  • Here is a video I recorded back in March 2013. This siren is located near Huffines Blvd. and Midway Rd. in Lewisville, TX. The large trucks which can be heard throughout the video are for the nearby landfill.

      The newer Whelens in my area runs on 450 Hz.

      +Pro Viper yeah they do. The only other place with Whelens in alert are Corinth, TX, University Park, TX and maybe Saginaw TX all others do Wail

      which is a good thing because the whelen wail tone is very loud louder than the alert tone and it seems to get the attention better

      On the topic of university park I swear to god that I once heard a 465hz whelen going off from my old school in lake highlands .... the nearest one must have been in university park, either way it was super quiet. Like I was probably at least nine miles out

      +Pro Viper Farmers Branch does it do but since it doesn’t have the Whelen Controls now, it still does alert.
