    I've learnt cracking when sia was on the carpool karaoke show. She said then when you wanna push.. Just make your cords tighter.
    And when I did that.. And breathed in, My voice cracked... So now I'm able to talk with cracks. That was a good tip.

    I want to be able to learn how to squeak /crack my voice on purpose like Sia does especially in her song Alive... how can you learn how to do this or can you even learn how to?

    Im very glad i discovered this channel. I love your explanations. Quite thorough and understandable. I am working my way thru some vocal challenges and your channel makes me feel i could take some charge of my issue. Had a pelvic floor prolapse and lost major diaphragm control. Along with cracking and swinging into falsetto long before needed

    My style is more operatic because I used was taught that way. I want to transform my style to how is used to be! I used to be able to crack and sing like Sia (hitting high notes and all) but now I can't crack my voice and I just sing the notes really straight! I'm trying to improve my voice slowly and this video really helped me find my voice again! Thank you so much!

    THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! i have been singing my whole life and had 3 vocal oaches and none of them told me about a mix or head voice so i have never worked it. I am 25 and JUST trying to use a mix and head voice and cant seem to sing a note above Bb3 without terrible cracking. It seemed that it was strengthening my voice but now i know i was right! THANK YOU THANK YOU THAAAANK YOOOOOUU!!!!!! I dont feel as crumby or crazy now!

    finally! I always strain my voice while singing so it tends to crack when I'm trying to reach high notes -,- I also noticed that when I try to reach high notes, my jaw tightens giving me headaches and makes my voice sound like I am shouting, what should I do?

    I needed this. The "gig" helped me understand compression. I feel like I can use it and see how it changes my ability to hit higher notes. I'll start from the Middle Notes though!

    dear Justin: compression is really awesome for a singer and I think it's the missed part of reaching mixed voice for the first time.
    But sometimes my larynx feel uncomfort.

    Thank you so much for all your knowledge. I feel like my cracking happens in my chest, I go for a note and I cant get pass, my voice gets faint and I cant control what's happening. Its mostly the in between notes never on a high note. You ever heard of this? ..I'm befuddled.

    Hi Justin, Thank u so much 4 free lessons on utube. I wanna know, what course did u take in college? Was it Conservatory of Music? U'r a musical genius & u know d scientific explanations of ur lessons. Some people say that we cannot have both worlds: powerful voice that fills up a concert hall or belting high notes. Is it true? Or can we have both? I want to learn more. Thanks .

    I do this exercise first now, most effective on cracking voice then i continue with compression exercises. My voice used to break a lot, now theres a lot of improvement plus i can do 2 notes more already (From C4 to E4)

    I think you mentioned it but it came and went so fast but the flip side of developing compression is learning to finesse the light coordination so you get to where the sound is connected but not strained light but not breathy sort of like meeting the vocal cords where they are. You mentioned this recently in the episode on expanding your range,
    By the way I’m a student not a coach I just thoroughly enjoy pedagogy

    In your video you gave an example of complete head-voice. I was wondering if this was also an example of falsetto. I have looked a lot online to find the difference if there is one, but i get a lot of conflicting answers. It would be awesome if you could clear that up for me. Also, if they are different, how can you tell the difference in your own voice.

    "Mix" means singing with chest and head/falsetto voice at the same time or being able to switch between the two?

      Hi NAT! Mix Voice is a mixture of both head and chest at the same time. Check out Episode 88 "How To Sing Mix Voice"! -NYVC
