Lovely to spend time with you again Ailie. I hope that you are feeling better after your migraine. Love all your makes and the Shetland Wool Week hat is beautiful in the colours you have chosen! Thanks for sharing. x
Soo many “wow 🤩 moments” in this lovely episode: your Cargill Sweater is absolutely gorrrrrgeous. Your Bonnie Isle Hat is fabulous. I want to make another one with a kit now! Mine is slouchy, as I didn’t have the right needle size then. I do now 👏🏼. And I have to say the Lone Skein Shawl in the Perth colourway is stunning next to your skin and hair tones and with your dungarees it’s perfect too!
Aaaw, thanks so much for watching Leanne 😘 And for saying all these lovely things! I’m obsessed with my Bonnie Isle Hat in the Uradale kit, the colours are so perfect 😃
Happy Podcast Anniversary! Love your podcast and your knitted items are always so beautiful. The color of the Cargill sweater is absolutely perfect for you! I also love the Shetland wool week hat. Your charity destash is such a great idea!
Happy podiversary! I have been enjoying your videos all year! I love your calm demeanor and really enjoy seeing the kinds of projects you take on/ you are a very skillful knitter! Thank you for sharing the reasoning behind the podcast name. I really relate to the idea of thinking about people while you are knitting for them- I do that often!🤗
I’m a new follower. I am happy to have found you. I follow Rebecca as well and find it very relaxing. I’m a caregiver and so some quiet peaceful moments to knit and watch are my joy. Thank you
Hi my first visit to Scotland from Australia. Driving around Caithness yesterday and thinking of you. Now as we sit waiting to board the ferry to Orkney I thought I would say how much I enjoy your podcasts and a big congratulations on this milestone
Oh goodness, you were so close by! Really hope you’ve been enjoying your trip and the wind/rain hasn’t dampened your holiday spirits. Thanks so much for your kind comment, I really appreciate it 💗
Hi Ailie! I forgot to mention on your last episode that for your cardigan, if you haven't already force made a button hole, you could always add a little crochet chain and a toggle instead! I'm in the same boat as you where I normally am a monogamous knitter or at least only have one garment and one pair of socks, but I seem to find myself in a pile of 4 garment WIPs lol. Lovely to see you again.
Thanks Jennifer! Someone else suggested the same thing and that’s exactly what I plan to do…thank goodness there are clever folks like you out there to help me out!! Eek, good luck with the WIP wrangling 💗
As a fellow migraine sufferer, I empathize! I love your podcasts and have enjoyed them from the beginning. I appreciate your aesthetic so much. Thank you for your presence and contribution you give to the knitting community.
Aw, thanks Cheri, that’s really kind of you 🥰🥰🥰 The migraines are a curse, I feel off for days. Hope you don’t have to suffer too frequently with them ❤️
Congratulations on the 'podaversary'! I do enjoy your videos and REALLY admire your finished goods. So many beautiful things. Awesome project this auction - I hope you raise a good amount for a great cause.
Oooh I want to knit Joji Locatelli's one skein shawl too. You've done a lovely job on it. I'm loving the drape. Happy Podiversary and I like your 'thoughts' on why you chose ''The Thoughtful Knitter" as the name for your podcast. I had to edit to add I love your 2nd shawl, very pretty yarn and again love the drape!
I can’t believe it’s been a year already!!! Congratulations on your podaversary and 5000 subscribers!! 🎉🙌🏻🎉 So sorry you have migraines to deal with. You did fine.
Hi Ailie and congratulations on your first year of podcasts!! I really look forward to them :) I also appreciate the way you mention other crafts people - I fell in love with Harriet Wood's project bags and had been curious about Black Isle yarns so I treated myself to a small project bag full of sock yarn from Julie - so lovely and wonderful quality! It's also a wonderful reminder of the time we spent in the Highlands back in 2014! Keep up your podcasting - they're super fun to watch - best wishes from Elizabeth in Tasmania.
Oooh lovely! I bet they feel like a real indulgence. I’m so glad you’re appreciating the quality 😊 Sending best wishes to you too, all the way to Tassie 💕
I am like you! My brain won't switch off from thinking about family and friends! I am putting myself through all sorts at present, creating a crazy stripe and colourwork cardi right now. The pattern has so many mistakes that I have practically designed it myself...a labour of love as it's colourwork knitted in pieces! The next on the list is a wool cardi (all one colour) Peas cardi for my second daughter. Last I will make 2 Loretta Road cowls, one for me and one for my neighbour. She has just surprised me with tickets to see comedian Milton Jones at a venue that's within walking distance! The Yarn was a gift for a sample knit for another friend. Have you thought of getting an ear cuff for your migraine? I may have told you this before, but my youngest daughter swears by her cuff ...she hasn't had one since she had hers!
