Just reading this get tears in my eyes. So much nostalgia playing this in 2011 when I was in Kindergarten, 11 years after my dad preordered his PS2. I may have been very late to the party, but I was never tainted by newer consoles at the time. Up until we got our grandparent's Wii.
Honestly, I think that GT3 has the best videogame soundtrack ever created, and yet it is so underrated. The use of jazz fusion as music for a racing simulator is just so blissful. This truly is _The Real Driving Simulator._
I never played that Gran Turismo unfortunately, but I know that it is the most sold game in the franchise and it was really ahead of its time for 2001.
I only played Gran Turismo 5 when I was 9 ( November 2010 ) for a long time, GT6, GT Sport and GT4 back in 2006. Gran Turismo is easily my favourite video game franchise.
All GT and most Japanese racing games always had jazzy soundtracks. Nothing surreal about it. But PD changed the music for PAL and NTSC versions surely because they thought non-Japanese wouldn't get down to this kind of music. To be honest the fact that they replaced the glorious soundtrack and the iconic Moon Over the Castle for generic rock or electro tells a lot about how they perceive our culture.
Legendary music for a legendary game! I still do fire up my good old PS2 for some GT3 game as I do not have the heart to just let the game sit there and collect dust, + too few good splitscreen games today
@@Baguenaudeur Honestly, while moon over the castle is the anthem of Gran Turismo, using other songs was honestly the best thing they ever did for the European and American markets. It made each GT quite different from each other with each installment. Not to mention you can immediately tell what game the intro came from the second you hear it.
This game had such a presence in my childhood, I kinda dissociate it from all the experiences I experienced. And every time I think back to my childhood, the first thing that comes to mind is driving the lister stom on trial mountain.
Which Criminal Dislicked this Masterpiece!?! These guys really need to be cuffed and jailed.... It soudns so good that i hear while i play other games.... Love it!

My dad had this game for SO many years?
How he managed to sneak by this absolute banger from my ears is beyond me.
Your dad must've never bought a car somehow.
@@cessnafun5385 Honestly, it's more likely he just brought them all already cuz I'm pretty sure he 100%ed this one.
this one doesn't exist in the game. there's one extremely similar (its literally the same just a little less jazzy) its in dealership

In Europe too... I think the Saxophone is a really nice detail!

Nah, if the Japanese have taught me one thing, it's that jazz and race cars go together like milk and cookies.👌
Just because the Japanese make boppin music doesn’t mean it has to be associated with sonic or mario kart haha
