn't like Bohemian Rhapsody on this concert. Just because Axl is popular and great he shoudn't had sing Bohemian Rhapsody. I would understand something like Tie Your Mother Down, but not this..
So much story behind this song in this performance. Roger was asked last minute to perform it. He learned the words on the way. And if you are a guitar player like myself you can feel Brian trying to feel Roger out. But Roger nails it. And you have this great performance
I was there. I immediately thought how Roger Daltrey's delivery worked so well with this song. Shame The Who didn't do a studio cover . I reckon it'd be awesome.
If I'm honest, as a big Who fan over many, many years, I prefer the Who's live versions over their studio work. They're more free-ranging and expressive. I've seen them live 4 times and maybe alongside Pink Floyd, are the best live band in the world.
What a tribute to Freddie Mercury for all these artists to come together and make one of the best concerts ever. If Freddie was watching from above I know he would be Rocking.

Yeah absolutely fantastic and more sick than a strain of Spanish flu mixed with Ebola.
I picked up Queen Live from Wembley and was blown away by how awesome of a drummer Roger is. Freddie, Brian, John, and Roger
Cutie Pie.
What a performance. So nice to see John Deacon at there...a true "silent" legend...
Deaky😅
It was his last live performance I guess...He kept working with Queen on finishing he last record, Made in Heaven, and then he quitted.
You barely get to see him, close up video of all the others, but not him. And who is that playing guitar and singing in the back? I guess it must be Chris Thompson on acoustic guitar according to wikipedia. 6:27
Gustavo Gomes in my book the britts invented the real rock and roll
@@Ulghart no he played live two times after this. One time in 1993 with Roger billed as Queen. And his last time in 1997 with Brian, Roger and Elton John in Paris.
Daltrey looks so young here!
Identical to how he looked in the 70's!
***** Yes he does look young
***** Daltrey was 48 yere, and in amazing shape. He looked that good in 1994 when he played Carnegie Hall, then he started to put on a little weight.
***** Righ here is 48 years old and looks like a 30 years old man
You'd never guess how old I am. Suffice it to say, I saw Tommy at the Met! I've been vegetarian or vegan for most of my adult life and take care of myself. Daltrey hasn't spoken publicly about his dietary regiment, but I think he's taken good care of himself.
I know
As much as I liked Elton and the others, Daltrey was the only singer at the concert who was able to mimic the power behind Freddie's vocals. He sent out a wave of energy and stole the audience, That is how you do a Queen performance!
Marc Liljeqvist Completely agree, this song needs to be sung by somebody who is overflowing with testosterone, and if it's testosterone you want, Daltrey is your man.
Passion. Freddie wanted to live, that's what this song was about and Roger knew it. This song only said that which was important. Great tribute to a great gay man who loved people.
Marc Liljeqvist Radio GaGa by Paul Young was so disappointing. David and Annie Lennox also did a great job on Under Pressure.
+Marc Liljeqvist I agree
+KingCorny93 I love Paul Young but was also dissapointed with his performance. This one rocks.
Tony Iommi showed huge respect that night to his 👑 friends. He participated in several songs and he sure did injoy 🎸 in it.
Awesome performance by Daultrey, Iommi, May, Taylor, Deacon...
Um...which legend do I look at?
All legends in one pack!
each and everyone of them, darling! ;3
All of them of course
Andrew Sugrue you better go back to the Kabouter Plop channel
Taylor
The power and nostalgia this tribute gave off was earth shaking. God bless Freddie Mercury and Queen.
The volume of hair between Brain and Roger is astounding.
seth szajek don’t forget Tony!
Roger's isnt't a curly comb over like Brian's.
Just commenting for the sake of ........ :)
🤣🤣🤣
This is one of my all time favourite videos, can’t get much better than Tony Iommi, Roger Daltrey from my favourite band, and Queen, singing one of my favourite Queen songs. Rog did incredible. Get chills every time I watch this. 🎤🔥
I can't fucking believe that this was 26 years ago now seems like yesterday
Thinking the same. Damn I'm feeling old. What happened to the guitar in the 21st century music?
Kidd Marlowe it’s been replaced by an auto tuned queef with a tattoo on its face.
