The way my mouth dropped when you showed me that you can place a ceiling on top of the patio by clicking on the yellow line! 😲😮I had no idea, I have learned some things here and am grateful. Thank you for doing this. 🥰
It feels like I’ve been looking for this type of tutorial forever. And no shade to any of the other creators I’ve seen. But this one just includes EVERYTHING! I learned a lot. I plan to use this as kind of a class for myself. Be in game and building while watching and trying all the tips. Thank you sooo so much for taking the time. You’ve definitely gained a new follower here❤
I’m not a new builder, but I still enjoyed this video so much. I love seeing everyone’s process; some of my favorite videos are “build with me” videos where the creator builds in real time, but still edited so it’s not hours long 😂 The landscaping and interior portions were helpful. Thank you! 😊
I’ve played the sims for years and with sims 4 always struggled building and would give up so quickly! But this video helped so much and has sparked my interest back into building! Thank you so much!!
This was great. Im not brand new to building but some of these shortcuts were really helpful that i never knew existed! Like F5 for quarter tiles, Shift C for roofing, and shift for by wall foundation placement! You are very informative and really good at tesching concepts here. Thanks for the tutorial!
I've had my build channel for 3 years, admittedly I was never a builder until I started my channel, but anyway, I'm not a newbie at this, and yet I learned soooo much from this video!! Even if they were things I knew, I feel like this video will help me be more organized and streamlined which is probably where most of my struggle is. Thank you so much for sharing your talents - this was unbelievably helpful, even to a seasoned builder 💚💚
I’ve been playing for a week, and I’m so glad I found this video! I tried to upgrade my Sims bathroom fixtures, and somehow the game deleted not only the floor, but also created a dugout into the basement that I can’t fill. I tried everything and in the end had to buy a new housebecause my Sim had no bathroom lol
I know most of the tricks since im playing sims for a good couple of years but i think its a really good tutorial! simple and clear for begginers, very helpful for sure!
I keep watching tutorials and still, never build or if I do I get really lazy and end up doing a terrible house once again 😂 thank God there's amazing people like you sharing good houses on the gallery
I'm not a builder whatsoever but learning tips that I had ZERO idea about, like some of the roofing, that is going to help soooo much when I want to make some adjustments or need to add onto a build and not get completely frustrated trying to figure out how to do it. Thank you SO MUCH for this video, it's extremely helpful and in depth ❤
I truly enjoy mostly all of your videos but this one…I have already downloaded it and saved it so I can refer back to it over and over. The way you teach and show how to build…thank you for this!!
not only this video is very helpful but also pleasant to watch!! i always feel like theres something off abt my builds even though i know the basics, so i always end up using houses from the gallery lol!! im definitely going to try my hand at actually building now :)
Mari, this is such a good build tutorial! How wonderful that you did this for us! I’ve been building in the Sims for 10 years now, but I still learn something every time I watch someone else build. From your video, I learned that I can hold the alt key to adjust the height of the roof and it won’t snap… I did not know that! I love the pacing of your tutorial and your sweet voice is very easy to listen to! Thanks again! ❤️🎄🎄❤️
never knew about the shift+c option for roofing! this is probably the best and most easily digestible full building overview i've ever seen, great job!
OMG this video is sooo perfect and useful !! Thank you so much for all these tips you are an angel 😊 If you have time to make other videos like this with different style of houses that will be soooo nice ❤
Thank you for this video! I've been playing Sims since S1 and building has always been such a blindspot for me, especially after the online gallery became available. But going to start/attempt building for myself now! 😊
I know this is an old video, but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see how to do the cozy lighting mod that you have. I've seen other videos but it just seems confusing and i like the way you explain in detail and don't just brush over information assuming " everyone knows about this".
Found this very educational and Helpful with CAPITAL H. But, one thing I'd like to see more in Sims4 is home builders taking into consideration room for CLOSETS and LAUNDRY. Can't emphasize less on this, because what is a house without closets and laundry right...?
This was such a big help for me. I think I’m a pretty good builder but I learned so much with this video. I always wanted to know how you put items in a counter now I know. I had no idea about shift with the foundation or B for building. Thanks so much for making this. Now I can come back and look at it when I need to know something!!
You are amazing! I'm not good at building but fortunately for me I don't need to be because I have you! I have at least 6 of your builds (probably more) in my game. I am impressed by you every single build and your LPs are hilariously funny. I wish there were more!
Thank you so much I really enjoyed this, and the tips and cheats are really handy. I have recently tried the terrain tool and it's not that bad, but I didn't know about the erase thank you for letting me know. The roofing has always scared me but practice I'll improve. I am going to write this video down so I can refer to when I get stuck since I have my iPad.
Hi! Thank you for making this video. My biggest struggle is actually so basic. How are you rotating your screen so smoothly? I’m using the keyboard, and it doesn’t feel right. Thank you ❤
Great video. I consider myself an ok builder but learned some new tricks and different ways to think about a build. I didn't know about the trick to just add foundation to a section of a room. I thought it had to go all the way! So that was a great tip for me. I also attack roofing with the same question, "Will the water run off?". Thanks!
Thank you so much for this informative video. Please do a video on the debug items and the better build/buy mod. This base game blue suburban is so cute.
Thank you so much I’ve been trying to build like almost all year but I’m too much of a perfectionist so I would constantly bulldoze the build but I don’t want to constantly keep downloading others lovely work
It took me years to figure this out but I believe people who have Sims 4 settings enabled like Sims 4 camera, I believe you can just click 9 or 0 to raise or lower an object, if you use The Sims 3 camera, I believe you have to click shift 0 or shift 9 to raise an item
How do you delete walls like you did when you first went inside to start the floor plan? Everyone just skips over that I have to use the hammer tool to delete walls or clicking on them.
This helped a lot, I’m sooo bad at building, like bad bad. I’m always getting shells from the Gallery and just re-doing the interior, cause that’s what I enjoy more and I’m better at. But sometimes I would like to build my own builds, but they just won’t look that good. Thanks for this tips on how to improve on the building! 🩵
Hi, I'm having some difficulty with a portion of the roofing process. I've copied some of the shells you created and I'm having the worst time roofing the small room on the right uppermost portion of the house. It's going through the room. What do I do ?
I wanted to ask if you have any videos on roofing specifically and how to get around certain roofing issues? Like when the roof is visible from inside the house (which usually goes away when you create a room but sometimes it doesn't go away). It's also annoying when I am trying to roof around the balcony and then the fences disappear because the game thinks the roof wall is the wall and not the fence. I have tried using the method to extend the eaves and keeping the roof one tile shorter so it doesn't touch the fence, but it looks hollow from the sides and it bothers me. There is also that problem with roofing when it's visible when I open the floor below and the roof sticks inside. Sorry for asking for a lot of different things, but you seem very well versed with building so I couldn't help myself. Thank you!
I like to watch building guides just to see how people roof. The things I struggle with the most is roofing and then landscaping. If I want to do two different types of roofing, it just doesn't work out smoothly. I just wish roofing was easier. As for landscaping, I feel like either I don't do it or overdo it. I am just not consistent.
@ I don’t mean like plants for gardening, but thanks :)) I’ve just noticed ever since I got the seasons pack when I’m trying to landscape some of the trees or bushes look darker than they use to do and it annoys me lol
I have a question, cause i had 2 years break in playing sims. I am using camera for sims4 cause it seems easier for me. Anyway... In the past everything was working for me fine, but now alt button does nothing regarding placing items freely. My game is updated, i fixed it and it doesnt work. Even with cam for sims3. Anyone now what can be the problem? Its annoying.
I always wondered in the Sims 4 why they always build starter homes 1 bed and 1 bathroom I get a little annoyed, but I guess there must be a good reason. I prefer 2 bed and 1 bath.
The way my mouth dropped when you showed me that you can place a ceiling on top of the patio by clicking on the yellow line! 😲😮I had no idea, I have learned some things here and am grateful. Thank you for doing this. 🥰

