    the views are spectacular! I feel like a helix before the brakes would make this ride feel more complete...I get there are short coasters but this just feels like it was ended very abruptly

    • @tchaffman
      @tchaffman 2 года назад +7

      Very abrupt, but I have to imagine the cost and engineering constraints on building in that location. Who's to say an extra helix here wouldn't cost a couple million dollars more?

    • @jonny-b4954
      @jonny-b4954 2 года назад +2

      For sure, it really should have had a downward left turning helix right after that roll instead of going into brakes. But, it's still fine. I can't imagine how much extra Gerstlauer charged them simply to build that coaster (pretty cheap model) that high up the mountain. Had to have doubled the cost and time.

    • @hskbrowneyes
      @hskbrowneyes 2 года назад +2

      @@tchaffman yes, of course who wouldn't want a longer a better layout...I am sure they had to pay an arm and a leg to built this...just a bit sad because it definitely has speed and energy to go through some more elements

    • @DJWezzyK
      @DJWezzyK 2 года назад +3

      Sometimes a safety regulator does not approve lapbars. Like in Europe TUV can say: This ride can and this ride cannot have lapbars. I think with the location of where this ride is, they might not have allowed lapbars? Just guessing. Hoping someone can tell me if i'm right.

    • @blazingaqua9127

      I think due to incident that happened at Glenwood Caverns, they probably chose to have over the shoulder restraints to let the guests feel more safe

    • @DJWezzyK
      @DJWezzyK 2 года назад

      @@blazingaqua9127 Could also be possible. But I know a European park that wanted lapbars. But then the province they ware in said NO to that. So they did not have a choice. And I know that one KMG afterburner wanted to have lapbars in The Netherlands and TUV said NO. While one with lapbars runs without incidents on Moreys Piers. This is why I was assuming this.

    • @CoastersRUs-us

      You do realize that someone died at this park last fall on a thrill ride that only had lap bars, right?

    • @DJWezzyK
      @DJWezzyK 2 года назад +3

      @@CoastersRUs-us I did some research into this and according to the investigation it was because the park operator lacked the right staff training to operate that particular ride. If they have instructed the staff in the way the manifacturer of the ride has created it's operating manual, this could have been prevented. Staff were trained to operate this ride with a instruction manual from 3 A4 papers big. While in Europe and some major themeparks in the U.S. , a staff training manual goes over 300 A4 pages. But that is the same with Orlando Freefall. The manifacturer has made the ride safe, the park operator decided to tweak certain things so that 'fat people' could ride, while the manifacturer clearly stated this should by all means be prevented and not be tempered with, it resulted also in one soul too many that lost it's life. Same with the Smiler at Alton Towers. The ride safety worked, the staff was not instructed well enough, they did not check if a car was indeed stalled on the track, send out a train with passengers in Maintenance mode to keep the ride operational, which you should never ever do... And kaboom... Tower of Terror only has a seatbelt in Disney Paris. No accidents have happend on that ride. Same restraint system as the droptower in this park. They should have instructed the staff better. But challenge my thoughts on this?

      I experienced a banana roll on TMNT Shellraiser. It's...unique. You whip through the element so fast sometimes you don't even realize what the element is. You're just going upside and rotating super fast.
      It definitely gave off some good G's, but not as good as a cobra roll or the even rarer butterfly element.

    What’s the point

    This looks like the biggest waste of potential I’ve seen for a ride. A great view, great drop and then it only has two elements before turning into the brakes. At least with something like Maxx Force there’s the excuse of space limitations. But this has a huge area behind it they could have built into more.

    Idk whether to call the restraints a shoulder harness or lap bar
