Great exercises. Quick question, can I do intense abs exercises even though I might have tight pelvic floor muscles? I’m a bodybuilder and these exercises are crucial to me. I did some very light exercises I found in youtube for abs (they were recommended by physicians) but I’m afraid these do nothing to my abs strength wise. Please advise, like are there maneuvers I can do to the intense abs workout to tailor to my condition, alternative exercises or any warnings ahead? Appreciate you in advance.

Generally a concern about doing intense ab exercises when you have tight pelvic floor muscles is that we tend to make tight muscles even tighter by clenching or guarding if we are not exercising effectively. For specific advice regarding ways to meet your exercise goals while keeping your pelvic floor happy, you should schedule an evaluation with a pelvic floor PT.

@@PelvicHealth I already had three virtual appointments but I can’t afford a fourth one; if you could pls just give me a brief how to do abs exercise without pressuring the pelvic floor muscles. Thanks

Unfortunately we cannot advise specific exercises without seeing you, as we need to take into consideration your health history, current symptoms and other relevant information we would receive during a virtual appointment. We have general blogs on our website about exercise if you are interested in looking through pelvicpainrehab.com/?s=exercise@@Thesalamanca

Thank you! Could this help ED caused by tight pelvic floor?

Great question. It can help but make sure that you ask your medical professionals, including pelvic floor PTs, prior to make sure that it is safe for you and specific to what you are dealing with.
