For the free placement on counters or tables, one trick I learned form Caryn and Connie was using a floor lamp as guide for where you want your object to be. Game changer.
When you do this, please don't forget to test it all out before uploading to the Gallery! That way people don't have to try and figure out why they can't use a sink or something.
The kids toys clutter is what I always do in my builds once I've got a baby in the household - like come on who didn't have a full on toy kitchen in the living room growing up?? 😂
Something I haven't seen people try to do is build with only premade rooms. lol There are so many premade rooms to choose from. I've made houses with them a few times in the past (partly out of laziness sadly) and it's kind of fun for me in a way. :) You could minimally edit the rooms after placing them or only add things to them, or you could be super strict with yourself and keep them the way they are. lol
wait.... i have been playing sims 4 on console since the day it came out and i am exclusively a builder... i had NO IDEA about the custom paintings in the gallery ?!?!!?? i cant WAIT to play tomorrow omfg
Thanks for compiling these tips, Satch! I've seen some of these tips before, but you do a great job explaining them! I always forget how to raise and lower objects, let alone the transferring from one shelf/counter to another for better clutter.
a RUclips masterpiece, even for those who are not beginners in building, thank you. there was a lot here that I didn't know or hadn't thought of, 5 stars, chefs kiss, 10/10
I don’t usually leave comments on the videos I watch, but I need to leave one on this one. Of all the videos about tips for the Sims four this one has been the most educational and easy to understand! Thank you so much for sharing!
If you have the bathroom clutter kit and you want to make a coffee bar, take the soap dispenser from the clutter kit (I use the white swatch) and size it up before you put it on your counter. It looks like a little creamer dispenser. You can also use the bath salts in white and size it down to look like sugar.
Thank you SO MUCH for the cheat I've been wondering for ages how you all move the furniture like that. To be honest satch this video is amazing and SO helpful to me ive basically written down every thing lol. THANK YOU!!
I have adhd and I don't know if it's related by I always have big ideas for a build but easily get overwhelmed how to approach it because my attention goes from one room to another, to another lot and then to another game. I love these tips because it helps me to gain more structure in the way I build!
0:31 this has made my life a whole lot easier, like i love decorating, using my creativity to the max, wishing that i could rotate however i want, AND I DIDNT KNOW I COULD DO THIS😭😭😭 i love this game
With cluttering one room at a time, I still do one room at a time but as I’m going through the catalog for the first room, anything I want for another room I purchase and immediately put it into the household inventory. Then all subsequent rooms I clutter out of the inventory. Accomplishes the same thing without jumping around the house as much.
This video comes right when I'm in my "build clever and functional with almost nothing but basegame" era! Just a quick thing with the ottoman trick: it is functional if you elevate it two times AT MOST. (I watch a lot of MyaSchmya's videos right now) Thanks for the vid!
I'm gonna scream, I was just thinking about what I could possibly search to find this specific way people build such cool houses and here this was in my suggestions, so perfect and informative omg thanks so much!
Just started playing last week, already hooked! These tips will help so much in making the personalised homes that I prefer to create! Thank you xx 🤗 ♥
Oh wow, I knew about the gallery art stuff, but I had no idea people did the "kitchen clutter" and "bathroom clutter" stuff. That's going to save me SO much time I usually spend in the clutter tab. I really prefer to work one room at a time, but since clutter isn't sorted by room, that's never really an option. ty!
While I am no builder, I did know of several of these tips BUT I am so happy to say I found a few that I didn't know of/think of and can't wait to try so thank you Satch!
Ive learned so much new things today :D Thank you so much, you sure are my favorite simmer. As a special thanks, I build you a cozy home that turned out bigger then I planned and I made a sim to look just like you, who gets to sleep around the block with all the beautiful men. 🤣🤣🤣 My sim you is gonna be so happy. 🥰
this is the most epic sims video on the internet! ive heard a lot of these before but learned a lot too and so great to have these all in one place!!! thank you!!!! this changed my life
I am enjoying your video a lot 😻 I like the tips you give but love the way you are explaining them, even the ones I already knew. Thank you 🤗 I like to overlap doors to give the cabinet illusion, or big windows; if you turn them you can even have like an entrance. I like to use like only 2/3 or 3/4 of the property for buildings the rest I use as transitions to surroundings, similar to you, I put there benches, springs, ponds … I like to use the shelves, I usually don’t like what on them, so I put something bigger that I like more on it like a mantle. I love cluttering way too much; but it’s not only the size of the room that can contribute to that but also the distance between the items. I like to put not one door in the middle of the wall but in the corners, while the door handles are symmetrical, same with windows. I like to turn landscaping objects a little when they are close to each other, it think it looks more natural to me. I like having like a special series of window styles on one build: it can be determined by color, form, style or how I want to mix, e.g. classy but timeless could be three windows like one big in the middle and another kind of windows on each side…, the repeated pattern gives the illusion of idk well-thought 😅 maybe you like that too 🤗
Something I use to easily clutter things, is sizing down and moving up one of those basegame teddybears and using it to place an object where I want to
The problem I have with cluttering a computer desk is sometimes my sims won't use the computer on their own. I have to make them sit and then use it. If I command them to use it while they are standing, it will drop from the queue. BWT, your laugh is contagious!
On the other hand, you definitely have to put something on the right and left of the computer, otherwise they are going to leave empty dirty plates and drinking glasses there.
Thank you Satch for the basics and all these. I really like builds and architectures, but sucks so much at it. I feel overwhelmed and inferior when seeing other people's builds or their builds videos. Thank you so much Satch
You are absolutely brilliant. You have given me so many good ideas. I am a console player as well and you have helped me so much. I have now. Subscribed to you. Thank you.
The curtain you used actually has a "shelf" that matches. I use TOOL so I like to use it and size it up a very small fraction that covers all of the attached shelf. I'm loving the other tips, though. I use the urns all of the time for all kinds of things. I also clutter en masse like you do...too much time wasted if you try to do it room by room! However, I just kind of shove them into rooms and go back later to style...not enough patience, LOL. Maybe it's me but I can never get the stove to work after placing that pot on it. That color site would be terrific for TS3. I grab that little saucer light and I speckle it throughout my build...until I complete that room. It's great for being able to see the room when decorating and I worry about the ambiance when I'm done. I also do the same thing with the color/brightness, generally going for a sorta white light at around 80%.
Those wall boxes (shelves) from HSY or DHD stack perfectly under staircases. They are perfect for a hallway storage space, I usually fill them with shoes and all sorts of clutter. You can literally fill the entire wall under the staircase with those boxes as the space is usually useless, and like I said... they stack perfectly.
I thought this piece 5:57 was always meant to go inside the tub or shower. But I also always play with move objects activated, I just can not stand playing with that off. So does it not snap inside those objects when that cheat is not activated? It is a rack of shampoo, conditioner, body washes and a bar of soap after all.
I have a pinched nerve in my elbow that makes using the mouse pretty painful so I try to limit my movements. The one thing that KILLS me is buying multiples of something like upgrade parts and having to click that button 40 times to stock up.
The dream home decorator modular cubes would, for a long time, show up EMPTY and dump all items on them into your household inventory every time you left the house and returned again - so if you left to go to an active career, then came home...all your shelves would be empty. I stopped using them bc of that - those ever get fixed?
19:58 Fam tell me how to extend my floor type, I struggle with getting my single step to not look so out of place being different from my porch 😭, I can’t figure out how to get them to match! - playstation player
You should do a challenge where you have to use every single item from some kit/pack. It can be throughout an entire build but some items are really niche and it's a fun struggle.
That comment about the boy's room being pink was at least unfortunate. Colors have no gender. Kids don't associate colors with gender until we tell them to.
Just FYI, that curtain that you used the shelves to make it look like a rod, has actually a DIY curtain rod that came with the kit it was on. You did not need to use the shelves. Also another FYI, using the F5 key, it will allow you to place objects 1/8th of the square tile. And one more thing using alt + PgUp/Dn while the grid is on, will allow you to toggle the title on the floor levels, I actually learned that from your channel.
the fact sam actually told us base game hacks too knowing some of us only have that, is so sweet 🥺🥺
For the free placement on counters or tables, one trick I learned form Caryn and Connie was using a floor lamp as guide for where you want your object to be. Game changer.
Holy shit, thanks for the tip!!!!
I use a mannequin from Get to Work -- activities.
I use the Windows and doors for reference. Never thought of using an item like that 😊
I absolutely love Caryn and Connie
Omg I LOVE Caryn and Connie!!!!!
Those curtains actually have some completely matching empty rail that you can use to fill out the space. You don’t need to use a shelf ☺️
which curtains? do all of the curtains have empty rails/rods, or only some of the curtains?
@@second_second_no only some do, those are the desert luxe curtains! The matching rod is at the bottom of the curtain section
Yeah I was going to say this! The curtains from the Modern Luxe kit have empty rails too
14:17 - So are we not going to talk about that gorgeous house? Who knew Satch was sleeping on occult builds. 😍
what do you think sleeping on means
love how he cares abt console people😭😭
Yes we need love too🥺
It's definitely appreciated, console players are always forgotten.
Right, I play on the ps5 so I love when stuff is included for us too.
I tried to play on the PS5 the game just freezes all the time.
I feel so loved
When you do this, please don't forget to test it all out before uploading to the Gallery! That way people don't have to try and figure out why they can't use a sink or something.

