You and Oliver are so funny together. I love your quilt top. Oliver can't understand why you would be so interested in fabric when you have him for company.
LOVE Oliver! Wish you were available every day! Love your free spirit and look everyday for new videos. Will turn you on tv and let videos run one after the other as I see or work around the house. You are real…… Hod bless you and Oliver!
The Quilt turned out fantastic. Love your Pink Pumpkin Tee shirt too. Most of all that Oliver was the star of the show. He was determined to get your attention and succeeded....lol 😺
Oliver was particularly helpful today. I think he realized how much the FQ bundle complimented his fur. I absolutely LOVE this scrappy version of the Courage quilt from Fabric Cafe. Thank you for sharing this with us.
This video is one of my favorites. There was some lively cat hogging. Oliver is such a ham. You are the best cat mom. The fabrics are spooky, they are so clever. No wonder Oliver was helpful, he must love them too. Well, once again your choice of chocolate is spot on. Your quilt is so
LOVE this!! Love the scrappiness! Couldn’t find your improvisions! And poor Oliver-he obviously lacks attention 😂🐈 Another great idea. Thanks so much!!
This is a great video!!! love the pattern and that you made it from a FQ bundle instead of 3 yards, it's much more interesting. Great idea, video and enjoy some chocolate!!! Di
I love their 3 yard quilt patterns too. You can get so many different looks for the same pattern using different fabrics. Thank you for watching. April
A 3-yard quilt, what a great concept! I like your fabric selection! Your quilt turned out so fun! Thanks for sharing where to get the pattern and how to make this quilt using a fat quarter bundle!
April, I love your videos. You are very entertaining and that's what keeps me coming back. You are real. Love the chocolate at the end. I've downloaded "courage". Thanks a bunch.
Your kitty is adorable. Don’t they make sewing so much fun!!!! My dog used to help me when I would get down in my floor to pin those large projects. Love your scrappy quilt ❤️
I love your bloopers as much as the official video. Today I LOL at the face you made. Your videos inspire me and make me happy. We have a cat that looks exactly like Oliver (his name is Buttercup) and he weighs over 20lbs. He is the sweetest thing considering he was feral. We also have a tortoise female cat named Hissy Missy--we thought once fixed she might quit hissing and popping all the other cats that come here (Georgia has awful problem with feral cats) but she is still mean--hence Hissy Missy.
Hey April, I'm sure Oliver is a love and a very fine quilter's assistant. I've never thought to use my fat quarters. what a great idea. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love this quilt idea with fat quarters. You always inspire me with ways to change up patterns to make what you have work. I think i might do it with Christmas fat quarters
Thanks for another wonderful tutorial! I love watching your videos! I'm also very grateful for the link to the free pattern. I have lots of fat quarters and now I can refer back to this amazing tutorial 😀 Thanks from Blackpool UK 🇬🇧
So glad you did this scrappy. I've had the pattern for a while, but I never would have thought out of the box as you did. It looks great! Thanks so much and God bless.
So happy you used fat quarters cause I have a lot of fat quarters but don’t use them much cause I don’t want to figure out the quilt math. I am going to make one of these quilts soon. Love the scrappy look.. keep up the fun videos.
Love this. My cousin works for the Hershey museum in the chocolate lab. With sixth graders! Teaching them all about chocolate. Thanks soooo much for sharing.
This quilt came out so cute. That fabric is adorable! Oliver is a star! I could watch him all day! Just like my cat who lays around inactive all day until I start a project, then she’s all up in the middle of it!
Your quilt looks great!!!- I didn’t see any errors on your quilt. Gosh I have a craving for a Butterfinger!!!! You ate that Reeces cup and all I could think is Butterfinger!!!! The cat loves you sewwww much!! Thanks for another great tutorial!!!!
April I love this scrappy quilt! I am so glad you used FQ’s… I have been wondering how to use them in her quilts. And OLIVER, he is such a ROCK STAR 🌟 🐈🐈🐈🐈😻
Cute pattern, and I love the kitty Oliver helping you. My kitty named peanut butter, would help me the same way, I was always afraid at some point that I would wag his tail off with my rotary cutter. Never happened, and now he’s gone, and I’m missing him terribly.
