I made this as a fan music video for DJ Shadow's Midnight In A Perfect World. My interpretation of the music and an outlet for creative expression. This was shot entirely with a digital camera (Canon PowerShot SD750) and edited with WMM. Enjoy and comment on what you think. Peace.

This video is what came to mind before I even saw it. A city becomes almost a sentient animal, it's veins of highways and subway lines in eternal motion. The hum of millions living in tight quarters, that groan borne from decades of urban decay and pollution. The unholy alliance of grittiness and industrial beauty. It's something you can't see on tv, you have to stand in it to see it for yourself
That sounds like Indian cities.

I can't stop watching this. You're taking me back, damn you, back to the city, 40 years in the rearview mirror now but right back inside my head after watching this. Rainy streets and alienation and rattling rides on subways reeking of urine to destinations at one of the less-frequented stops in search of certain hard kicks that only the city could serve up. Now I, a comfortably settled old man, am sitting here missing the city all over again. Damn, this is well done. Perfect.
Normally when I listen to some chilling music like this one right here and go on my daily bus ride to school / work / what ever, I get this funny moody feeling that I cant describe.

This is masterpiece. And i can't understand what a feelling this track evocks but i like it.
For such an industrial song, this track really works while wandering around wooded lanes in Cornwall.

You must listen to this song while your driving by train or car by night, so chilling. Mo`Wax was with Dj Shadow and Unkle one of my favourite labels. The songs of this artists remind me of my childhood.
And a beautiful journey to a city I miss it definitely was.
wow... i after 10 years i still can't say any other record touches this melodic symphony..i've listened to it over 20 times in a row(today that is) and i'm still in awe.. no other song of shadow's affects me like this... for some reason.

its beautiful what hip hop (or trip hop) can bring together when created, sound constantly picked apart and melded back together with similiar samples from genres that could be considered as complete polar opposites. Bringing tastes, and in turn; People Together.

You guys are right.....this video makes me miss not only home but the city itself and all that ever happened there.....the friends I made and the friends I buried, the people I loved and then lost, all on good terms but under sad circumstances, RIP to my true ones because they will never be replaced thats for damn sure. Thanks so much for the video, it brought back so many memories in a good way. I needed that after almost a decade of being so torn up about how cold the world can be.

I absolutely love DJ Shadow, especially this song. I have to say you have done a brilliant job with the video as well. Fairly simple, but goes perfectly with this song, some of the shots you have used are stunning.
Will be looking into doing another from "Endtroducing," but, this time, it'll be the other side of the US in Los Angeles.

Thank you so much for the comment. Quite an honor to get mentioned as a better video than the original. Tho, I think the original is more of a 90s style of Hip Hop video from the Bay Area. If anything, the video for Unkle's Rabbit In the Headlight makes up for Shadow.