Devon Bumpkin did a video using premade rooms. It was hilarious
@@H3ll0JackieThanks for letting me know. :)
the kitchen counter clutter thing drove me insane this is a great video
literally blew my mind when he showed that
Dude actually makes his builds feel homely. I don't see that charm a lot
wait.... i have been playing sims 4 on console since the day it came out and i am exclusively a builder... i had NO IDEA about the custom paintings in the gallery ?!?!!?? i cant WAIT to play tomorrow omfg
Just want to clarify that to size things on PlayStation (which I play on), you use the left/right arrow buttons😄
I’ve been building since the sims 1 and this video still honestly taught me new stuff so thank you sooooo much
Thanks for compiling these tips, Satch! I've seen some of these tips before, but you do a great job explaining them! I always forget how to raise and lower objects, let alone the transferring from one shelf/counter to another for better clutter.
I like to use the subtle saucer just for building... because it's nice to see what I'm doing... it really helps in worlds that have funky lighting..
a RUclips masterpiece, even for those who are not beginners in building, thank you. there was a lot here that I didn't know or hadn't thought of, 5 stars, chefs kiss, 10/10
So many ideas I have never thought of. Thanks
My biggest "tip" is to just download MC Command Center, UI cheats extension, and cc if you can 😂 save money and time
I can't unzip files. I know there is something I can download but haven't figured it out. My daughter will know but haven't had a chance to ask her

Omg this just made my sims building so much more exciting! I was getting a little frustrated/bored with only owning pets and the base game
Omg I did not know about how to put more than 12:05 two things on a counter thanks

The colour swatching is such a great tip for Sims 3, where we still have a full colour wheel and hexcodes 😉
Me clutching my pearls at Satch being a Karen at me during the intro 😭

The Gallery Rooms are so underrated it's crazy. Organized Debug doesn't always help I'd be lost without my clutter rooms x'D

Your've got personality and secondly your video's are helpful.

that's only with the better build buy mod i thought
