  • On March 2, 2023, the DFW area was placed under an enhanced risk (3) and later a moderate risk (4). Later that day, the violent and destructive storm rolled through the metroplex, causing sirens to go off in Weatherford, with damage in Little Elm. At about 6:00 PM, the storm approached Carrollton. This was triggering my WR120 weather radio as the storm moved through the cities.
At about 6:02 PM, the storm was on high approach to Carrollton. And unfortunately, at this time, people were playing outside. That was when I walked to the TV and then heard something outside. I paused for a moment before realizing...
    The sirens.
I rushed out there to capture them as I'd been wanting to hear them since November 2022. After they stopped, I went to the front door where the winds started picking up, then went to a window where a shelf cloud was visible. After I went back to the balcony, everyone seemed to seek shelter as the winds started blowing things around. A few minutes later, the storm rolls in, and the winds picks up again and the rain comes, shortly after the sirens are activated again. They'd only run for 3 minutes, but after the first activation there is a very faint Whelen Vortex R4 ambience from Farmers Branch/Lewisville. Most likely Lewisville because I heard what sounded like 465hz/560hz. Then not long after I set my own siren off, then came lightning and thunder and even some power flashes.
My power almost went out because in the video when I sounded my siren in Attack, the light across from me flickered pretty badly, not to mention the intense power flashes around the area, but something that did happen was some small flooding. My model trains almost got wet but my jacket and backpack did, as water came through the window and door. But all is good here now. I hope you all are safe after this storm.

This video also includes power flashes, a shelf cloud, high winds, and a lot more. You just have to watch to find out cause it was awesome being in this storm and finally hearing the sirens for an emergency!
Edit: I also set my *own* siren off in Alert & Attack about 4 times, you can see a couple other videos of me setting it off for emergency activations.

Yep, I'm 100% okay. We got hit hard but no damage in Carrollton as far as I know.

Cool video. I know this is random, but I would be very cautious about modifying or removing the stator on the hand crank siren. I took the stator off and removed the bars in the middle of the ports, and it caused it to blow up and slice my hand. Stay safe!
