Whelen Vortex R4 - Janie Stark Elementary - Farmers Branch, TX

Here is one of 8 finback Whelen Vortex R4 sirens located in Farmers Branch, TX. This particular siren is located at Janie Stark Elementary on Josey Ln. near Farmers Branch Ln. This siren test was recorded on February 3, 2021.
These sirens originally had Whelen digital 864 controllers, but were upgraded in 2016 to Federal Signal Ultravoice controllers. All of these sirens have been programmed with custom tone sets of various frequencies. The tone set used on this particular siren sounds very similar to the old dual tone analog 864 controllers used by Whelen in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
