I tried it on a pair of clear glasses and it turned them into sunglasses - It worked!! 👍🏻
I tried it on my eyes and now I can't see anything. - Sent from Google Voice Assistant
I am buying some spray tint right now! Let's see how this goes! Thanks!
howd it go? might try it
I've been a mechanic for 50 years. Back in the 80s when I worked for Volkswagen dealer we had a company that tinted new cars glass. Believe it or not it looked really good and was much faster the the film type.
they tinted ? do you mean they SPRAY tinted ? thats cool
Yes Spray On Tint And it Always Looked Awesome And Never Pealed Or Bubbled@@foff-666
Love from England bro love the budget stuff for people like us who don't have a lot off money 🤘🤙👊
Doing what I can. Maybe one day I’ll have money and a big shop but I love these budget things for sure
Cool proof of concept man, could see in my younger years I would try something like this lol. Any tint shop will do a bang up job for 200$ or so. Keep it up man love your content here and at Texas Honda!
Thank you 🙏🏻 and yes it’s just a test that I figured was worth testing for sure!
You are easily one of the best automotive diy-ers on RUclips, I find it hard to believe you don't have 100k subscribers yet! Amazing stuff
I think donut media tested this and im glad you tested it because they always seem to half-ass everything they try. Its like im watching drunk/stoners do car stuff on their channel. You do things seriously and put effort into it.
Oh really I never seen that on their channel interesting. Yea I remember the Dip your car one they did wrong on so many levels but to each their own I guess. I’m not perfect either but figured it was worth a test for sure
@@JamesDguy I honestly think mostbof their half assness is for entertainment value. It was on one of their episodes of cheap versus expensive car mods I think
I'm shocked how well that turned out, I'm not about to do it to my new car, but still. I've been curious about this for a while too, now I know it works...again I'm not about to do it, but still.
That’s how I feel about it honestly. Like wow it worked but eh not for me.
Wow, this was really surprising, I was actually thinking if this would have any effect and here you are with it
Ha yea I’m still dumbfounded on the results! Feel free to share it around!
@@JamesDguy sure
Cheap Nail polish remover worked with such ease it removed black tint window paint in my car with no effort at all no one in all the car mechanics on RUclips even suggest this simple solution
That was surprisingly fun and educational to watch.Looks really decent actually. Another great video.
I’ll do this on my camper shell
That’s the exact reason I looked this video up 😂
I find that cross pattern strokes leaves more imperfections in the surface. Obviously it’s a build up where there is more paint (tint spray) at the cross of the stroke, and less build up where there isn’t a cross stroke, if that makes any sense....
I'm shocked, definitely wouldn't do it to my ride but a great video overall and super fun to watch. Keep up the great work and thank you for your hard work and content. God bless bro 🙏
That actually works great lol. Especially if a lot of far back and multiple coats.
A normal pick up truck. A rare thing indeed
NOT A DUMB IDEA, I'VE DONE SEVERAL TIMES, WITH AMAZING RESULTS!!!!...GOTTA KNOW WHAT YOU DOING ...
Did you do it on the outside window or on the inside?
Outside and inside car window, change the spray can tip..!!!
@@CheddaSuaveis that the trick to change the tips every couple of coats? And can you still see the spray marks when done?
@@davidvaldez4904
I never changed any tips but there is no problem with changing the tips if you want to because it is actually a great idea
I'm thinking 160 to 180 °but to be completely honest I sprayed the back window the same way I spray my tail lights and my headlights p now I must admit before I finish this detail
I messed up at least 10 pair of headlights and tail lights from spraying tint
Too heavy
When you spray it you don't have to try to achieve the dark tint because when it dries it will dry so dark you can't even see your lights and people will be blowing their own at you
And the trick is to spray and then get a really really really really really really really fine grit of sandpaper and lightly go over and then clear coat it
I did everything on the outside
that is acceptable for a cheap way to tint my fiberglass cap windows. Not a bad video!
I just bought a similar product for that windshield space behind my rearview mirror and between my visors.
When I get this tinted, they call that the brow
Stuff definitely looks like it's beyond legal. I'm so interested in it though XD
yeah never done it out of cans but done plenty of times out of 20% black paint and 80% thinners just to tint
You're on fire posting alot
Trying to get more out since I have been lacking on content ever since being told I can’t paint in my own garage. I’m doing “small” projects like they said I could. I don’t want evicted and fined $2,000 from the city so doing what I can.
