Not only will it be more enjoyable for you but it will be more enjoyable for the viewers too because it will come through in your videos that you are enjoying yourself. Honest content is almost always better content IMO. Not only that but I think it's great that you took an idea and just ran away with it making it your own. Stoked to watch you play.

This challenge is perfect for me! I own most of the packs but I had years when I didn't play at all, so I missed out on gameplay of a lot of packs. I was trying to do a challenge of my own where I wanted to do all aspirations, careers and skills, but this is soo much better! Thank you so much for putting all this work into creating this challenge, I'll start a new save file as soon as I can and will definitely watch all of your playthrough

This is so much fun! I was late starting sims 4 too (was having too much fun with Sims 2) so this challenge is perfect! I have the same problem with computers and don't use cc - unfortunately I don't have a fix. Also, love the idea of adding a basegame component to this challenge - perhaps tac it on the end for the last generation... sort of coming full circle. Thank you so much for sharing this 💕
Great start to your legacy. Since I started with base game only (Outdoor Retreat will be my second gen) I looked ahead to see which career wasn't used in any of the future gens and I chose the Secret Agent career that I've never really played with very much. My goals with this base game gen is to complete the My Sim Trophies and the Frog collections as well as maxing out the charisma, logic and fitness skills. My Sim is clumsy, cheerful and loyal and also has the alluring trait due to her Soulmate aspiration. I chose the Soulmate aspiration because as a Secret Agent she needs to be able to completely trust her partner to not divulge any secrets. Thanks again for sharing and I'm looking forward to seeing how Elliot progresses in his story.

I abandoned my 5th attempt at Not So Berry to start this, I'm excited :) I've just finished building my Sim, Hayley, a beautiful A-Frame cabin in the woods of Windenburg. She's moved from her family fishing business in Sulani to the woods to be closer to the green nature and write her nature books. I can't wait to see what people do with this :) Is there a hashtag if we're posting the stories on social media you'd like us to use so you can find them?
I have been looking for a way to go through all the expansions! I feel like there is so much gameplay I never played with. Usually I just don't know where to start. I'm sick right now but I'll be watching this series today till I can start playing myself. Also, I'm Dutch as well! I'm exploring your channel since last night. I'm happy I found it. I can't listen well to all streamers but you are more calm then others which is really nice to listen to. You are also inspiring me to finally start building myself! I have been putting it off because the building in Sims 4 is just so different but your bootcamp series has really inspired me. Can't wait to play once I can!
I am definitely going to try this challenge. I bought almost all the packs but only mostly play with cats and dogs. So this will be something interesting to do.
Aaaah I love that! Have so so so much fun with playing through them 🩵 I also have packs that I play with more standardly and this challenge has really taken me out of my game comfort zone but it’s making the game feel so much more in depth 😊
I'm definitely late to seeing this challenge, but it's SO exciting to me that it exists. Since sims 2 I've been doing a couple challenges I called the 100% challenge and the 100% legacy, where I had to complete every branch of every career, complete every aspiration and collection, and max out all skills. Either on one sim, or in order of release throughout a legacy depending on which one I was doing. But I could never figure out a good way to do it with ts4 because there's just so much More in 4 than there ever was in 2 and 3. This has been so fun to do because it feels like it captures that same absurd completionist energy that fueled me to first come up with the idea (technically my first ever attempt was in the sims Life Stories) without taking up a million years trudging through the endlessly expanding list of packs. This is so much fun, and it's bringing back so many fond memories.
I have just started this challenge after getting your notion scoretracker. I like the freedom it gives in so many ways. My founder is Anja Pakson (pakke is pack ind Danish). She is living on a 64x64 lot since I would like this to be my family's lot for all of the generations!!!!! Some might move out and live other places in the savefile - but the heir must stay put. I am working on gettting enough points to buy that thing that makes your sim know peoples traits just by meating them.
I already love this let's play! Also, about the computer issue with the sims - I have been having that glitch as well, and usually it's because there is something either on the desk or on the floor next to it that makes the sim think there's a problem. So far changing the position of the desk or removing clutter from around it has always resolved the issue for me. Also, about the fishing thing. I know the help thing you read about the bait said to use medium sized fish as bait, but I'm 99.9% sure I've been able to use small fish as bait, too. Or maybe I'm mistaken... 😅 Anyway, I love this and can't wait for the next part!

