As an over 60's (just) lady in a choir, I'm always looking for RUclips tutorials to help the rest of the choir. I usually don't watch really young people like yourself because well how much experience do they have anyway BUT your tutorials are very good, well explained and know what you're talking about so I will be using them for myself and the choir I'm in. Yes I've subscribed. Good job young man....from Australia.
We're so glad this helped you, Helen! Thanks for subscribing! :) -NYVC
You are just adorable awesome 🙏
We'll pass your kind words on to Justin! Thanks so much Gaurav! -NYVC
YES!! Finally❣️
I love you videos Justin!! I have a question about the AY (soft, medium, loud) exercise. Is there a reason why you chose to do it on a major 6th interval?
Thank youuu for your amazing videos and tips ❤️
He chose it because it allows for a good range! Not too small of a range to work but not too much where it becomes extra difficult for folks. :) -NYVC
Mr.stoney, can you please react and explain dimash kudaibergen voice, that would means so much to me.I know you are so busy but if you got a spare time consider for it.thanks bro.

please do as many videos about mixed voice as you can, i watched a lot of videos from you but i still struggle to find it, i have a voice teacher and my biggest problem is tension while getting at high notes, i just can't seem to unlearn it and i've been trying to do that for 3 years now
That's certainly a tough one, Kristian! But keep at it! You will get there! -NYVC
Justin, have you ever heard the song “Simply the best” (Tina Turner). I’ll sing this song to you, man. You deserve it!

@@NewYorkVocalCoaching yes
Holy grail? HA! Tell me about it! My mixed voice seems to pop up now and then when the stars align.. It sounds rich, effortless, smooth, silky and has great vibrato.. I have full control over it and can make lovely sounding vocal riffs.. Problem is that it's rare that I find it and I forget how to access it again 😂😂😂
Oh no! We hope our Mix Voice episodes help you to find consistency! -NYVC
Thank you so much for a great video!! Is there any significance to the way you formed the combinations of sound/interval/concept? For instance, why is vocal fold strength exercised using "mehm" on the 1-3-5-3-1 interval? Would it be just as effective to do the vocal fold strength exercise using "ay" on the 1-6-1 interval?
Hi Victor! Justin chooses every exercise very specifically. But you could certainly try the exercise in different ways and adjust the components! -NYVC
Hey Justin. You are too good and really appreciate helping us singers get their Vocal cords together :p .
One question, when I was doing the Yodel exercise- My voice didn’t break. I mean I am starting to think if I’m not doing it right. Any advice?
Hi Shafreen! You might not be going light enough on the top note, or potentially not strong enough on the bottom note. You can also check out episode 23 for more on Yodeling! -NYVC
I will watch your videos from the beginning; you're such an amazing teacher.
We hope they help! :) Keep up the great work, Leah! -NYVC
Newbie here😊 Thanks!
Welcome, TG! :) -NYVC
Yay! Finally, you're back! :) I'm always excited as a new lesson comes out. Thanks for that. But I got a prob which already starts with the second yodel 8 (g#4 and up). I cant make it lighter or softer. The 2nd 8 always sweeps back to G4 or stays silent.
I need more pressure, compression & air, to reach it. In my head it sounds clean, but as i hear it - it has a metallic shine and a little bit too much compression which adds an annoying tone to a shimmering sound that i want to have clean, light, and soft. I dont like the forced falsetto sound which can sound like a soprano. i am no female. Should i overlook it and practice a siren which sounds like it has been compressed to death?
Hi Ihum! So glad you enjoyed the episode! :) For your question, we suggest bringing it to Justin's live chat. He has one this Sunday at 1PM EST! More info in our Community Tab! -NYVC
Just placed Amazon order for your book. :)
Wow! We hope you're enjoying it! -NYVC
Justin I mean it the moment I turn 18 (I am 17 right now), I am buying that book😂
Yay! We hope you love it, Eim! :) -NYVC
For the yodel exercise should the first note be chest voice so it gets a distinct flip to head?
Yeah! -NYVC

@@NewYorkVocalCoaching I'm Alvin from LA
Can mix voice be used for classical singing? I’m a natural baritone but I don’t sing pop music. I’d like to extend my range so I can handle tenor arias and high baritone arias but after decades of trying, I still haven’t found my mix enough to sing with power, resonance and adequate breath control. In full voice, I top out at a G4 and that’s not always a guarantee. In “mix” I can get to the hallowed “C5” but it doesn’t sound right. In fact, once I go into mix, I lose my ability to sing as loudly or with as much control as I can in full voice on lower notes. I would really, finally, like to get this mix down so I can sing what I want not just what my naturally limited chest voice will allow me to.
Hi James! If you're using Mix voice in Classical, then the Low Larynx position common to the Classical style will certainly accommodate a lot of volume! If you're Mixing with a Low Larynx though, it can be a bit more difficult to maintain nuanced Compression due to the Decompression tendencies that a Low Larynx has. Compression consonants can help you to train maintaining the Compression (G, B, D). That being said, notes up that high do not need to be terribly loud. And even for the opera tenors that do them, it's not so much about volume as it is about resonance. If you'd like to talk to Justin about this, we have a live chat coming up on 9/26! There will be more information in our Community Tab closer to the date. We hope this helps! -NYVC