@@JamesDguy Phew no, we dont want that, i wonder what the future holds for you..
@@harrycorrea2547 Just keep moving forward and putting my faith in god that it will all work out. All things work together for good.
You just started a new trend lol
Not to shabby for $8
If it works it works haha 😂 so many window tint guys are gonna hate me now lol 😂
Man you just save me $200 screw all that right way shit the right way is the cheap way
Tbh it looks amazing from the outside,
😂😂😂 I'm about to do it on my soft top vert glass
Good video as always. I seem to vaguely recall someone doing this but lightly buffing the vht to even it out. Good for a cheap tint job though.
That’s actually a good idea to be honest! Awesome glad I’m not the only crazy one out here doing stuff lol
I’m gonna do it to my mustang today and post the results cause tint now is high 150 200 for tent
I have a cat carrier with curved ?? plexi-plastic backpack face that I want to tint to keep him cooler, keep the sun off him and make him a little less visible. Ive been looking for a solution like this. Tomorrow Im going shopping 😁
My car cost me £300 its no banger but I am more willing to spray my windows then buying Tint wrap or paying someone to do it lol. I might get a grey maybe incase black is to dark
I imagine doing a light polish would do some good
I have an extra bottle of nightshade in my closet. 🤔 thanks for the idea
Ha no problem just testing ideas out lol
How did it go?
@Billy Gibbs really well actually, I ended up selling the head & tail lights I used them on. If you take your time with everything no reason the product shouldn't come out looking great. 👌
@@NAVYVETBASSKING did you do the windows aswell? Thank you for the reply
@Billy Gibbs no problem at all. I used water and baby shampoo "works the best"
My brother tried to do this with his first car about 20 years ago haha it came out terrible. But that's before youtube was even around
That’s how you learn though. I have screwed so much up while learning and I’m still learning and I’m 31yrs old lol i won’t stop learning either. Always something new to learn.
@@JamesDguy same here, I've gotten 1000x better at painting since I was younger. Practice shows you what you're doing wrong and how to correct it, you're your worst critic, and I'm close to a perfectionist so things can get frustrating sometimes lol
@@timborice22 Yea trust me im the same way but some days I’m like whatever it’s better than it was lol 😂
@@JamesDguy my brother had a Tercel, and the streaks from the tint... oh man...definitely not meant to spray in the car on a hot day haha
@@timborice22 oh yea hot day is no good for painting anything lol 😂
I will try that on my white ranger as well see how it goes... but not as dark
How did it go
wow what that? I don't know that either? depends on how long this lasts
What about slightly buffing it ?
If I like it I might do a setup on a small truck for fun
how does it look a year later? wondering how it holds up after a lot of sun
The right way to tint your windows is to actually get glass that is tinted from the factory
Looks good asf
Nice job ! I think it looks pretty good myself . Question is does it come off easy if you get a ticket with too dark of a tint ?
Can't afford a tint job it don't look bad. Definitely make a hatch cooler we all know they are rolling greenhouses lol
True that!
Great explained
not a fan of vht. i used vht high heat primer paint and clear on my valve cover. all 3 layers cracked immediately after i put it on the car. im not sure if it was the heat or if it was the pressure of tightening it on that cracked it. but i had the cover off for more than a month, maybe 2 months while i was rebuilding the cylinder head so i'm sure it was cured. after i got the old paint off, i scrubbed the hell out of it with high pressure water, degreaser and alcohol. i let it air dry for more than a day before i painted it. i following the timing instructions on the can. i had an issue in the past where i thought maybe i didn't mix it long enough so i shook those stupid cans for a really long time before i used them. it was a very warm day outside, im sure the paint and cover weren't cold. So I just don't trust the stuff. I couldn't have been more careful. i'm going with krylon/rustoleum next time.
Yeah I’m a huge rustoleum guy but nightshade works pretty decent
Damn didnt know my idea was stupid😢
cant tell if its just the video quality or if im trippin still.
Back in my day they had a spray on window tint
I get full tint kits in ebay for like 25 bux. 5 percent too.
I want to tint my garage windows so people can’t look inside and see if the cars are there. How much of the can was leftover?
Nice it does work
Wonder if you can do clear vinyl Jeep windows with this
Probably but removing with acetone if you didn’t like it probably wouldn’t be a option or a good option at least. Not really sure on that.
