    Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners' real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. I contact each person who sends me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up on what happened after what we see on their video. Voice-over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
    From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

    • @calyodelphi124
      @calyodelphi124 5 месяцев назад +42

      I doubt that Rena would be able to sue for the cap of a policy that was changed _ex post facto._ But I'm sure Rena could still have a field day suing the trucker's company, regardless.

    • @dean68w19
      @dean68w19 5 месяцев назад +16

      Your BI coverage only covers other people when you're at fault for an accident, you can't make a claim for yourself on it. Rena would have to file a claim using her Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage, but that would only take effect if the truck that hit her was uninsured or had low limits on their policy. As long as it's insured with the proper coverages, the trucks insurance company is the only place she can seek damages from. Also, the coverages you have in effect at the time of the accident are locked in, you can't change coverages post-accident and have them apply.

      I personally know two people who’s non Tesla’s autos both got destroyed by Semi’s. Thank goodness there was very little medical involved after a month. Both companies settled within two months …. One with insurance paying and one paid out by the company themselves. Both settlements were just at and over 100k. Better yet… neither used attorneys. I’d call that a win-win-win 👍

      As a retired insurance agent, whatever coverage you had at the time of the accident, is what applies. Any changes on the policy, would apply to the next accident. Bodily Injury, BI, only covers the other party, never yourself, if you caused an accident.

    11:00 Not sure why people think of yellow light as "You still have a chance, go for it!". The whole purpose of there being a yellow before red is to give you enough time to stop. In the US they seem to have this crazy rule that if you can get the front bumper just 1 inch across the line before the light turning red, you have the right of way.
      Here, we employ the more sensible "If you are able to safely stop, you must do so" coupled with "If you do not stop at the yellow light if you could have, it is considered running a red light".
      That being said, a lot of people in "my" country is under the impression that the US rules apply and they will hit the accelerator rather than the brake.

    You'd think the cops could do something about identifying the water bottle throwers. Looks like the first letter is a "C" and the last three digits are "417" or "457." Knowing the make, model and color, they could easily run a search on the vehicle with just a few numbers. Looks like it had a distinctive dark band across the hood as well. I can tell you what it is , a Custom Eight Packard. I walked past a 1950 23rd series Custom almost every morning in the garage and had a few 1950 Deluxe which I drove for years. These are almost identical to the 22nd series cars, but tail lights and a couple other things are different. These cars had nothing to do with the pre-war/pre-clipper era cars, there were no shared frames or anything other than the names used. She doesn’t have the obligation to move past the truck. The truck has to check for any vehicles before merging, that’s why they get certified for these types of things. Furthermore the truck driver merged into her lane and hit her multiple times. The truck driver clearly knew he has hit something as he moved back into the middle lane for a second before hitting her yet again. Concerning Kline in #3, he should have stopped and not tried to beat the yellow light. There was plenty of room to stop when it turned yellow. We've seen so many accidents occur when one or two drivers are trying to beat the yellow light - maybe one going straight and the other waiting to turn left. It's much better to stop and wait for the light than to risk an accident.

    • @Cheepchipsable
      @Cheepchipsable 5 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, he should have stopped for the light, but any accident would have been the turning cars fault.
      Seems a feeble excuse that his insurance might go up - that would only happen if he made a habit of driving recklessly - and I would think trying to beat yellow light would be way more reckless than braking sharply.

    4:58. Those extra bright brake light bulbs are really infuriating. There's nothing more annoying than being for real blinded by too bright brake lights. You have to either shut your eyes (meaning: you'll miss the traffic light changing and everyone honks at you because of that) or you have to put a hand in front of your eyes and try to somehow see the traffic light. On top of that, those brake lights will always blind the one driving behind you whenever your brake lights come on.
    There is a clear reason why brake light brightness is regulated in so many places of the world. Too bright lights are a safety hazard.