My starting Sim is Averie Pendleton. She is an outdoorsy young gal who owns a small house in need of renovation in Willow Creek which is just fine by her as she doesn't spend much time at home anyways. A freelance Writer by day she spends the week fishing and the weekend up at granite falls. He best friend is her puppy sweetie who goes everywhere with her.
I love this. Wish I had seen it a month or so ago when I had this very same idea. I should have gone looking to see if anyone already made one. I'm starting with get to work tho just because it was the first pack I owned but otherwise I'm going to attempt to do them in order. Can't wait to start watching to help give me some ideas for my own personal game play
And also, good idea to build the house & put the furniture in and then take away the money. Imma do that too so it feels more homey and that I don't have to buy things as I go 😂
OMG! You are my sim mate LOL, seriously, like I wanted to do this but didn't know how to, and I was in literal torture untill I found you, thank you thank you thank you!!! But since I am a lunatic OCDer I have to do it in the actual order the packs came out (even the stuff packs), but I will follow each generation goals... but in order LOL!
I had a bit of a struggle mixing them myself as doing them by order was so satisfying! But eventually it was easier for the writing process to just shuffle a bit. But I totally understand wanting to do them by order!! Have the most fun with the challenge!!
😁 I use this Emoji alot! But my favorite emoji is 🐲. I actually started something Similar to this in my game. Although I was reading through your storylines for each and think I might use them to help with storylines for Sims when I'm stuck. What I did in my game is I can only use certain packs at the start but "Unlock" them as I go through the generations. I can't use any traits, furniture, CAS, gameplay or aspirations from packs I haven't unlocked yet. The packs are unlocked through life events (marriage, birth of a child etc.) or finished aspirations (although I had a glitch where some aspirations refused to say parts were "complete", so I had to cheat them complete after my sim finished it...). I had my own Simself as the founder (heh), and automatically unlocked was Base Game (Obvious reasons), Seasons (to be able to use the calendar, and seasons is my favorite), Spooky Stuff and Holiday Celebration (due to the fact those two stuff packs go well with Seasons). Therefore, I could only use Aspirations/Traits/CAS/Gameplay/BB from those specific packs. They ended up falling for and had a baby with Caleb Vatore (which unlocks the "Vampires" pack). While I was playing with Sirhc (my Simself) and Caleb I also added Caleb into the mix of completing Aspirations (I had him complete all the aspirations from the Vampires pack). They later Married Caleb (Unlocking Wedding Stories). They had Three children: Two Vampires and One Human, I do "First Born Inheritance" in my legacies, so unless the firstborn child has traits that I don't think will help with the next generation or there is a specific storyline I want to play out, all Heirs/Heiresses will be the firstborn child. Having Children unlocks several DLC: Parenthood (Birth of a child), Growing Together (Infant Birthday), Toddler Stuff (Toddler Birthday), Kids Room Stuff (Child Birthday), High School Years (Teen Birthday) But this first generation is mostly grinding the child and teen aspirations (haha) because Discover University only unlocks if all the child and teen aspirations have been completed. My Simself and Caleb's children completed all child aspirations (the two oldest esch completed 3, while the youngest only completed 2) and 1 Teen aspiration (although my Heiress is working on completing the last teen aspiration before she ages up. She ended up with the perfectionist trait, so I figured it was fitting). Anyways, Stuff Packs and Kits after an Adult Aspiration is completed. Expansion Packs and Game Packs are unlocked when all the aspirations in a previous unlocked pack have been completed. For example: Caleb was able to finish all Vampire Aspirations which lead to Cats and Dogs (as well as My First Pet Stuff) to be unlocked. To Keep track of this all I have a Microsoft Excel file I keep updated. I also keep track in game of what DLC has been unlocked by putting at least one decoration from the unlocked packs in the house.