Cool video. Thanks
No problem 😉
Poppin out the gainz bro
Thanks 🙏🏻 been lifting regularly again and honestly missed it.
I'm going to try tint the clear window on my 20 Rd drum for my semi auto shotty. It's really hard to find the factory one that comes tinted basically all the ones online have clear windows so other people can see how much ammo is left and I don't like that. I also don't want to paint it normally cuz it'll look too shiny or too matte black like it's ghetto rigged or homemade. This should work perfect for my application tho.
Im going to try this on the upper 6" of my Poly sxs windshield. Might make a great sunshade when riding with the sun in the face.
Did it come out okay?
I want to use this on my home windows
I was thinking the same thing. Did you do it? If so, how’d it turn out?
Nice man I’ve always wondered 😂😂
So, since it’s rated for outdoor use (tail lights), couldn’t you do it on the outside for a quick job, that could be removed quickly with acetone?
Yes with acetone comes right off I just did it inside so it looks better on the outside. Just a test anyways
@@JamesDguy I’ve thought about doing this when I need darker tint. Easier masking and easier removal.
@@safeguardinvestigationsand1108 yes true just gotta get the even coating
Does it hold up to rolling the window down???
Hey.. not really, mine was ok for a week or so, after that it become so scratched… hope this helps
Honestly could be an option lol
Could be. Idk that I would but to each their own for sure.
Tried this before on a camaro, still holding up.
Awesome stuff! Glad to hear!
Nothing new. I was doing this in the 80s with spray paint and thinner.
I did more than half the neighborhood
Did it look good?
@@JustAlex1994 you can’t see through spray paint
I’m doing this on my house
Problem I would see is that unlike regular tint you won't be able to see out very well.
You can see out perfectly fine I tested it even on camera. It’s hard to see on camera since I only have 2 arms and can’t hold the camera and window and show but during the day time for sure you can see: either way it was just a test lol 😂
@@JamesDguy yea I kept hearing you say you wouldn't do this but that someone could if they wanted
Bouta do this to my motorcycle helmet visor
Did you do it, I'm tempted as well

Seems like this is an option for motorcycle windscreens; you can't film tint them because they're plastic. Would this work on plastic?
Yeah it would. Taillights are plastic and that’s what it’s intended for
u can also use tinted vinyl wrap
Do you think that spray tint would work on Plexiglass ?
Did you ever try I’m wondering the same thing?
@@landonvanree463 I did not. If you do, let me know the results , please. I don't see why it wouldn't work tho

I need to do my kitchen window the morning sun is brutal and tint film does not stay on
I have the same issue with a fake attic window. Its hard to access and the inside film is peeling from the brutal daytime sun and heat. I was wondering if I could just spray paint it from the outside for asthetic look. Seeing the film peeling from the outside view doesn't look good.
Cool idea to try. 👍
Try Krylon yellow stained glass spray next!
Def works if u want yellow jdm headlight look
Do you think this would work on front windscreen too? Could yo see out enough?
No very bad idea
How do you remove it though?
ikr
Brake cleaner, acetone, or a razor
You can scrape it off to
I wanna do this but in my country 100% tint is not allowed
In my country and state of texas 25% tint up front is legal and the rear can be 2% which is REALLY DARK but these windows I painted are probably around 20% tint if I was to guess not 100% tinted dark
@@JamesDguy Hmm ok coz it looked like complete tint
@@nbk-2394 I’m still not sure what complete tint means. You mean 100% not see through? It is definitely see through still but not near as good as real tint
@@JamesDguy yep that is what I meant
@@JamesDguy btw vht tint is not available in my country only rusto's tint is available. But read some reviews that say it's not good. So a bit hesitant.
Is that glass| plexiglass?/

Hi
I have bought spray cans from eBay and wanted to try my car windows to get tinted but when I sprayed it 3 times on the rear small window from inside the car and looked horrible from inside and I couldn't see outside through that window the I cleaned it off and complained to the seller but he didn't believe me even I sent them the window photos.
So please don't waste your money on these crap sprays.
Lmao because it's literally not designed for windows 🤦
But do you recommend it?
at the end he says he'd recommend getting it professionally done as opposed to the spray
Did you find out if he recommends it??
@@doubleuutm9955 - not yet...
HAHAHAHAAH his first pass was awful ! ! Lmao. Man doesn't know how to spray for sure lol
How stupid…..
Paying to tint windows more expensive I'll go with the spray paint.
Doesn’t look anything like that
