Wish the right top of screen wasn’t covered, makes it really hard to follow along as well as video cutting to other segments without describing how they got there
Reallly looking for videos going from point cloud to mesh. This is by far the most useful reason to work with point clouds in the first place, and is ironically the least documented process 😂
Very good tutorial ! Would be great if your shortcut pressed would show on the video + make the camera smaller to be able to see more, I am not very familiar with blender and I had a hard time to guess how to change my render properties and use the viewport shading, otherwise thank you very much !
Awesome! Yeah I've seen that point clouds are used a lot in the construction/surveying industry. Might have to find a few folks who work with those big lidar cameras 😎
Great tut! Based on that, Do you think is possibe to draw a curve on some surface and each line get the color from this surface texture below? Any tips on how to do that?
Massimo, these type of trippy VR videos are so unique and amazing! But I can't find them your channel here. Are you still working on uploading them here? I got discovered you on Instagram but watching videos there is the worst experience... I hope to see more of these man... Such amazing work! 🤯💯💫🙏🏼
Im on Cycles, and when I go to render view I see darkness with an outline.. in the shading (color attribute) is hooked up.. everything seems correct. but I can't get the colors onto mesh to points!!!!
When i import my poly, it has like 7 different materials and 7 different photos for the color, any suggestion on what I might be doing wrong? I exported as gtlf and imported at .glb. Not sure if its because i have the free account for polycam
very useful tutorial and very interesting art by yourself! when i try it though i dont see spheres at all, and on top of that, when i click anywhere in the viewport, the entire cloud mesh disappears
best tut out there on point clouds, if you ever start a Patreon or Donation whatever, let me know. That you share this info for free should be rewarded.
any idea why my color data gets all turned the same? I cant seem to get different colors for different points and looking in the spreadsheet for the points it shows every point has the same color data.
Hi, do you have issues with compelx scenes with these geometry nodes in blender? I am having CUDA issues when rendering this in 4k and can't explain why.
You might be running out of VRAM. Try finding ways to lower your usage. Might need lower texture resolutions, lower resolution, tile size or a mix of all
I'm in cycles, followed each step I'm sure of it--it's still grey :( I'm only using one scan from scaniverse, and its a gltf. What file format did you use? @Massimo Vendola
nm I figured it out - I was naming my attribute in shader "color" changed them both to "col" and it strangely started working in cycles - must be something in cycles with the full attribute "color" that's assigned to something else
Hi, i can not get the mesh to showup. I use Blender 3.6. Anyone that can send me the blender file to see if I mest up any steps? I can subscribe to your Patrone if you give me the file. thanks
@@dusty_wings I did look into that. Its already enabled. It would have been helpful if this tutorial showed the whole screen so we could see some settings on the right side.
Only works in Cycles unfortunately. With Eevee you’re going to have to instance the points with physical geometry, which makes the scene heavier to process
One of the most comprehensive tutorials on Point Cloud I ever come across! Love it!
Amazing tutorial !!! congrats, very clear and so interesing ! Part 2 Please!!! You rock!!
🤩 thank YOU for sharing this information! Please make a part 2 🎉

@massimo vendola
Part 2 Please!!! You rock!! 🔥
switched to cycles rending and it worked flawlessly. this tutorial also opened my eyes to many possibilities in the 3d realm, thank you🙏🏼🙏🏼
Very nice. Please make a part 2.
Thanks for sharing!! Please part 2!!

Amazing content, Thanks for posting this video!
That's so cool!!!!!Perfect tutorial dude,It has greatly helped me! Thanks!

It's crazy how people are taking the best of Geometry Nodes as this video, amazing work!
good bless you bro!
You're amazing, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much!!!!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Really amazing. Kind of fast for someone who doesn’t know about nodes. But enough for the to research more. Thanks part 2 please 👍
Perfect tutorial dude, nice job! Magnificant effects and all this setup, amazing!)