I just recently found your website and I really been enjoying it you are very clear with your directions on how to do things and you're fun to watch and I thank you very much for teaching me some of these things cuz I was watching the three yard quilts pattern fabric Cafe and I was kind of scared to try it but now I'm not
Loved seeing Oliver. I was holding my breath though when you were cutting and he was swishing his tail. Great video. Liked how you used fat quarters instead of yardage. Often wondered how to calculate the amount needed.
I follow Donna with her 3 yard quilts and love her fabrics, but feel the patterns are a little too basic. Using fat quarters spices up the look just enough to make them really interesting! I love your thought patterns! Personally, I will make the borders one fabric each, but that's just how my mind works. Thank you for another great video!!
Thank you for making this pattern in seasonal fabric! It is often difficult for me to visualize projects, when I don't care for the fabric selection of the designer.
I love Fabric Cafe patterns. So glad you used the assorted fat quarters to show a variation. It is beautiful and ready for the fall or anytime a chocolate craving creeps in.
What a great idea!I never thought of using fat quarters like this in one of the 3 yard quilt patterns. I really loved watching your “helper” assist you! 😂
So true. A twin quilt top requires 2 yards of each of the three fabrics (focus, a light, and a dark). A queen/king requires 4 yards of each of the three fabrics. If you are using the fat quarter method, you can use April's method in the amounts needed.
Oh, if you use the Fabric Cafe pattern books, vs the patterns, Donna gives the cutting instructions and layouts for the lap top, twin and queen/king. How great!
Love the fabric you used! I could not find where you “improvised “, and usually I can spot it. This fabric is so busy, it covers up any “mistake”. Love that you used fat quarters in this to show a pattern can be altered and still work. I’m making a free pattern now that call for yardage and I’m also using fat quarters. Like you, I just have to remember to double the number of strips I need to cut. As always, enjoy your videos and your personality. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.
I really like this scrappy look. Was laughing at Oliver, my Oliver does the same thing. He will lay right in front of the sewing machine and won’t move
Again another great video to brighten my day !!!! Love your cat. Also you are a quick change artist, three different t-shirts. And your improvising very well done!!!!
Lol I’m like Reba at the awards show How many outfits can I wear Lol Just kidding -- sometimes I film in segments and it might be different days Thanks for watching April
Going to save this video so I can refer back to it when I need to use fat quarters instead of yardage. That's why I haven't done any 3 yard quilts yet because I only have room for a short box full of fat quarters
This quilt is fab-boo-lous! 👻💀🎃💀👻 The Halloween theme fabric is great for this pattern. Your co-host is doing an amazing job! 💗🐈💗🐈💗 Thank you for sharing. 😊🍁🍂🍃🍊
Hi April. I'm new to Kentucky and looking for quilt shop recommendations. Love your Kentucky t-shirt :-) We are in Central City. I don't know where you are but we've been traveling around the State to see what there is to see.
Welcome to Kentucky. I live in the Louisville area. Quilt and Sew at Golden Threads in Trenton may be near you. They are WONDERFUL. Also Country Lane Quilts which is an Amish shop has great prices on fabric and beautiful hand sewn quilts. Hope that helps. And of course there is Paducah. If you go there you have to go to Hancock Fabrics. Thank you for watching. April
I love that you are using the Celebrate Hershey line! I have a layer cake of this line and I'm using it now too!! Different pattern but it's just adorable!
I really like the middle part of your quilt. I have used a layer cake for a 3 yard quilt for the big squares in some of the patterns. It turned out great. I would have gone with a plainer border, but everyone likes different things.
@@aprilscraftroom I agree! After looking at the quilt,I would have used the white fabric for the first border, or a solid. It really would make the middle patchwork “pop”! Only change I would have made. Otherwise, love the quilt.
I just love your outros, lol. The quilt top turned out beautifully. I struggle so much trying to make one out of fat quarters. Do you have any suggestions? Would it depend on the pattern used? Definitely will get this pattern. Thanks for sharing. Eat some chocolate.
I think it’s a personal preference thing What I do is lay them out and see what works the best Sometimes I change something as I go but not a lot Hope this helps April

Beautiful quilt April! This is one of those patterns that would be super simple to make larger if you wanted a bed quilt.
Absolutely!!!

Thank you 😊 April
I really like the middle part of your quilt. I have used a layer cake for a 3 yard quilt for the big squares in some of the patterns. It turned out great. I would have gone with a plainer border, but everyone likes different things.
Absolutely
Changing the boarder to a plainer boarder would also make the inside pop
Thank you for the suggestion