Wow that’s a LOT of gift knitting Caroline! I hope the other projects are more straightforward and enjoyable 🤞🤞🤞 Hurray for live shows within walking distance of home…I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic time 😃 Ooh, I’ve heard others swear by the ear cuff before but had totally forgotten about it. It’s definitely worth considering, I must investigate whether anyone does them locally. Thanks for reminding me ❤️🤗
😍 Ok, now I absolutely NEED another Ranunculus--in turquoise! 😂 Thanks as always for a lovely epsisode Ailie 🥰 I love the colours of your Shetland Wool Week Hat and it was lovely hearing about the inspiration for your podcast name. I hope you are feeling better and wishing you a very successful charity sale 🤗💕
I feel you, I have one migraine/week and just try to continue functioning as I can‘t fall asleep and nothing will help… my brain never switches off too, maybe it has something to do with the migraines😅 I love your dungarees! The colour goes very well with your eyes!
Oh Maïthé, that’s so tough. I get load of them too so totally understand. They’re so debilitating! Good thought about the active mind possibly being linked. I wonder if we just wear our brains out and it responds by going haywire for awhile?! Thanks so much for the comment about my dungarees. I love them, they’re so, so comfy!
@@TheThoughtfulKnitter yes, I can only speak for myself but I‘m sure I worry too much 🙈 I was prescribed magnesium, it can help with anxiety and the migraines are less bad. And I’ve now begun to seek for little moments of mindfulness in everyday tasks, like not instantly grabbing for my phone when I‘m waiting in the car for the kids after practice, but just watch my surroundings and listen to the weird silence in my car 😄I believe in the power of little things ❤️ I do take time for myself and always wondered why it didn’t help as much as I hoped, so now I really think that it‘s in the little everyday things🍀
Ailie, I love your Shetland wool week hat so much!! It goes with your Cargill hehehe you should definitely keep it 😉 Happy one year ❤ so glad I found your podcast and got to know you this year!!
Happy Pod-aversery Ailie! I hope you are feeling better after that migraine attack, those are no fun to handle. And by the way, you look just lovely as always, no sign of you being perticularly off, in any way. Thank you for a lovely episode, and best of luck with the auction, it is a great idea 🤓
I'm so glad that you started this podcast! It has been a wonderful year of getting to hear about your knitting and making adventures, while working on my own. Happy Birthday to us!!
Your video just popped up in my queue, and I enjoyed it very much. I am neither a shawl wearer nor a shawl knitter, but I do love so many of the designs.
Congratulations!!! Happy Anniversary. I have really enjoyed this wonderful journey. I look forward to every podcast. Thank you so much for sharing with us all.
love the colour of your lucy and yak dungerees. I have a pair of green cord dungerees. I managed to spill bleach on mine the first day I ever wore them. I was so annoyed with myself as you know how expensive they can be. So I decided to see the bleach mark as character and kept wearing them lol T x
i so hear you on the migraine, but you did just fine :). your creabea sweater and joji scarf and shetland hat are just beautiful! i vote to keep the scarf - it's so pretty and the color suits you. thanks for talking about your family and knitting memories and the reasoning behind your pod name. no wonder you're such a talented knitter! happy podiversary and happy fall! 🍂🧶🍁
Thanks so much Jane 🥰 Wishing you a happy fall too 🍂🍂🍂 Yes, migraines are horrible - they send you wrong for days. Thank goodness my addled brain didn’t come across too obviously in the episode 😅
Always love your clips…. Meant to say before (without being too personal) I love your hairstyle, it suits you so well and it’s a beautiful cut (you have a good hairdresser!). Lots of good luck with the auction. Thank you 💕🌿
Aw, thanks so much ☺️ I do indeed have an excellent hairdresser. Sadly she’s giving up hairdressing though, so I’m now debating whether I should grow it out…I don’t trust anyone else to cut it! 🙈
Thanks Rosemary 💗 I think it would probably be better just to donate directly to the charity yourself. I’ve discovered (too late) that ko-fi do take a cut, so it would be wiser to donate smaller sums directly to International Medical Corps UK. Thanks for your kindness in wanting to donate though, it’s very much appreciated 💕

What a tease showing us that beautiful cargill jumper and not talking me through every thought in your head about it. I can't wait to hear everything!
😆🙈 Sorry! I hadn’t thought of that 😂 I promise to record again ASAP so you can hear aaaaaalllllllll about it!

Another lovely knitting podcast.
❤️ So kind! Thank you!!

Beautiful items. Do hope you raise plenty of money for the worthwhile cause. 🇬🇧
Thanks Elaine! Folk have been really generous, which is truly heartwarming 🥰
Always love your clips…. Meant to say before (without being too personal) I love your hairstyle, it suits you so well and it’s a beautiful cut (you have a good hairdresser!). Lots of good luck with the auction. Thank you 💕🌿

Sadly I’m working backshift so won’t be able to join for your premiere but I will be watching later T x
Aw, that’s a shame Tania, hope you have a good shift ❤️
Can you just buy you a coffee as in donate? Rather than buy a garment? Great idea for raising funds.