no way, that's so cool!! i'm so honored my video helped you with building your very first home! hope you had fun! 🫶

That cozy rewards TV is my absolutely favorite Sims 4 reward of all time. ❤😊 Thanks for the awesome video.
I never knew how to add a foundation until this video. Thank you so much!
How are you choosing the swatch after you place an item?

Hi! Thank you so much! I've played the Sims for 25 years now but I've never been able to build nice houses..

How do you delete walls like you did when you first went inside to start the floor plan? Everyone just skips over that I have to use the hammer tool to delete walls or clicking on them.
I got it just hold down control and draw over the wall you want deleted.

Do you know what the "alt" alternative is for a MacBook Air keyboard, so I can place things easier?
hey this was very informative, thanks !
This is an amazing guide. How do you rotate as you please (no snapping) without using the ‘’ keys? I’m on mac and haven’t been able to figure it out.

i just need this video
BTW if you ever wanted to do a video on the uses for debug and how you access them. It's a mod?
wait how did you remove the wall at 15:50 😭
Hold down the CTRL button and drag along the wall as if you are placing a new wall

you can also put testing cheats true in and works also can put money 9999999 and have max money
How can i make the plants not be affected by the seasons pack? Ever since i got it, the plants always look dark and i hate it
when you place the planters inside (in a greenhouse for example) or just under a roof in general, they won't be affected by the seasons! :)
@ I don’t mean like plants for gardening, but thanks :)) I’ve just noticed ever since I got the seasons pack when I’m trying to landscape some of the trees or bushes look darker than they use to do and it annoys me lol

I have the tool mod and how do I use the tool mod since u didn’t mention it in the video bc I’m new to mods and rlly appreciate the help
Omg ik been playing sims for decades and i dont now the tip:f5 😂
Those columns right in front of the doors are not it. But the House shape looks really cute!
i think the columns work perfectly fine! 😊
That’s J-Shape kitchen 😅
lmao yes!!! 😂
The Sims devs are the only real "pro builders" and i kinda dont want to build like them😐
Thank you so much this helped me to understand the world of building 🥹🙏🏼♥️
This was super helpful and fun to watch. Thank you!🙏🏽💕
