That's cool! Have you heard Justin's range and how different he can make his voice sound. You got see this. Amazing: ruclips.net/video/tnSSp3R9Wd8v/видео.htmle
Hi Justin, ive been singing for years, and i always had problems with singing high and even singing the middle notes, but then i found your channel and it made a world of difference to me....thanks a lot, you've changed my life BIG THANKS FROM BRAZIL !
What the hell. So this was it? It was elusive for me at some parts but after knowing that compression does the trick I can automatically hit it from nowhere? Glad to know this one. Great teaching! Thank you!!
Wow, this "bub bub bub bub" stuff fixed my mixed voice almost overnight! I was able to hit some notes that I previously had to falsetto. Thank you so much for your amazing videos Justin!!!
this may get lost in the sea of comments but I've never had an online vocal lesson that makes me wanna stay. I used to feel frustrated when I could not do it right and now because of you, I'm eager to learn and I actually feel bad when the lesson is ending. I truly appreciate the way on how you engage with your audience and students. Thank you so much! Not only am I learning a lot, I'm also enjoying myself especially on exploring my voice. One request: can you add more than one practice exercises? I truly enjoy the exercises but I would wish that there was more than one. Only of you don't mind!
Wow! We're so glad to hear this, Cinna! Some videos have many exercises but most only have one or two. :) For TONS of exercises you can get our Vocal Course at VoiceLessonsToTheWorld.com. Or, you can even create your own from the info we have in the videos! Hope this helps, keep up the awesome work Cinna :) -NYVC
For all singers experiment in all sides of singing like nasal resonance and vocal compression... This channel has many tips for mixed voice❤️😇🙏🏻 it really helps to watch all his video about mixed voice...
Hi Justin, just wanted to say your site should be up there with Justinguitar. You two are just the best, no-bullshit kind and giving people when it comes to online music education!
Soo helpful I instantly was able to sing a song correctly. I used to go to falsetto and i didnt know what I was doing wrong now I use the mix and it sounds perfect
Justin, your channel is amazing, I'm practicing all day with all the exercises of your channel, I would love to visit your school at NY, but unfortunately I can't, yet, I'm learning a lot with your videos, please keep it up. Cheers from Brazil.
Omg Justin!!! Thank you so much!!! After Tamplin and Manning i couldn't understood what is the MIX voice. They are talking so much and at the end, it is still confusing to understand... But you've showed that geniosly simple exercise where we can see and hear where the mix is. Thx one's againg, that was really my pain in the ass (= I've always tried to sing Bruno Mars - versace on the floor song raising my chest superhard or singing in falsetto but now i finally got how Bruno tricks the audience (=
Sadly, some people think that doing mix register is a matter of having limited range and power, because they are used to hear chest registers. Thanks for this substantial lesson!
What on Earth?! It has never clicked before. I've read all about mix before, watched RUclips videos, you name it, never understood it. I understand it now, and I actually did it. Are... Are you a wizard?
I'm pretty sure this guy is an actor, and also it is the best actor I ever seen, I wonder if you did some theater lessons before... your teaching is high level man, like really... wow 'im really impressed hahaha
Justin will appreciate your kind words Caio! He did have theatre training and was an actor before he started voice teaching and before he founded his company- New York Vocal Coaching. We're so glad you like the show! Thank you for subscribing! -NYVC
I won't thank you enough for these videos about mix voice because you are such a good teacher and you make this issue easy to understand. Nevertheless while I was watching, I was wondering: "Do I have to have a strong head voice in order to sing in mix voice?". Please answer me because I really want to improve my singing and I think you are the one who can help me getting better! (Sorry for my English :) )
EDIT: props for your great videos again man! I do the pushed chest voice thing or flip to falsetto. Weird thing: I can go from my highest falsetto note (which is actually quite high I found out) to my lowest note making an ''ooo'' sound which I never could before... but... when singing I can't do the same thing. It must be between my ears or something but I always start pushing again and that compresses my voice to the point of breaking -> hoarse sound, flat and sharp notes and sometimes even a ehmm ''tibetan throat singing'' type of sound overlay over my voice. It's not actual tibetan throat singing (which I can do and do all the time without effort strangely enough) but a sort of vibrating 'break' so to say. Almost like 2 voices at the same time. It's infurating... but probably because I used to do false chord metal growling and screaming (painlessly) I guess... wrong muscle tensions perhaps?
I've been confused up until now about registers. I wasn't sure that I was doing them but now I understand that it's just compression levels that separate them. So I've been doing them the whole time. That's what all those different voices are, just different mixes. Execution is different though. I understand it but I can't get clear notes with too much compression.
Z Power it's been 4 years for me now. I hope I do the same that you did man. The worst part is I know exactly what true freedom is because my brother is stupid good at singing! Tortures me everyday when I hear that mixed voice, reaching high notes with a full sound. But I guess you're right, I won't know true TRUE freedom until I can do it myself. Enjoy it my man, I hope I get it soon.

Hey Stoney J 😉 kidding hey i have a Question but first of all Justin i saw so much inprovement so thank u And i have a Question about Head resonance like what do you mean by keeping the air in the head And airflow what do u need to do to keep that And what is air in the headvoice
i like how he asked the right questions and didnt leave you hanging like "i have talked about this is other video so go there where i tell you something else instead of answering the question here"
i'm so emotional right now. you're the first one, ever, to really help me understand this [censored]. and you really have singing abillities and nice tone, unlike other vocal coaches online. i'm just being authentic right now. thank you.
Okay the lesson is good and all and I appreciate and he's clearly good at dealing with teaching patiently but can I just say his face looks young but his arms look full and masculine like someone gave him the wrong arms or something just had to put that out there.
My issue here is, mixed voice and head voice, I dont know if it's a mixed voice or head voice but theres something I do, I'm able to hit almost any note, BUT, it sounds forced like there is too much compression(I think) ,I was told it sounded throaty at first but thanks to you, I now know compression exists in singing..my problem when I hit those high notes, it sounds so forced, strained and over compressed and maybe even throaty but it's easier to do so I know it's not chest voice but I dont know what it is and how to control it or soften it
Wooooow. It's like a light switch that turned on for me at the end of the video, and I could almost instantly start doing smooth chest-to-falsetto transitions when I realized what the throat should feel like. 10/10.
