If you can have the top seam allowance going away from you and the bottom seam allowance pointing toward you, you may find more perfect matches. I’m not sure why this works for me but I’ve tested it a lot over the years and it really works for me!
Looks great. Thanks for going over how you figured out the amount of fabric to cut for the borders. For the HST quilt I just kept cutting border pieces, which is why I ended up with some many leftovers. Enough to make another quilt!
