I think I was around 5 when I first played GT3. Only came to this video because I heard this song playing in the outro of a video and I knew I'd heard it before and it sounded just like Gran Turismo, and I knew it was GT3 for some reason. Crazy to think that after all those years it can still spring to mind.

They did such an amazing job on this soundtrack, notably here where they capture that feeling of digging through cars, stats, comparing the way they look etc. The music has a feeling of discovery in a way, and going down rabbit holes. So good.
I specifically remember one of the first experiences I had in this game going to the dealer and looking at the TVR, I had no idea what those cars were at the time and always looked so unique.
The bassline alone in this track is so impressive that it makes all the other amazing composition going on in the track just seem like icing on the cake.
This music makes me sad, it reminds me that I'll never be as happy as I was when first playing this back in the early 2000's. I'm only 23, but I can't help but feel that my time on earth is already done

Remember, these were days before widespread internet for all, and I'm pretty sure a lot of us heard about the Gillet Vertigo, the gazillion kei cars, the JGTC or the Suzuki Escudo for the first time through that game !

We can all agree that the Toyota GTOne, Mazda 787B and the Nissan R390 GT1 are the holy trinity. And the suzuki escudo pikes peak, is a demon on wheels The first time you saw these car in shop or a review race you were like "damn thats fast, i want one" as if its your goal but your 3-7 year old self couldnt get them whether not knowing how to get them or you were to slow. I myself ever since stop playing this could never gotten these cars *sad face* This game alone is what got me into Racing (sim racing in particular) EDIT: i also found out about the secert F1 cars in the game which made me really sad because i was really into f1 at the time and still am

isrv In GT5, cars were locked behind a level limit. If you weren’t, let’s say, level 7, you couldn’t buy a car that required level 7. It went up to like level 20 or something. It was stupid, and just locked you off from getting certain cars unless you did enough races. GT6 didn’t have a used car dealership. In fact, you had to start out with a Honda Fit iirc. You could, however, buy any car you wanted after that. GT Sport is... GT Sport.

When i was 4, I would go through the dealership endlessly wondering why I couldnt afford a single car. For years i was sad i couldnt buy anything. Years later I realized someone bought a car on the memory card and sold it, leaving me without enough money to buy anything and a need to reset the entire game save. sad days but ill never forget this song

What memories this game brings back to me, I remember buying the PS2 Fat console and playing and since I didn't know about the memory card, I had to leave the console on for 3 days so that I wouldn't lose the progress of the game.
