I was sitting in a bedroom back in the day during a tornado warning, doing nothing but minding my own business. Then I heard what I thought sounded like cars passing over a highway, but since there isn't a highway nearby within about a mile/half mile from my home, I realized it was the sound of the first siren. But at that time I didn't know what was going on, so I was like "meh, it's just a storm" when an EF4 was hitting the city about 20 miles away.