@@josephreynolds1220 That's great man!
i heard rumours about this but my jaw cant get of the floor n ow that im seeing this .we know that Robert plant did crazy little thing even though this is huge could u imagine the Joy Music gasem if Robert joined them there im getting sick thinking of the possiblities
Not A Bot
I'll be 62 in November
Where has the time gone
BR seemed like yesterday
Damn for the first 30 years of the Who Roger didn't age
Hes a healthy man
Hey trotsky how is ruling Russia going?
He really was beautiful
Leon Trotsky how many chicks do you guys think he banged?
Brian may has joined the chat
Three legends playing together. My dreams is completed.
You mean 4
Roger Taylor is the drummer from queen
Roger Daltrey, almost perfectly. I don’t think any other famous singer could have gave this song as much Justice as he did.
What a lineup!! Just blew me away. I know Freddie was looking down with a smile.
Looking down and smiling? He was singing along with them! Couldn't you hear him? I could
Mark Yerkes God bless your soul for that comment, dude
he was.. I was there
@@timwaywell I wish I born 20 years earlier and could be there🤘
He wasn't and never will. He's dead, get over it!
Impossible to watch this video without getting emotional. Three bands that wrote part of the soundtrack of my life. Absolutely sensational
Roger Daltrey...one of the true Giants of Rock Vocals.
Who else could stand up in front of Freddie's home crowd and carry it off?? Answers on the back of a 2nd class stamp.....
he crushed this
I continue listening, equally enthusiastically, to this rock masterpiece in 2024. What about you?
Daltrey was the closest to how the performance would be if Freddie was here. He just knew what to do! Daltrey is a legend, a living legend still, and you can see that he sang this with his best to make the crowd feel that Freddie is still here. He will never be dead! Freddie lives forever!
Check out RP doing "Crazy Little Thing"
@@WhiteCamry Performance was bad imo
@@WhiteCamry he did innuendo aswell
I agree completely. A great showman for sure.
Checkout George Michael doing somebody to love
Tony Iommi's humility struck me, same stature as Brian May and yet he plays back-up guitarist. Real superstars don't flaunt themselves
Стукатня, треск, да голос посрественный, есть с кем сравнить.
'Same stature as Brian May'?
Iommi invented a whole genre and is known as the riff lord.
He is above Brian May by some miles.
I never noticed before! Thank u for sharing!
TBF that wasn't an intense solo. He was just strumming a chord, but ok.
No, that was a look of " This was FUN "
Easily one of the best vocal performances of the concert. You'd swear Roger Daltrey was the original vocalist.
ngl Roger Taylor's voice is just so perfect for this song
I-
You mean Daltrey's ?
Who?
@@danynani1532
What do you mean, "Who?"😅 The frickin' drummer! He's literally the composer of Radio Gaga.
@@lowendpotato3021 no the drummer lmao
Roger smashes this.. damn this good. Awesome combination of talent.
Roger walks on stage like a dude getting off his motorcycle and heading into a bar to beat up the first guy who looks at him wrong.
But the funny thing is, I've met Roger many times and he is shorter than my grandmother was. I'm 6 feet tall and he comes up to my shoulder. Also, in person he is very humble, polite, and the complete opposite of "Leather Lungs Daltrey" that you see on the stage.
@@bostonwhofan Lol, look here at a comparision:
ruclips.net/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/видео.html
The Who was just as dynamic in concert- These are the greatest musicians in the world- all coming out to honor the one Greatest of them all. TY.. There will never be a tribute like this again..
@@tatianaroveda Agree. Totally!
@@stefane.3169 i fell for it again
Brilliant vocals really nailed it , can only imagine it live
How good are you?
Brian May: Tony Iommi plays rythm for me...
4:34 that respectful look Toni gives Brian, almost like saying "How did I do? Did that harmony sound good enough?"
None of them have a single thing to prove - their bodies of work talk for them. Legends doing Legendary things. And none of the BORING OVERRATED CRAP KNOWN AS DEEP PURPLE. REAL legends.
Tony Iommi has nothing to prove to anyone, he and Black Sabbath practically invented heavy metal way back in 1968. Plus, Brian May is the one who actually looks up to Tony, not the other way around.
@@godslayer1415 What's with the shade on Deep Purple? They're legit one of the greatest bands of all time and instrumental to the creation of heavy metal.