I just discovered your channel, challenge and save file and love it! I'm on Generation 5 in a different type of legacy pack challenge but think I will switch to your version for the next generation. My heirs are actually twins, currently children. I think I will have one do the Generation 1 goals and the other do Horse Ranch goals, which I had planned to do (generation 27). I also bought Outdoor Retreat for the Build/Buy and have not done the aspiration or collections.

My founder Sim starts her life in Tomarang in a nasty, tiny apartment. After the death of her fisher grandparents she realized they had been so deep in debt that her beautiful childhood fishermans home at the beach of Tomarang now belongs to the bank. She wants to sell enough books to buy it back but it's not easy, especially not when she accidentally gets pregnant and has lovely twin babies who's cots barely fit in the small single bedroom apartment. Now she has to publish books even faster so they can buy back her spacious childhood home before the babies turn into kids. Since her books make more money than his athlete career it's mostly her squeamish boyfriend who has to change dirty diaper after dirty diaper, feeling sick to the stomach after every single one of them. Her outdoorsy heart aches for nature and she feels stressed locked up at home writing all the time, so she takes mini vacations to Granite Falls to continue writing her books from there or to recover from writers block and burnout by catching bugs - all while the diaper situation is dire back at home with the twin babies 😅

I found this challenge not too long ago and even grabbed the Notion Dashboard to track my progress. There are definitely A LOT OF FIRSTS for me on this one. This might wind up being the first legacy challenge I start and actually follow through with. ***Sorry this is so long, I'm a weirdo & excited.*** My founder, Luke Portmouth, is also quite possibly the first male/masculine Sim I'm playing as the main character - I can't believe after playing the Sims for 20+ years how sexist I am! Hahaha. I should have watched a Let's Play sooner because I wasn't sure about custom content/mod use for it. So I actually took all my mods & cc out accept for aesthetics & to be honest, I don't think I'll ever play without MC Command Center. (UI, Gshade, a few silly overrides are still in). I considered keeping my full Mods folder in but I'm an ALL pack, Mod & CC hoarder and I would have had to continuously troubleshoot for missing pack exceptions. Pack wise, I kept Outdoor Retreat, Little Campers, & Romantic Gardens installed. I'm also really trying improve my screenshot/Sim photography editing skills. I'm terrible. Anyway - Luke Portsmouth's legacy is just getting started, he lives in Oasis Springs & lives paycheck to paycheck working as a writer. He supplements by selling taxidermized fish & breeding frogs he finds on his frequent trips to Granite Falls. And although he fell hard and fast for Dina Caliente the first day they met, wound up engaged to her and with 2 kids (currently toddlers) - He hadn't yet met Alysia Crawford, the Hermit. Well... shucks. There are days she's coming in the back door while Dina is leaving through the front! I'm not sure how all that is going to play out, especially since she just gave birth to Luke's first daughter! But Luke is hoping to cool things off with Alysia and really settle down and focus on Dina (I did tweak her and swapped ambitious for squeamish). I didn't understand why Luke was furious one day and even yelled at Dina because Don Lothario was bragging about his family. Turns out it was Luke's baby Don was taking care of!! Since I've never played long term as a dude before, I had no idea I could just go around 'woohooing' and then never know there were kids out in the worlds that were mine!! I hit the Family option in the side panel just clicking around and BAM there were newborns! Any way - that was a novel and I really just wanted to say, thanks for making a great layout to follow/inspire some really new gameplay for an oldie like me.
Omg I love this all!!!! So glad you’re having such a blast and it’s challenging you to play the game in a different way. That is legit one of the most fun things about starting a new legacy! Sounds like you already have a handful of great storytelling points so this can only be super fun and entertaining to play with 🩷
I'm going to start this challenge now (2024). I'm just not sure whether I will work with CC. Or am I just going to work per pack. Like generation 1 = only base game + outdoor.

