I kind of depends on the state you're in, a lot of states in the US do have caps on punitive damages, and corporations lobby the government to pass these sorts of laws.
That being said, I would suggest watching the plaintiffs' testimonies. These people faced waves of harassment for years every time someone on Info Wars mentioned Sandy Hook families. They didn't seem to be in it for the money, but instead to make infowars have to shut down to stop the harassment.

@@josephj7908 This case is more than getting your feelings hurt...
For him to try to appeal, he will have to put the money into an account OR get a bond for insurance for that amount. The insured bond will need to be provided with any appeal. Without a bond insuring he can pay the amount, then he won't even be able to file any appeal.
Further complicating any appeal is that Alex INTENTIONALLY defaulted on the trial portion, so any question of liability or the trial itself are off the table for Alex. They will be summarily dismissed.

Nah, he'll just find ways to prevent payment. Still not optimal for him though, it royally screws up his quality of life, business operations and credit-worthiness. He has to keep his assets squirrelled away...the minute he liquidates them, there'll be lawyers and collections people beating a path to his door to take it.
He won’t pay it. He knew this was coming and had his assets protected. Coward. He got what he deserved. Hopefully we’ll hear less from him in the future.
I want to see Alex Jones at the Taco Bell drive through window. He needs to be stripped of every last penny.
He can simply ask to see ONE photo of ONE “dead kid” so these “parents” can prove their invented losses and damages.
And you can simply keep dreaming that has anything to do with defamation.
In the outside processing footage, if you pause it just right, you can see a victim in room 10 near the window. I know it’s not what you want, but it’s what we have.
