- "You may have the fastest Hemi but it sure is the ugliest!" That's what Bucky Hess told Anthony Rhodes about his original B029 1968 Barracuda after the South Carolina based team won the 2020 NHRA US Nationals "Hemi Challenge." One of the original 50 factory race cars released by Chrysler in 1968, this now gorgeous Hess painted car still flies in the low 8 second zone under the strict rules of NHRA Super Stock competition.

I love this guy, real piece of Americana !
The Hemi Challenge cars are so cool & love the history that goes with them...the owner/driver's always have a great story about the car as well!😎
Beautiful car! I used to race a Super Stock Duster 340 back in the 70s. Always been a Mopar guy. Good luck!
Use to go to the races in the 80s with a man who had a 66 barracuda called the Carolina Cuda from Charleston SC. Ran in the Hot Rod class. Those were good times.
Baddest factory hot rods of all time 👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Nice kick ass Mopar Barracuda from Blaney South Carolina home of the Blaney Drag strip where it used to be anyway.
Beautiful car
Beautiful piece of history!
BEAUTIFUL AND ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Star of a Car !
Great car. Nice guy. Bucky and Travis Hess are true artists.
Love the SSHA . I know Jim Pancake .
Awesome car, very impressive.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching.
Love the car
Awesome 👍 MOPAR guys
Please come to Maple Grove, I'd love to see that car in person! Beautiful!
He will likely be there in October for the Dutch Classic.
@@driverinterviews Hope to see him there! Thanks
They don't make these any longer...they're still original length.😅😅😅
Nice car...
Go "Boss Man" - knock'em out!
So I Not knowing the rules book well, Can I make a clone or "re-create" BO car, and place it in the SS/AH class at NHRA events?
Yes you can. You can do that for any stock or super stock car. I can take my ‘90 mustang and turn it into a ‘93 cobra with proper trim package and then run the cobra engine, and stick shift only.
hope all go to Dutch classic this year so i can see them. Question How is it NHRA Allows the 200R4 4speed auto in GM Cars not originally equipped but here 4 speed but not 5 speed is allowed, or in Stock 4 speed auto is not allowed? for other Brands?
Chevy gets most of the rules in their favor cause they are majority.

Cool looking car, wish I could understand anything he was saying, his accent was difficult to understand lol
Haha you get used to it come to more races.
Come down to Louisiana lol
Retro, lemme tell ya something. To understand someone speaking with an accent, you have to listen with one!😅
Come on son, you gotta get fluent in southern-ezz!!!
Are you at the pep boys national
Yes I was racing two cars so all my lanes and live content was posted to Facebook.
Awesome I’ll check
Over there
8.40 hemified😊
Bullshit that car is not an original BO car! The only thing BO about that car is the VIN Tag!
None of them are original any longer. Years of racing and updating for speed and safety. Jealous that your Chevies can't keep up? 😂