@@Rosannatxt I watched your video on how to delete the packs without having to re-download them all over again. Do I always have to start a new save for the next generation? Because it is so easy, I am taking up this challenge.
@@aliciaameye82 Yes you would have to start a new save every time because the previous save cannot be played if you disable packs. So thats the downside of trying to play only the pack + the basegame. This is one of the reasons I opted out of this option
I am tempted to try this challenge and leave some generations out cause I don't have every single pack, but most of them. Which lifespan are you on? I also play in swedish language so these youtube videos might be helpful to get the traits and aspirations right since they're the same logo but not the same name hahah
I play on normal lifespan!! (although I realize throughout filming the episodes I forgot to turn aging on in the beginning… hahaha). Feel free to try it and leave generations out as you go and giving a spin to the storyline to make it your own! My writing is just a start but feel free to get creative 🧡 I hope you have loads of fun and if you need any help feel free to ask!

What I did in my game is I can only use certain packs at the start but "Unlock" them as I go through the generations. I can't use any traits, furniture, CAS, gameplay or aspirations from packs I haven't unlocked yet.
The packs are unlocked through life events (marriage, birth of a child etc.) or finished aspirations (although I had a glitch where some aspirations refused to say parts were "complete", so I had to cheat them complete after my sim finished it...).
I had my own Simself as the founder (heh), and automatically unlocked was Base Game (Obvious reasons), Seasons (to be able to use the calendar, and seasons is my favorite), Spooky Stuff and Holiday Celebration (due to the fact those two stuff packs go well with Seasons). Therefore, I could only use Aspirations/Traits/CAS/Gameplay/BB from those specific packs.
They ended up falling for and had a baby with Caleb Vatore (which unlocks the "Vampires" pack). While I was playing with Sirhc (my Simself) and Caleb I also added Caleb into the mix of completing Aspirations (I had him complete all the aspirations from the Vampires pack). They later Married Caleb (Unlocking Wedding Stories).
They had Three children: Two Vampires and One Human, I do "First Born Inheritance" in my legacies, so unless the firstborn child has traits that I don't think will help with the next generation or there is a specific storyline I want to play out, all Heirs/Heiresses will be the firstborn child.
Having Children unlocks several DLC: Parenthood (Birth of a child), Growing Together (Infant Birthday), Toddler Stuff (Toddler Birthday), Kids Room Stuff (Child Birthday), High School Years (Teen Birthday)
But this first generation is mostly grinding the child and teen aspirations (haha) because Discover University only unlocks if all the child and teen aspirations have been completed. My Simself and Caleb's children completed all child aspirations (the two oldest esch completed 3, while the youngest only completed 2) and 1 Teen aspiration (although my Heiress is working on completing the last teen aspiration before she ages up. She ended up with the perfectionist trait, so I figured it was fitting).
Anyways, Stuff Packs and Kits after an Adult Aspiration is completed.
Expansion Packs and Game Packs are unlocked when all the aspirations in a previous unlocked pack have been completed.
For example: Caleb was able to finish all Vampire Aspirations which lead to Cats and Dogs (as well as My First Pet Stuff) to be unlocked.
To Keep track of this all I have a Microsoft Excel file I keep updated. I also keep track in game of what DLC has been unlocked by putting at least one decoration from the unlocked packs in the house.

I just discovered your channel, challenge and save file and love it! I'm on Generation 5 in a different type of legacy pack challenge but think I will switch to your version for the next generation. My heirs are actually twins, currently children. I think I will have one do the Generation 1 goals and the other do Horse Ranch goals, which I had planned to do (generation 27). I also bought Outdoor Retreat for the Build/Buy and have not done the aspiration or collections.
Oooh I love that idea!! Have so much fun with the challenge 🩵 Feel free to make it your own to fit with your storyline and everything! I’m currently playing with twins in the second generation and some packs really lend itself with having multiple aspirations and things! ☺️

