    *Important Safety Note*
Safety is my number 1 priority and concern while operating Tesla's FSD Beta software and at no point have I, nor will I subject customers to unnecessary risk. I am in full control, take over regularly, and I am extremely vigilant and cautious at all times. Furthermore, I do not subject anyone to Self Driving features that are uncomfortable or request me not to use it.
-Tesla's FSD system is classified as a level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). It is not fully autonomous and I remain in control at all times. There is nothing illegal or concerning about my operation of FSD on Rideshare Drives.
-I am legally protected to record inside my own personal vehicle while on the job and do attain consent for individuals fully featured in my videos. The rest are blurred out with identifiers censored or cut from the videos entirely.

    😎🤙
So I (my wife) finally got a Tesla. We got a MY-LR-AWD Blue with FSD.
I got to take my first FSD ride a couple of nights ago, and it was awesome. I am in a more rural area, and it did great. I took over one time due to it wanting to be off the shoulder on a slow, windy old road, but to be fair, the road isn't much better than the dirt, lol.
I won't really be driving it much, but my wife likes the idea and has been using it. We are in our early 40s, so new tech is easily adopted in our house, and she knows that I have been watching you guys document the progress.
There was a time that I probably wouldn't have even had her try it just so she wasn't turned away. With your and Dirty Teslas' recent videos, I told her it's close enough. I think she can handle it, and so far, so good.
She even got to see the kind of silly mistakes it makes on the test drive. It got stuck in a right turn only lane due to non existant signage and a road slope that ocluded the ground markings. She commented, 'I did the same thing the first time I came here'. I let her know that is the perfect time to take over and use your knowledge to make the correct choice then to use the voice report. It's 'Supervised' still, so stopping it is how to help. I told her like you and Chris say about actually daily using it, take over when you should, and do things it can't for it.
Anyhow, I will be here following along with the progress from you guys. I dont foresee long FSD conversations happening with my wife.
    😂🤙

Thank you for taking the time to share this! That's so exciting! I think she'll be great and quickly bond with her Tesla. It does tend to feel like a being your helping over time as you get used to it. All I advise is like you did, take over anytime you feel the need and practice patience with it like you would a new driver. Its normal to get frustrated, but I think thanks to you she's going into it with a good understanding of its limitations and capabilities. That is too cool. I'm stoked to have played a part in making this a more confident or comfortable thing to experience!

@@CYBRLFT For sure, if it wasn't for your real-world tests, I would have had to do my own first. I only watch You and Chris (DirtyTesla) and maybe an occasional SpicyTech. I think that watching and hearing how you present FSD to riders helped me present it the most. Being able to fluently explain how it works and how to do things like blocking oversteer as you showed in this video are awesome. I think that my wife watching Mrs @DirtyTesla was the biggest boost to her confidence.
I always tune in to you for the raw city driving with lots of weird edge cases and traffic. 'The Loop', The Shuffle', and all the other adventures like 'What if you just turn it on' are great. I like Chris for his rural and countryside driving mostly, but his city drives are fun too. I live in a small town outside Fresno, CA, so I have small town easy going driving, along with rual roads and countryside, but also frequently dense city driving and parking lot freeways.

I'm consciously a late-majority or laggard as well let the others pay premium for being testers and I always look for the workhorse model not too much bells & whistles and designed to do what it does with some longevity. I do look for some early adoption things as on occasion a company will put out something that only gets downgraded in subsequent models as production to scale cost is a bit much with the quality of components used in early models. Just got back from 2800 mile trip in our MS on 12.3.6 FSD (Supervised). Did ok for the most part but had issues in not reading speed control signs on the highway and driving as much as 15 miles over the speed limit which caused disengagements to prevent tickets from law enforcement. A Tesla issue we found very annoying was wind shield wiper performance, which was scary bad driving in a snowstorm in Idaho, with snow coming down so fast the windshield wipers could not keep up, and during rain events not keeping up with the rain making visibility difficult. Tesla needs to fix this annoying problem. FSD performed very well in local driving. Very much looking forward to getting OTA for 12.4. Serious progress is being made and Tesla absolutely in the lead in solving this. Also too much heavy breaking instead of using regenerative breaking. I would love to see the acceleration backing off when brake lights are detected instead of continued acceleration with heavy braking.

While navigating through the parking lot the FSD icon looked crooked to the left. Coming out of the parking lot onto the Main Street I had to make a very sharp turn. I just found your channel and was quite pleased at your level of professionalism throughout your video. Thank you for getting the word out. Someday I hope Tesla will reward you and others like you with a gift of some sort as these videos definitely add to Tesla's bottom line and helps our world to try and not become an uninhabited sphere due to global warming coupled with extreme pollution. Good job!

    That's so cool!
That autopilot control function he talked about for emergency landings is kinda cool, too.
You can do this all kinda manual if the pilot is incapacitated, but it's a lot of knowledge and button pressing and switch usage involved to pull that off, so you would have to be talked through all of that as a passenger by ATC. Plus the stress level of the situation is quite hefty.
Talking about commercial airlines here, not small general aviation planes.

I'm a private pilot. In a lot of ways, automating an aircrafts flight is a lot simpler than a car. Up in the air there's not as much stuff nearby to hit. There aren't pedestrians or animals or trees near the road or curbs or road signs... on and on. The environment for a car is far more complex. OTOH, the regulations an aircraft has to deal with are a lot more intense than a car. The actual flying of the airplane might seem a big deal, but it's much easier to automate than detecting and avoiding Fido when it breaks its owners leash and runs into the road.

nice demo of FSD capabilities. I have the free FSD trial and like it. But, still not sure if I will buy it. However, I seem to be having issues with my GPS, regardless of whether FSD is operating. So that may be causing some of the issue.

Love to hear about how you disengage FSD. You are going to find it weird at first, with your new car, as there is no stock to press up. You click the right scroll wheel button to engage or disengage. The rest is the same. In the first week, I can't tell you how many times I reached for the stocks. Now it is the other way, when I jump in my old Tesla with stocks, I have to think about how to engage/disengage with stocks LOL. Know you're gonna love the new 2024 Tesla.

I actually just had a thought about the taxi automation idea you mentioned. Since Elon Musk showed us the auto-charger that can plug into the car by itself, if the taxi is fully automated, it could return to a "depot" or designated location, automatically charge the car, and then pick up passengers and repeat the process.

    • @CYBRLFT
      @CYBRLFT  3 месяца назад +1

Yup! I imagine this will be something in the future. In the interim you could pay a valet to plug in cars and maybe wipe them down and give them a quick inspection before they go back out on the road.
