Pokemon games are usually surprisingly short - the new games streamline the games even further to make them easier to beat as well. I will say my 9 hours is while laser-focused on the objectives, but admittedly I think I had more fun this way because the level curve makes a lot more sense when playing this way. The new EXP System becomes a bigger problem if you go out and do non-story things for a while.

Gen 4 was my favorite gen and honestly this seems pretty good, but I'm still not buying it. The original Sun was my last Pokémon game and I hated it so much that I don't think I'll ever buy one again unless they do something really new and interesting.

Honestly I was mixed as heck but my positive points ended up way outshining my negative points once the update hit and it got into gear. They made some good changes where necessary and it actually felt really fun once it got going.