My founder Sim starts her life in Tomarang in a nasty, tiny apartment. After the death of her fisher grandparents she realized they had been so deep in debt that her beautiful childhood fishermans home at the beach of Tomarang now belongs to the bank. She wants to sell enough books to buy it back but it's not easy, especially not when she accidentally gets pregnant and has lovely twin babies who's cots barely fit in the small single bedroom apartment. Now she has to publish books even faster so they can buy back her spacious childhood home before the babies turn into kids. Since her books make more money than his athlete career it's mostly her squeamish boyfriend who has to change dirty diaper after dirty diaper, feeling sick to the stomach after every single one of them. Her outdoorsy heart aches for nature and she feels stressed locked up at home writing all the time, so she takes mini vacations to Granite Falls to continue writing her books from there or to recover from writers block and burnout by catching bugs - all while the diaper situation is dire back at home with the twin babies 😅

I found this challenge not too long ago and even grabbed the Notion Dashboard to track my progress. There are definitely A LOT OF FIRSTS for me on this one.
This might wind up being the first legacy challenge I start and actually follow through with. ***Sorry this is so long, I'm a weirdo & excited.***
My founder, Luke Portmouth, is also quite possibly the first male/masculine Sim I'm playing as the main character - I can't believe after playing the Sims for 20+ years how sexist I am! Hahaha. I should have watched a Let's Play sooner because I wasn't sure about custom content/mod use for it. So I actually took all my mods & cc out accept for aesthetics & to be honest, I don't think I'll ever play without MC Command Center. (UI, Gshade, a few silly overrides are still in).
I considered keeping my full Mods folder in but I'm an ALL pack, Mod & CC hoarder and I would have had to continuously troubleshoot for missing pack exceptions.
Pack wise, I kept Outdoor Retreat, Little Campers, & Romantic Gardens installed. I'm also really trying improve my screenshot/Sim photography editing skills. I'm terrible.
Anyway - Luke Portsmouth's legacy is just getting started, he lives in Oasis Springs & lives paycheck to paycheck working as a writer.
He supplements by selling taxidermized fish & breeding frogs he finds on his frequent trips to Granite Falls. And although he fell hard and fast for Dina Caliente the first day they met, wound up engaged to her and with 2 kids (currently toddlers) - He hadn't yet met Alysia Crawford, the Hermit. Well... shucks. There are days she's coming in the back door while Dina is leaving through the front! I'm not sure how all that is going to play out, especially since she just gave birth to Luke's first daughter!
But Luke is hoping to cool things off with Alysia and really settle down and focus on Dina (I did tweak her and swapped ambitious for squeamish). I didn't understand why Luke was furious one day and even yelled at Dina because Don Lothario was bragging about his family. Turns out it was Luke's baby Don was taking care of!! Since I've never played long term as a dude before, I had no idea I could just go around 'woohooing' and then never know there were kids out in the worlds that were mine!! I hit the Family option in the side panel just clicking around and BAM there were newborns! Any way - that was a novel and I really just wanted to say, thanks for making a great layout to follow/inspire some really new gameplay for an oldie like me.
Omg I love this all!!!! So glad you’re having such a blast and it’s challenging you to play the game in a different way. That is legit one of the most fun things about starting a new legacy! Sounds like you already have a handful of great storytelling points so this can only be super fun and entertaining to play with 🩷

@@Rosannatxt I watched your video on how to delete the packs without having to re-download them all over again. Do I always have to start a new save for the next generation? Because it is so easy, I am taking up this challenge.
@@aliciaameye82 Yes you would have to start a new save every time because the previous save cannot be played if you disable packs. So thats the downside of trying to play only the pack + the basegame. This is one of the reasons I opted out of this option

I am tempted to try this challenge and leave some generations out cause I don't have every single pack, but most of them. Which lifespan are you on? I also play in swedish language so these youtube videos might be helpful to get the traits and aspirations right since they're the same logo but not the same name hahah
I play on normal lifespan!! (although I realize throughout filming the episodes I forgot to turn aging on in the beginning… hahaha). Feel free to try it and leave generations out as you go and giving a spin to the storyline to make it your own! My writing is just a start but feel free to get creative 🧡 I hope you have loads of fun and if you need any help feel free to ask!

Normally the computer glitch makes you sit down before you use the computer if the desk is too clutter