I had the same issue. Great tutorial but couldn't figure this out. Does anyone know how to enter render view?
@@joshraab6469 Press Z and click rendered
This is really cool man! Believe it or not, it may come in to play at my job (surveying company). Great use of practical and creative tools!

this is great! thanks for sharing!
THX! That was brilliant
Wow this was a really well explained lesson - thanks! Awesome work - it the first time I’ve seen it!
Good stuff! Would love to learn more in a second part!

Thank you Good Sir!!!
anyone having the problem that when you go into rendered veiw nothing appears even once all the nodes are complete?
Same problem
Try changing the render engine to cycles instead of evee
@@Jaschasuess thank u!
yeah, same. under textured viewport nothing shows up the same in eevee, in cycles points appear but they are all black

Here from tiktok❤️🔥🔥🔥
Please make a part 2.🔥🔥🔥
Part 2 please
Can you please make a part 2
I used to do this effect in Agisoft Metashape, but my free trial ended :( now I can do it for free thank u somuch
Thanks for the clear tutorial. But I wanna know that, How can I convert the sphere shapes to cube?
Interesting, thanks
Hi, do u have idea how to export it into Unreal Engine 5?
Video is so awesome and i wanted to try add motion capture to path made from scanned mesh.
can you help me please? why i cant see the points when i make render ?
Thanks for this tutorial is very helpful but how do I animate this though?
Please make a part 2 (showing the dissolve effect)
hey could you give an update on how to work around the missing StoreNamedAttribute node?:)
very useful tutorial and very interesting art by yourself! when i try it though i dont see spheres at all, and on top of that, when i click anywhere in the viewport, the entire cloud mesh disappears
are you in cycles?
is there a way of turning it into a mesh?
where is the final result from this particular output

me too. did you managed to solve it
Do you have find the solution for it ?
how do you bake in the vertex color information so that when i export into unreal via fbx it recognizes it? currently it's all just white in unreal.
Is there already a part 2????????
Where is part 2 ? would love a tutorial on the last bit that you didn't touch on
when I am using the set Material node, it already does not work. In the rendered view it doesn´t show my any texture... I don´t understand why.
I know you said that this only works when you have one shader but is there a way to merge two shaders into one? Sorry for potentially dumb question.
I using U4. now i try something new 😊
for some reason the W in my noise texture node doesn't make my object animate over time. Is there a way to fix this?
Awesome work! thanks for sharing!! I would love a v2 please!
#frame/30 didn't work for me, it doen't change over frames :(
Already solved, you have to delete the driver and create it again while in the 0 frame
I did everything but the color won't show on the object :( I think cuz Im using a OBJ file. Any way to make it work with an OBJ file?
When i change the noise texture to 4D and change my W it doesnt change anything with me
Cool! But what if I need to use not texture but color attribute I exported with alembic?
the W in my noise texture doesnt work, the model doesnt change over time. How do I fix it
you can put in a new group input just for the w then it worked for me (or write the expression directly inte the w of noise texture)
Hmm the point cloud I got from Luma, is five different materials/colors, how do I combine them?
for Godsake make a part 2
1:24 bake the textures to one file :)
Ey! could you tell me pls what to do if my pointlcoud has more that 1 texture? how do i arrenge the node tree
..and Yes, ive just subscribed )
Hi there! How to make points smaller? Thanks :)
With the set point radius node. Hope that helps
how do you ge the white background?
Was wondering, would this technique still work if you had a .PLY file?
Does anybody know if ist possible to Import this Animation into Unity for a VR project?

NODE MESH TO POINST IS AVIABLE FOR BLENDER 2.9? OR THERE IS ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE IT?

me too. did you managed to solve it
when I import gltf file into Blender point cloud doesn't work. Should I only import obj or ply file in blender to manage it?
What about using NerFs? Luma AI? have you ever tried using this process
I played around with it a little. Maybe at some point I might incorporate it!
How to export this pointcloud with texture to unreal engine?
Hi i'm facing some issue like when I set geometry nodes and go to render view i see nothing??? ....please advice if you know

i couldn't either , but i tried literally using "col" in the store named attribute node and it worked
I am unable to see it in Render view. It only shows an outline. I wonder if it has to do with the engine you are using? Or are you on Workbench?
