Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners' real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. I contact each person who sends me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up on what happened after what we see on their video. Voice-over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

@ars Well lets just say i would have been on my brakes as the dude was pulling out. Anthony is 100% in my mind at fault for that. Yes the dude pulled out but there was more than enough time to apply the brakes He also wasn't in the passing lane until he rear ended him. But since the driver ahead did what he did. It faulted to him. In other words if he remained in the first lane Anthony probably would have been held liable for NOT braking. This is a clear failure to avoid in my mind and opinion. not what they state and what the law gave.

Other driver at fault, but this could have been avoided. Anthony also seems to be one of those people that don't brake when they see somebody pulling out like that. People like that are planning on doing a fly-by, in some casing even accelerating, to show their displeasure with the other driver. I think if Anthony jumped on the brakes at :13, he could have avoiding hitting the van. That being said, the van did cut him off and then proceeded to block both lanes, so Anthony's fly by was foiled.

    • @j2w1_lub

yes, but if you always wait for oncoming traffic to have red, then you will be making the turn when the cross traffic has the green, as traffic in the intersection should clear, and all drivers going straight should stop on a yellow. so 50/50 seems fair here.

Just two nights ago I took immediate evasive action like Eric did. I was driving like 50 mph on a dimly lit road when suddenly road debris appeared in front of the left side of my car. I didn’t see it earlier because it was dark grey and blended in with the road, and it was also hidden by the darkness.
It took a second to realize it was just an empty plastic grocery bag that had drifted onto the road, but as I had that conscious thought, my brain had already subconsciously sent the signal to my hands to instinctively jerk the steering wheel to the right to avoid hitting it.
It was pretty neat, though worrisome, to see the reaction time between the two different crossed brain signals. It was literally like:
      1) consciously recognize road hazard
      2) subconsciously send message to take evasive action
      3) consciously recognize it’s a harmless bag
      4) subconsciously jerk steering wheel
      5) consciously wonder why in the heck I jerked the steering wheel
      6) consciously realize how fortunate I was not to lose control
      7) consciously realize my brain instinctively reacted by sending a subconscious message to take evasive action and it was too late to stop it once I consciously realized it wasn’t a danger
      8) take a deep breath and think about how cool instinctive reactions are, but scary because I wasn’t consciously in control of my actions

The First one I would say the Dodge is at fault because he failed to enter a lane and at the very least he went into the far lane and then changed into the near lane with no signal which would make it an illegal lane change, however I'm not sure if the video is sped up or not but the Tesla seems to be going a little fast, so if he was speeding then insurance might rule it a 50/50 accident or something like that. My bet however is its the dodge's fault for not sticking with one lane. 7:55 - #6 the car turning left is at fault, so I think that officer needs to go back and take a few classes as you never turn left into oncoming traffic they did not have a green turn arrow it was green light and ya have to yield to oncoming traffic, so the car turning left is at fault even if they both had a yellow. Yellow also does not mean stop it just means caution, prepare to stop because the light will be turning red.

0:58 Haresh PLEASE never think again that turning off the road and pulling off to a safe place is hit and run.
    1. For accidents, you are supposed to move your vechiles OUT of the travel lanes.
    2. You wouldn't stop in an active lane of the freeway if you had a crash there would you?
But then after they left the parking lot yeah now it's a hit and run

Does Anthony not know how to use a horn? I have been the exact same situation a ton of times and a quick little honk prevented it ever getting iffy.

One of the main factors for accidents is speed, and many Tesla drivers tend to love their cars performance. That will lead to a higher risk of accidents happening, and we can see this clearly in some of the Teslacam videos presented here. Slow down and drive safe. Speeding is for juvenile speed demons and on a race track, not for normal street use and family men who takes responsability for their actions. Even if your car can beat everyone else, you don't have a special permit to drive like a maniac.