@@godslayer1415 I agree with everything except your statement about deep purple
Wow Roger Daltrey was actually a great fit for this. I mean, he was obviously going to be good no matter what, but the song just lends itself to his style.
youdamnfool Were they? Generally Queen were better.
@@pearlsforheroes1639 And whys that then , can't they be equally good ??
Queen better than The Who? roflmao!!!
Anthony Mclean I think Freddie's vocal range, Brian's guitar skills, even his vocals, and Rogers, and the playing abilities of everyone (don't leave out John Deacon) were better in Queen. The range of genres and sounds, was also more with Queen than The Who.
@@pearlsforheroes1639 Erm just think about John Entwistle always voted number 1 bass player in most polls , Moon on drums and Townsends ability as a songwriter of pieces such as Tommy and Quadraphenia , but it's not a competition I'm not a fan of Queen I'll be honest but i rank em high as an act like i do The Who as i am a fan of theirs ...
Brian and Tony go way back, great friends, so awesome to see them play to such a huge appreciative crowd, add Daltrey, icing on the cake, wish I was there.
Amazing!! Daltrey is a monster!!!
British musicians are the best. This is the example.
I'm sorry. But if Daltrey's entrance isn't the best on-stage entrance I've ever seen then I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about.
people crap on about George Michael at this gig but Daltrey was my favourite bit
+BarryDennen12 роор
BarryDennen12
Sorry my friend, but Daltrey got toasted this time out by George Michael.......an' I'm not even a fan of GM.
The Who, Black Sabbath, and Queen: the greatest combo since Reese's combined peanut butter with chocolate. That was such a great performance by all as they displayed their love for the late, great Freddie Mercury.
This is absolute Goddamned indisputable proof that Daltrey was as good a front man as ANYONE.
He fronted the Greatest rock band of all time. In my mind each member of The Who were the very best at their craft.
@@johnoberle9750 Very true. Normies will say otherwise
I much prefer Daltry to that poof who died of buggery.
TheFissionchips I never really got what people saw in Queen. Love The Who and Sabbath. Brian May is a great man. They had some good songs. I’ll take the Stones over the Beatles. Zeppelin great but overrated. Bruce Springsteen I never got. Rush in the early days good. Deep Purple underrated. Sorry for my rant. The tops in popularity aren’t all that.
The Mighty Who have been considered the greatest live band from 1967 to 1976. And Daltrey the greatest frontman, who acted like a man on stage. Not Plant, not Jagger, not Elton John, not Bowie, not Freddie.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, THAT WAS EPIC! Freddie would be proud...
If there's a guy who's allowed to cover Freddie Mercury, it's Roger Daltrey
Have you seen Elton John and Axl Rose performing the Bohemian Rhapsody? Excelent as well!
Axl's voice is suitable for a specific kind of songs. Most of Queen's songs are certainly not on the list of those.
Axl? Not for Queen definitely
I agree. Plant's voice dosen't fit this kind of music.
I really didn't like Bohemian Rhapsody on this concert. Just because Axl is popular and great he shoudn't had sing Bohemian Rhapsody. I would understand something like Tie Your Mother Down, but not this..
Gotta take a moment to appreciate Iommi and May playing the intro of "Heaven and Hell". I would've loved Dio to be a part of such an epic concert.
Roger expresses full respect toward Queen here and does an outstanding job.
Of course he respect queen
He's one of them
@@TMthe33rd Yes the drummer is a Roger [Taylor], but Mr1pontios was referring to Daltrey
So much story behind this song in this performance. Roger was asked last minute to perform it. He learned the words on the way. And if you are a guitar player like myself you can feel Brian trying to feel Roger out. But Roger nails it. And you have this great performance
Makes you wonder why he never recorded it for his last album.
Thats not true.. There is video fotage of the rehersals several days before the concert, performing this song.
@@kmuriaasRD got 2!! days too rehersal this song because som other had declined too do it!
Queen Black Sabbath Who
what a moment!
It's not a very good song
He never includes it on his solo set list.
Holy SHIT!! the breakdown at about 4:02, May and Iommi,, PRICELESS......
It's something else....
That’s what you get when you combine two Guitar gods!
Daltrey did this song justice!
Right he was born to sing I want it all his voice is better than Mercury's yes I know you will disagree
